@@thewillofabeast9079 Well said. I'm not a fan of police work but at the end of the day it was upto a different group of people, the jury, to convict him. The defense had no defense and couldn't provide an alibi. He could've known beforehand from staff that cameras weren't working at both places and that's why he offered the alibis there. If another person had entered the home when the girl was on the phone, killed her and removed her body , the stepdad was there all that time and would've been aware of it. I do wonder sometimes if in fact they conceal sexual crimes to save the parents the anguish, coz a simple slap could be negotiated with a reward of money or later curfews etc.

The marks on her body were IDENTICAL to being laid across his car seat in a totally unnatural way and cannot be explained any other way other than that she was laid across his seat after she was dead. That alone is impossible to explain any other way. The marks were identical to the tiniest degree. That together with the FRESH thistles under his car the same as the dump site where her body was found, the fact that he was the last person to be with her at that exact time she went missing, all point to his guilt. @@jomama5186 What's even scarier is that parents are killing their own biological children, so it isn't that far fetch that a stepparent would kill a stepchild. This man said he used his computer that Saturday at his office, his employer said he NEVER lodged on to his computer that day. Innocent people don't lie about their whereabouts. The security guard on duty that day didn't recall seeing him or his car and Doug Douser couldn't give a description of the security guard. Most likely, this man will go to his grave professing his supposed innocence.

I must say a few things strike me as odd. While there isn’t a lot of evidence according to this show, it seems weird that no one has brought up the prospect that would explain both the victims recent behavior and the murder. Did anyone stop to think/investigate if she was being molested? For a situation like this where a girl seems to have a guardian (biological or not) that she cares for only to become extremely defiant/rebellious. I think it’d be a failure on everyone’s part of that wasn’t at least investigated.

Binge watching Forensic Files while learning monsters are everywhere. If I were a juror on Mouser's case, I wouldn't have been convinced by Yellow Star Thistle or by the post-mortem imprints, alone. It doesn't even sound like investigators attempted to recreate the thigh impressions in other vehicle models for comparison. However, an abruptly ended conversation was most likely a result of getting caught on the phone by a parent. And, worse, no logical reason was furnished as to why Mouser lied about being on a computer at work that day. A lie in a murder case draws attention to the liar in considering him a murderer, which brings me back around to the matching Yellow Star Thistle, precision thigh imprints, with the phone hang-up and lie about work makes the prosecution's case more compelling.
