My favorite example of how BS Jigsaw’s victim choice is would probably be when he had an insurance guy go through a gauntlet of deciding which vaguely affiliated individuals would die, then when he’s “learned his lesson”, he’s killed when the widow and son of a man he denied insurance to don’t forgive him, so there was really no reason for ten or so vaguely affiliated innocent people to die horribly.

@@ThawBerry in I think the 6th film the person you follow through the trap plot (the plot where someone plays through a series of death traps) is a health insurance broker. He creates a formula which tells the company he works for if it is monetarily beneficial to give them health insurance. (They say his job was basically to pick who lives and who dies) His death traps basically have him pick between people that worked for/with him and pick who lives and dies, as some of them had to die. In the end the twist is that a woman and her son that we've seen and are led to believe his wife and kid turn out to be the wife and kid of someone he denied health insurance to. They then have to decided whether he and his sister get to live and die. The kid then decides to not forgive him and kills them. here's a couple more tips from someone who just finished binging the entire series: • If you wake up in a chair, don't stand up. Most of the traps that have the victim in chairs and allow them to stand up are started by a metal pin that is pulled out the moment you stand up. • Don't open or close any big doors. These doors will begin the next trap and will lock you out from the previous. Make sure you have all the materials you can gather before continuing. • To alleviate pain slightly, take a deep breath and quickly let it out before doing something that will hurt you. The breath out released endorphins, masking the pain slightly. • Talk with you teammates and get an understanding of the connection between you all ASAP. This will give you a hint on the theme of the traps and what you can do to survive.

@Swag Monke I think @Minecraft Monki is referring to the suicide attempt of John Kramer, wherein he derived inspiration for his death traps by pulling the pieces of the wrecked car he drove off a cliff after being diagnosed with cancer out of his body. He gained a newfound appreciation of life after the pain of surviving something that almost took his life, whereas everyone else is in traps specifically designed by Kramer.
@ugxsan3 жыл бұрын
In his twisted mind, he believes that they've killed themselves. That he, himself, didn't pull the trigger as it was only for what he deemed being unappreciative of your life that he "had to" kidnap them. Obviously we know that's insane, but so is Kramer.

@Irish_Georgia_Girl Жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the movie "Jigsaw" that was the 8th installment? Where they had buckets on their heads and a guy was still unconscious from the sedative I guess he gives them all and the bucket was dragging him towards the saws? I'm pretty sure that's the one you're referring to. The reason John stopped that game was because he knew that guy wasn't going to wake up in time and would get clobbered by the blades. Now yes normally John might not care...but then again he may not matter what because the point of the game was to give them all a second chance. But in Logan's case (the guy with the bucket on his head) he stopped it not only because he was unconscious and couldn't fight for his survival but, he also realized Logan didn't even deserve to be there. He'd picked him out of anger because Logan was a Radiologist back then when John first started feeling 😊😊

4:52 The example used here isn’t perfect because Saw II makes sure to show that Daniel, Eric’s son, is a repeat offender who only stays out of prison because his dad is a corrupt cop who keeps begrudgingly bailing him out. This could be seen as Daniel “not appreciating his life” to Jigsaw and so might justify throwing him into the nerve gas house (in Jigsaw’s mind, not in a sane person’s head). A better example is Saw VII when Bobby is lying about being a Jigsaw survivor to get rich, his wife, who doesn’t know he’s lying but is a good and supportive wife, gets kidnapped and used as bait for Bobby to go through the game and…. Another channel I like pointed out that a lot of traps used on solo victims have timers attached that are triggered by them freaking out so if you remain calm and don’t trigger the timer, you can take your time analyzing the trap and figuring it out until you’re ready or until you’re rescued

**Mat goes over how to not be selected for jigsaw traps** Me: it's almost like Jigsaw was just a serial killer who justified his killings with terrible logic.

To be fair Serial Killers usually have a less broad victim profile. So that's actually a point against him being a Serial Killer. If anything he's a spree killer.

MatPat, Steph, and team, I am entrusting my 11 yo son's mind to you. I let him watch as much of your channels as he wants because I appreciate your sound research methods, transparency, and dedication to the truth, even in silly things. Please keep up the rigor. I'm counting on you.
