If you see you child get molested CALL THE POLICE stop being just as sick as the molestor and keeping quiet 🤫 it’s disgusting and ruins the child’s life
@pme8370
@pme8370 2 жыл бұрын
It’s easy to say that now. However, I would imagine that at the time it was very difficult to come forward because her mother had her and the children’s entire life set up around the father. Remember, there was a more traditional set up at that time where few women worked or had the skills to. Also, there were not as many resources for women should they leave their husband and take their children. It seems like this woman had grown in confidence as an adult, but it seems like she would have a very difficult time accumulating the vocational skills necessary to support a family on her own. No statement against her, she was just a product of her time. Also in the heat of a stressful moment like the one they described, it makes it much more difficult to think rationally and plan something as complex as leaving a husband and taking the kids. Also, it is not helpful to blame a victim or a victim’s family member with as much disdain as the abuser themself. The mother wasn’t as “sick” as the father for not immediately calling the cops. She was in a difficult situation and could not have made the choice to call police and leave because she didn’t have the resources and likely feared retribution. And indeed, retribution happened, her husband killed her. In short, don’t blame the mother.

@@pme8370 no your wrong… you can always call 911 and seek for help… And yes it will effect your child mentally… I came from a home where me and my sisters were Molested by my own dad… I told my mom and she never cared… the only that she did was she kicked me and my sisters out of the house…age 15,13, and 14….. my mom never told us why she did what she did…. She could’ve at least supported us till the age of 18… I’m in my late 30’s right now and I wish that my mom did the right thing either call the cops or kicked my dad out of the house… she chose him over us cause he owned a nice home and he had money…
@pme8370
@pme8370 2 жыл бұрын
@@zackabee5498 I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I hear you when you say that your mom should have called 911 when you reported the molestation. It seems like your mom was in a completely different place mentally, emotionally and spiritually than the mom in this video. The mom in the video does not appear to have acted out of malice at all when she did not call 911 the moment she noticed the molestation. She seemed to have a hard time advocating for herself and an even harder time advocating for her children. Perhaps I am giving this mother the benefit of the doubt. After all, the people that created this episode make her out to be very innocent and even simple minded. Maybe that is true to an extent. However, she was still a capable adult woman raising children. It seems like she could have and should have done something about what she saw.

I don't think the family dynamic was properly analyzed. She was a child and an abused one who just had her mother (the one that had protected her) taken away from her. Also this was 1978 and people were not as sensitive to child sexual abuse. If she was asked/interviewed by an experienced child psychologist I am sure she would have come forward of that information. Never blame a victim let alone a child victim. You've never been in their shoes.

Too bad the wife didn't call the police. Maybe Larry would have been in jail and the wife could have lived. And she would have done something to protect her daughter.

This episode sticks in my mind as being extra sad. This lady was just starting to live her life after her life changing surgery. Her daughter is so sweet and earnest. It's really sad that he decided to ruin all that for them. 😢

So I did not know Plant DNA could not be preserved?
@FireWolf583
@FireWolf583 4 ай бұрын
It kind of can but back then they didn’t really know how to. They lacked the technology necessary back then to keep a plant preserved without having to use chemicals that could ruin the dna and kill the plant.

Evidence might not lie,but if it's inconclusive then it's not necessarily completely true. However,a preponderance of evidence, whether it's solid or not,can as a whole be very convincing evidence.

There's nobody else it could have been but Larry. He thought he could get away with it, living in his same house twenty something years after the murder. THIS MAN KILLED 2 PEOPLE! What makes Forensic Files one of the best shows, is that it catches the antagonist in the end pretty much every time. The bad guy gets caught leaving no trace of doubt.

Not when she was born. I went to school in the 60's, grade school and knew at least a couple of kids that had speech impediments from that. And that was after surgery. Plus their mouth was shaped different and there were scars.

Did the step-daughter at anytime from 1978 to when the step dad was caught ever tell the police he had been molesting her? Did the son tell police back in 1978 about being in the bedroom and his Mom not even waking up? The police dropped the ball back in 1978 :(.
@sleepybunny2
@sleepybunny2 2 жыл бұрын
Even if the police knew about these two things back then, they still didn't have any evidence to prove their case. These were circumstantial, not scientific evidence. What nailed the case is the forensic evidence they found twenty years later. In fact the police did a very good job of collecting and preserving the items from twenty years ago.

I think the defending lawyer dropped the ball! Larry's car is not the only one with that liner; that road (how long?) is not the only place he could have picked up calc. carbonate. Any vehicle that drove over it and then into the Trucking yard could have deposited it ! Did he ever confess ?

Depends on the fiber and the dye. Stores have bought/made extremely proprietary dye lots that don't exist anywhere else. If you go to a paint store and get custom paint, it'll NEVER match anything else. Between what you see on the strips, there could be 50 colors in between those. Also, undertones change it completely. If you read the labels, it all comes from 12 tints. But two pinks that look identical aren't. One has a magenta tint and the other is blue (I think it is). That's what makes colors "pop" or clash when they're together, too.
@windsofmarchjourneyperrytr2823

No, they've made dye lots that are specifically mixed. It only exists on that one item. They had a holiday party where a kid had this, too. JC Penny dress.
