This short vid should have approximately a gazillion more likes. It's the perfect intro tutorial for drone pilots who want to understand how ISO, aperture and shutter speed relate to one another. As a rank beginner, this gave me *exactly* what I was looking for. It was particularly helpful to see, on screen in real time, how changing the different settings affected the shot. Thank you!

1:48 GoPros have a fixed-aperture lens that's rated at ƒ/2.8
@FilmmakerCentral2 жыл бұрын
My point is a GoPro does not have aperture as an adjustable setting, what it is fixed at is irrelevant
@LAGRIND2 жыл бұрын
@@FilmmakerCentral Yes I understand, however, I was directed to this video by one of my users that believed Gopros had bad low-light performance because it had no aperture. The DJI mini 3 and the GoPro have almost the same sensor size yet my DJI mini 3 performs far better in low light. Why is that?...because the DJI mini has a fixed aperture of f1.7 and the GoPro is fixed at f2.8 So knowing the aperture is very important as I explained to him. Even if it is fixed it is good to know.

Kerry thanks for an awesome tutorial, I watched one of the other respectable channels and he was stating that while working on color grading D log footage on the M3 an exposure of like -0.3 rather than +0.3 seemed to work better, while the M2p d log footage would color grade best with +0.3 Or so, just an awesome observation from M3 reviews.

Great explanation, thank you. White balance is now shown in numbers rather than sunny or cloudy. I’m guessing you just move the slider up and down until the picture looks good or is there a better way. Once again thank you. 😀🐾🐾
@FilmmakerCentral3 жыл бұрын
Those named presets are not standard across all cameras and can be off by hundreds of degrees. There are apps for both android and iOS that can help determine correct white balance.

Question, ISO in digital is not new to me but only understood now from this video. Is ISO "noise" similar to pixelation from cropping/ digital zoom, or is it totally different looking? Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday... You are a busy person, and we all appreciate it! I started photography with a good (at the time) 35mm camera and exposure meter for setting the camera, i.e., I am old as dirt, but left wedding photography when the digital age hit due to having a good job, family, and not having funds or time to basically start over. I forgot much of what I knew because I never used it, however with a Mavic 3 now, my third drone, and wanting to use it well, your previous how-to presentations and now this camera 101, has been wonderful for me, and I am sure many others!

Thanks a lot, I cannot find the mm symbol that you mentioned in the video in the DJI app (latest version). How can you activate this? By the way how do you know that you have the right nd filter? Do you test this manually by holding the filter in front of the lense and see what shutter speed is automatically depicted? If it is larger than double frame rate take another ne filter ?
@FilmmakerCentral3 жыл бұрын
The MM should be in the bottom right next to the camera settings when you are in Pro mode. The second part, well, you may not like my answer, but it's "I know what to use by looking with my eyes". Probably 70% of the time, you can use an ND16 during the day, another 28% of the time, it will need an ND32, and 2% of the time it might need something else. The fact is, you learn. I just keep the ND16 on all the time and only swap it out if its not as bright out or its brighter than normal.
@mountains-to-the-sea3 жыл бұрын
@@FilmmakerCentral thanks a for your answer. Besides I recognised that if I Make a drone shot on a very sunny day with n32 filter and 4K, that there is a a short flicker maybe every minute ? Is this due to the auto aperture that adjusts itself to the different lightning conditions? Do you recommend to set it to a constant f value? But which should this be?
@FilmmakerCentral3 жыл бұрын
I don’t suggest that any setting be in auto was this can happen, including white balance.
@mountains-to-the-sea3 жыл бұрын
@@FilmmakerCentral thanks how to set the f value manually? Just use the automatic value suggested before start and set it as manual value? Thanks a lot for an answer

What is the best FPS for the Mavic 3 and how do you determine which one to choose??? (Video settings)
@FilmmakerCentral3 жыл бұрын
There is no "best", its based on what you need your output to be. For KZbin, I shoot in 30fps.
@shb7772000if3 жыл бұрын
What the Mavic 3 really needs, is spot exposure, or spot metering, like my camcorder has.
