This episode isnt mentioned much when talking about the best episodes of breaking bad, but the killing montage, the editing transitions, the cooking/money montage and Hank putting it together actually make this one of my favourite episodes. The last episodes are just so good you'll forget about this one. Ozymandias and felina are the perfect closing episodes. And I obviously want to mention the perfect combo of the half measure and full measure episodes.

For me, Hank finding that book is how this season should have started. There was so much that could have happened regarding family drama, tensions between our main characters, Hank building a case against Walter while Walter kept going more off the deep end (instead of being an anti-hero.) Then tensions building towards the most explosive climax of any TV show as opposing forces of truth/justice (Hank) finally collides with those of deception/criminality (Walter.)

Walter was sounding like Mike when he talked to Lydia. There's a detail throughout the series that I don't know if James has picked up on, which is that Walter starts exhibiting behaviors and mannerisms from the people he has killed. Fun Fact: The prison killings were inspired by the cinematic behemoth which was The Godfather. It's called Extracurricular, and it's a Korean show on Netflix. I watched it with subtitles, I have no idea if a dub is available or not. Just a fair warning. But I would pitch the show as "Breaking Bad: Korean high school edition, with sex work instead of drugs." There's even a Korean Mike Erhmantraut in that show, and you will fall in love with him every bit as much as the American Mike Erhmantraut, I guarantee it.

Some of the "bad guys" have tattoos associated with certain groups not so much for ideological reasons but more for "safety" reasons. When you are in prison there is a huge thing to join a group to help keep you protected and these groups are very segregated (not just one sided), so showing that that guy had certain tattoos was more so showing he has been in prison and most likely for a long amount of time.

The only criticism I have of this series is in that last scene. After the W.W. flashback, Hank should have had a massive, chaotic series of flashbacks of ALL the strange moments with Walt that all came together: the equipment theft at his school, the 2nd cell phone, Walt asking to see the meth lab, the bag with a half million in cash, the gambling money, the car accident, all of it, the close the episode on Hank’s face.
