Yeah, man. The best episode of the series is in season 5, but the best ending to a single episode is Crawl Space. Absolutely iconic. The webs on Walt's beaten face, the desperation in his voice, Skyler's overwhelming terror, the cackling laugh, the voice-mail to signal that it's too late, Skyler's dimly lit face as she slowly walks toward the phone, the haunting soundtrack, the ever-increasingly shaky camera as it rises from Walt's visage, and then the cut to black. I think I know which one you mean but I think you're taking for granted the great writing of previous seasons that invented and developed characters like Walter, Jesse, Hank, Saul, Mike, Gus Fring, and Hector. Do you think it would be easier to invent these characters than to write continued stories involving them? When talking "best" by quality of writing, season 5 falls short.

To me, Walt left when he let Jane die. The devil arrived. He could take fair form for awhile, but yes. After this there is very little mask left. It's only the inertia of Walt's past with those close to him that make them blind to who he has become.

This is still the only scene from a movie or television show that actually made me sick to my stomach due to the hoplessness and dread of the situation... Not even kidding, this scene made me feel like I was going to throw up, and that's just a testement to how good every single aspect of that ending scene really is. I can't think of any other scene from a tv show or movie that has elidited a physical reaction out of me like that.

I think that the crawl space scene is literally the best thing I've ever seen on film.. everything about it is shot perfectly plus the background music.. and Cranston's performance is insane.. they slowly built up the Ted/Skyler/IRS storyline and gave one of the best payoffs ever..

Walt's pride will literally not let him feel out of control even in the most extreme of situations, and the ending to this episode to me shows how isolated that ideology can eventually make a person with that destructive type of mind set.

The part where Gus threatens to kill Walt's baby gives me chills every time. The delivery of that line, the hoarse whisper he uses. Absolutely terrifying. Props to Giancarlo Esposito. How they decided to cast this guy, I don't know, but man they nailed it. I can't imagine a better or scarier guy in this role. And he seems like such a nice guy IRL lmao

The soundtrack in the final scene in particular, especially the piece that starts right after Walt yells "WHERE IS THE MONEY?!?!" until the very end of the scene is absolutely superb. It reminds me so much of Akira Yamaoka's musical score in the video game Silent Hill 2. Anyone who has played that series knows exactly what I am talking about. I feel like the creators must have taken some inspiration, and a soundtrack inspired from a horror series in these scene would fit so so well, especially as Skyler is watching Walt's maniacal laughter while the phone rings non stop in the background. I doubt we will see another show this excellent in our lifetimes. Once in a lifetime indeed.

This season's climax comes together so perfectly that the sky-high anxiety of our characters at the end of the episode starts seeping through the screen and into the souls of the viewers, you can't help but drop your jaw and nervously wonder how on earth they're going to get out of this horrible mess. Just so you keep an eye on this for the rest of the show, the ending of 4x11 "Crawl Space" is actually a symbolism: The last shot, which is shot as a frame, and Walt laughing like a maniac, symbolizes the end of Walt and his transition forever into Heisenberg. You'll understand this change as you keep watching the show. Great reaction as usual man, keep it up!! :)

Here it is, one of the top 5 most iconic moments from Breaking Bad. The acting, the framing, the tension, everything is on point and beyond. Walter has hit rock bottom, and he is literally in the bottom, all boxed in, laughing at the hopelessness of the situation. And the situation is pretty complex too. Gus gave him a fair out, just to keep Jesse happy. All he has to do is to leave Hank to his fate. And yet we know Walt. He will never let someone get a win over him, especially when the Win means taking out his family member. So the conflict is unavoidable. Hank got too close to the truth for his own good, and he doesn't know that he is chasing down the coldest TV villain of the 2000's. And you really can't tell Hank that he should you know, let this case go, just for the hell of it. On a side note, love the Godfather reference, with all those oranges falling around Ted. And oh man, the way that Gus delivered the infant daughter line, in that almost whisper like tone, as if it's such a vile thing to say, but he is saying it anyway, that's top tier acting right there.

I love this episode and genuinely think its one of the most important, lots of parallels we'll see again, but also the significance of the crawl space, boxed in desperately trying to strip the rot from your foundations, a safe haven for your ill gotten gains; but also walter white has died down there and heisenberg emerges and the irony that skylar is the only one there to witness it because if everything about him came out she might be the only one at his actual funeral should gus succeed

Your comments about the wide angle cinematography are I think a big reason why this show has such deep ties to the city of Albuquerque. Plenty of shows get made in specific cities, but you dont often see cities dedicate statues to the show. And especially as someone who lives in the West, Vince and the cinematographers have such skill at highlighting the unique beauty of the space.
