He gets a delivery at the door because it has been long enough and is time. He looks at the box and you see the Jack in the room with him because he is inside looking now. He goes through the rooms he's locked away for the last 9 years and as he progresses it gets more intense because he realizes how much he has repressed. In the rock chorus the sound seems far away and quiet because its him yelling from inside the box what he wants. In the end scene you see the XRAY looking into the deepest part of the human body the bones. In that scene he expresses he knows that fame and etc is not everything and he needs to keep working because it keeps him alive and music is his life. He wants to be greedy, he wants it okay to be greedy for things that other people take for granted like being honest and being raw. In the end you see Jhope quietly closing the box, he tilts his head as he ponders about what he has just experienced. The Jack is not in there though, Jhope is now Jack. and now u have the album, jack in the box. In the toy the more you wind it up, the more time goes on, the sooner the Jack blasts through teh doors. Jhope is coming for us and I am stoked.

BTS have such a strong identity as a group but each of the members also held a solid personalities of their own. I am really impressed with this MV, it is mind blowing and refreshing. I especially love the part where everything freeze and the sudden dropped. Hobi really surprised us this time. I can’t wait to see what else he will be revealed to us.

He is actually bringing back the 80s/90s gangster punk grunge rock style back even though it’s risky and I haven’t heard this type of style in a while also this isn’t even his title song his title song and album is coming at July 15th. (Also his “screams” etc is pretty muted because it feels like he is trapped in a box)

You asked about the band's members' look, the makeup is because of Jhope's album concept. His album name is "Jack in the box" and based on the original story, there are people getting all melted and distorted because of extreme life pressure and overexerting themselves and such concepts. In general, his album has so many details and references, we've just seen a little bit and are blown away. Please listen to his album on July 15.

Jhope has always been the symbol of HOPE and light as he was always our sunshine . Jack in the Box is another persona of Jhope which always has been there waiting to come out. Think Pandora's Box~ Hobi was the HOPE and now he opened the box, he is the key to letting Jack out , embracing him and showing him to the world. When I saw this, I immediately thought of you. Check out the Fight Club movie. The scenes are reminiscent of the interiors and the storyline is similar. The band members' disfigurement can hark back to burn marks on body parts from the movie. I'm looking forward to your recreation of the xray scene.

I'm so proud of Hobi and didn't expect this at all. I'm loving the beat of this song and I love the drums and guitars and this side of our sunshine is wrecking me badly. This is a different side of hobi I thought I'd never see also I love the MV aswell and I love how his voice sounds as well as how rocky this sounds and I'm also loving this néw look on him aswell and I love how he raps. One of the making of photos that was revealed earlier today(Sunday) showed that J-Hope had dots on his face on a green screen set. They filmed him doing the part of the X-Ray on the green screen and did the CGI work to get the shot in the MV. Plus, the men in black (🤭....get the movie joke here?) are meant to be zombies. At least some of the Fandom are thinking this. We just have to hope that the making of video of the MV will be revealed, since the photos are out on the net.

In my opinion, the band represents the zombie life of a typical 9-5. So that's why they look disfigured and sort of not entirely interested in what they're doing but they're still excited to do it. Also the scene where he's standing on the desk reminds me of Wolf of Wall Street

I think the blue color in the office gives a cold, impersonal feel to the shots. It's as if everyone in the office is trapped in their own little personal hell, not caring about (or being cared about by) others.

Both J-Hope and RM have talked about their mental health before, this reminds me of J-Hope letting out his internal version of himself, everyone says they didn't expect this but I'm loving this side of Hobi, he's so raw and grungy. The MV references is several scenes in Fight Club, Jack is the name of Edward Norton’s character who follows societies rules and Brad Pitt ‘Tyler’ is the alternate personality he creates to let out the anarchy and chaos inside him J Hope is a sublime artist lyrically, musically, visually in this beautiful allegory of hiding ones inner self to please society

Xray and dirty garages/venues are used a LOT in rock music videos so I'm not surprised by it here. Also, Twitter did bring up a comparison with Suga's Interlude: Shadow (mirror scene), with the hard mechanical camera angles and the concept of multiple facets of yourself. The hallway is also a big thing for BTS and again, Suga's Interlude also starts with a hallway features doorways. Lastly, the monster band members made me laugh because they looks SO much like the same prosthetics used in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (think bumpy pointy horn faces). Thank you for the analysis!

Hey Alex! GLad you liked it! I remember your early videos and qna's and I thought not only the MV but the music would be up your alley. Replying to your first comment: this isn't fast, actually. At the dinner they just gave us a heads up starting then, I don't know about everyone but I expected it to start rolling the week after or so. Hoseok xD has said in his weverse letter and instagram? that this song is 2 years old or so I understood it (as he started working on it in 2020 and finally could release it). The MV director is Lee Suho from Boring studio, in case you want to check some of his works (CL Spicy, mmm not sure if you seen this one with John Malkovich at the beginning? and more recent B.I. BTBT ^^, among others! Like Woo's Uniform)

Every time I see the guy jhope trips and his face falls in the copy machine and takes different shots of him i always have a feeling that I'v seen this guy in this shot probably in a movie. I know many movies(comedy or thriller) has the same scene but it's this guy in particular, of course with many movies i can't even begin to search. or maybe I'm wrong.

Alex...I have a Question for you. From my perspective...I've done stage directing...I would have done a take 2 on the opening sequence where the delivery guy is walking down the hall...then delivers the package. Can you figure out why I would ask the actor to do it again and ask him to add one thing in his action? Anyone else can guess too. I couldn't see Hobi's face piercing. Anyone have a closeup pic of that? An observation...the court jester hat in the first shot is not the same court jester hat in the hospital bed. It's more textured and technical and doesn't look like bunny ears like the first one. I think the hat is scanning his brain.

Observation. You mentioned the solo work dropped came out very fast. Listen carefully to what they say at Festa 2022. Jimin specifically says Hobi has been talking about solo work for a long time. So how long would it take to put out a top quality BigHit Solo MV? You might know specifically. Hobi had to come up with the concept, compose the song, write the lyrics, hire the director and staff, cinematographer, sound, lighting, editing set, art direction, hair, makeup, costumes, special effects, professional makeup artist for the zombie like band members, staging, choreography, props, teaser, teaser concept pics, marketing, and every other detail to make this Great and impressive!!! It took lots of months. Or more. Because he is also dropping a complete album. He is headlining his solo act at Lollapalooza in Chicago. So he had to have that all prepared. A whole stage performance. I won't even list all it takes for that. You KNOW since it's first solo performance it's going to be top notch...The Best. So when did J-Hope do all this? He did it while he was completing his very busy BTS schedule this last year. And again, I won't list all BTS has done this past year!!! So very much. And Hobi had Covid! Whew. I'm exhausted just thinking about his past year. And this is just Hobi. We are going to get top quality solo work times 7. I don't remember what chart it was, but ALL top 15 songs were from BTS. So not only do we have World Wide Handsome. We now have WWT, World Wide Takeover!!! Wow, oh, wow!!!
