Also, when Mack and the team of paparazzi find Lightning in Radiator Springs, Mack says “Thank the manufacturer, you’re alive!” which is the automotive equivalent of “Thank God, you’re alive!” This implies that there exists a “manufacturer” that makes these cars and is essentially their God. Just binge watching some past film theory, and I realized... Scientists have already made artificial tissues to replace damaged tissues in humans. What if BNL, controlled by AI, developed a way to string these tissues and some external materials (i.e. metal) to create half-machine-half-organism cyborgs, based off of already existing and already functioning bases? I have my own theory about this Cars movie: Few pasts ago, the man eating buses, or the SCP-2086 colonies that escaped from SCP Foundation has thrive out. They preying on humans, camouflage as normal buses. That's why we see no more humans, only it's remnants. However the man eating buses are bored of their old look, so they start develop and evolve their own new species. They evolve and it's no longer only buses, buses, and buses. Instead, the SCP 2086 or these man eating buses develop become cars, taxis, cranes, planes, boats, or any vehicles (etc.) that we see in Cars. Sometimes, the evolved SCP 2086 has evolved become smaller as tiny beetle cars with organic wings and some kinda a pair of antennas, while the bigger ones lose their wings.

For the "smart cars" section of this story: My favorite version of the Pixar Theory is the Super Carlin Brothers version, which states that, rather than being artificially intelligent machines, the cars are similar to the toys in Toy Story in that they are "powered" by humans, but while the toys are powered by human imagination, the cars are powered by human memory and take on the personality of their former owners, which is why they are so much more humanoid than just smart cars.
