Can you publish a sample video where you use use this tool to help make decisions in the color wheels and other basic color tools.

Daria: Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It will be much appreciated if you could produce a short video of a real live example of using the Skin Tone Scope, with Davinci Resolve, to match two skin tones shots from different cameras on the same scene (same lighting, different angles, different framing), where the differences on skin tones are small, yet needing some matching. Thank you in advance.

I need to see a tutorial on how this is used. I'm not too clear on this.

Just diving in this software.. Absolute mind blowing!

Nice job. I like your tutorial for the Mini Panel as well.

I was hoping for more information on exactly how to use the scope-I understand it keys and displays the areas identified as skin tones, but how can we use this to help nail the actual colors? Another short tutorial showing how it might be used would be really helpful. Thanks!

This looks amazing! Do you have any other tools in your product like EL Zone or Gio Scope?
@filmsbytomasz Жыл бұрын
EL Zone is coming soon! We don't exactly have Gio Scope but a pretty powerful and configurable False Color tool.

How GPU intensive is the Omniscope? Interesting! I added it to my must have tools, looking forward to getting it soon.

Depends on the signal resolution, current layout (especially QC tools) and your GPU model. Have a look at this link: docs.timeinpixels.com/nobe-omniscope/requirements#performance-considerations

This looks like a great tool, wish it was in the Video version not only the Pro version.

It’s coming to the video version in the next update!

Yay, I see it in the new version and have been exploring. Second the person below who would like a tutorial on workflow with it!

Ok. So what exactly is this program? I saw this randomly pop up on Facebook. The links under the video don’t appear to be working for some reason. I absolutely SUCK at keying skin and this looks neat. Is this a resource for regular Joes and amateurs like myself or is this above my scope?

Generally this is a tool used by professional colorists or video finishing artists. It is a video scope software that complements Resolve, Avid & Premiere. If you are a hobbyist, it might be overkill - however there is a lot to be gained by using scopes for color correction, so I'd recommend starting by learning how to use the built-in scopes of your editing application. Hope this helps.

Meant warmly, but the price, even if it was a single payment it's too high. That is annually mean it's a no brainer that you won't get meth adoption. I'd like to qualify why, imagine every plugging cost the same on an annual basis, it's simply not affordable. This pricing model assumes that nobody else would do the same thing for their product, the uses don't have several of these types of tools, they do and they don't pay anywhere near this. lastly, look at what you get with da Vinci resolve, at the same price point. You by the way, brilliant at what you know and teach and for this I thank you.

This is a professional tool, made for professional colorists. It's not for hobbyists, or for people for whom Resolve's "free" built-in scopes more than suffice. It's also developed and supported by one person (as far as I know), and he is one of the most responsive, user-friendly developers I've ever experienced. If you report a bug, usually he'll turn around a fix for it within a few days, at most (although recently he turned around a fix within 24 hours of me reporting it!). If you use a tool to make money, that level of responsiveness is worth every single penny. There's much more to the cost of a product than just the outward "features list". It also costs time and money to support the users of the product. If the developer cant afford the time and resources to develop and improve the software, in addition to providing support to it's users, then they wont bother making the software to begin with.

@@melorama808 yes, agree it is, that does not invalidate the points that I raised. It's simply not priced right, it's software, it's reproduction, cost nothing, and it does a fraction of what other software does at an exorbitant price.

@@Coatsey007 It absolutely does "invalidate" the points you raised. Software does not "cost nothing". Omniscope may only be 582 MB of data in your /Applications folder, but to build a software version of what used to cost many THOUSANDS of dollars (e.g. Tektronix, Leader etc) is not trivial, and it has a real world development cost behind it. Part of that cost is making sure that you're charging enough money for the product that it becomes a sustainable business. If Tom made Omniscope a $30 product, it would increase his support costs exponentially, because more people would be apt to buy it simply because it's cheap. But the more customers you have, the more support resources you need to invest in, and if you're a one-man band like Tom, it just doesnt make sense to do that, because it takes the focus away from developing the software itself. And if you've even bothered to use Omniscope, you would know that it does a LOT more than what "other software" does. It makes the built-in Resolve scopes-as well as the ScopeBox app-seem utterly rudimentary. Any professional colorist would likely agree. Do you "need" Omniscope to be a professional colorist? Of course not. But if you are a professional colorist, it would be fairly impossible to not WANT to use Omniscope as part of ones daily workflow. That's why I had absolutely zero hesitation in paying for Omniscope. It helps me be more efficient and accurate as a colorist. If youre just a hobbyist who doesn't need all the bells and whistles that Omniscope gives you, then please understand that this product is not designed for you. The Resolve built-in scopes are more than sufficient. Omniscope has some overlap in what "free" alternatives have, but the free alternatives most definitely do not have the same kinds of features that makes it worth paying for Omniscope in order to get.

OmniScope is not a forced annual subscription model. You can buy the software and the license never expires. After 1 year, you can pay an upgrade fee which is totally optional and you can upgrade whenever you like. The upgrade is a small fee (not annual unless you want that). For those that use video scopes everyday in their job, this is a quality product and a fair price. Hope this helps understand... And responding warmly -- you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the economic reality for independent developers is time = money. Software products have to cost something, especially tools that are used in professional environments.
