I'm actually really glad that Bluey is so popular overseas. As an Aussie, it can be so strange to understand most of the American slang or cultural stuff, but then for those in the US to largely have no idea about ours (except for massive inaccuracies, like how nobody here actually drinks Foster's Lager, and they're 'prawns' not 'shrimp' lmao). I feel like Bluey is helping the next gen of americans (and their parents) learn a little bit more about Australia and our slang/culture, like how american and british TV/movies do the same for us.
@prairiepanda Жыл бұрын
In Canada we use both "shrimp" and "prawn" but they refer to different things. Visually the most obvious difference is that shrimp have only one pair of claw-legs while prawns have three. There are a lot of other differences, though they aren't all true for all species. Shrimp are usually smaller and (at least the kinds we eat) are typically from saltwater. Prawns are usually larger, with much longer legs relative to their body size, and typically come from freshwater. So if you ever come to Canada, you're likely to see both shrimp and prawns on the same restaurant menus! Although if you look in the grocery stores things can get a little confusing, because we sometimes have products imported from the US which label prawns as "jumbo shrimp".....

Here's my opinions about some the theories: 1. I believe that all the baby dogs go through a transitional "dog" phase, where barking and growling as communication resembles early toddler "babbling". Especially now with the new The Sign episode that shows Socks walking on 2 legs! I think it's just a growing period between infant and toddler 2. The leashes could be also be used for cats, which are not anthropomorphic. In the episode where Bluey and her friends are playing shops, they sell things like leashes and treats for their pet CATS. I don't think there's anything nefarious about it.

I just started watching it October of last year or something, and it's actually worlds better than what I thought! Not to mention the hidden stuff about the magic of the world. It also fits in with Frozen II's canon, having the same elements of nature thing, the Sundrop being the Sun spirit/whatever, and that being Raps. The Moonstone doesn't have anyone that has it in them, even when Cass had the Moonstone, she was just using it and was not to be considered the Moonstone or Moon spirit herself. Even if you assume the Heelers are poor, maybe it's Rad's fault, the shiftless beach bum ;)

@@alastaircollins1145 It's hard to tell, really, but with episodes like Hammerbarn pointing out problems with the house and... I was wondering when Mat was FINALLY going to get around to this series. Another theory he could do with Bluey, is the idea of magic being real or not. Mostly because I want to see their rendition of Bluey cosplaying as the scarlet witch from Marvel. I know im late on this, but I would like to correct Matpat saying earth would look completely different in 4 million years. I am a geoscience major, and the reconstructions I have studied do not suggest that would be the case. We have to remember that the world is large, and that tectonic plates are not free. They are perfectly put together like puzzle pieces with barely any (if any) wiggle room. Because of this, a tectonic plate must have a stronger force or different density than the plates next to it to move. If they are moving at most 15cm per year without another plate boxing them in, I could see this as a possible way that tectonic plates could make the earth look really different within 4 million years, though this scenario is almost impossible with real life plate configuration. Also, we have to remember how large the Earth is. 15 cm is nothing when seen from a map view. The climate and sea level of a region is more likely to make the earth surface appear superficially different within that 4 million year span. However, 4 million years is more than enough time for a extinction event, especially if only one species is becoming extinct. I have to give Mat credit on that bit. Thank you guys for putting put such intriguing videos.

To Matpat: The original seasons of Thomas The Tank Engine and friends (around seasons 1 to 7) had episodes based on the railway series, written by the Reverend W. Awdry. These stories mirrored the transitions from steam to diesel trains happening on railways at the time the stories were written, in the form of most diesel engines in the show being portrayed as the antagonists. It is also shown in the show and books that steam engines that live outside the Island of Sodor, where the show takes place, are scrapped, meaning they are ripped and burned alive. In the show, we can see several scrapped steam engines, rusty, lifeless, corpses. These themes were toned down from the books, where we can see conscious steam engines being scrapped. The original Thomas seasons would be be really interesting to see in a film theory.

SHOW SUGGUESTION: Team UmiZoomi. I was fixated on this a few months ago, and I ask myself a few questions. Why do the humans live amogust these animated creatures? I like to think that "UmiZoomis" are what Mille, Geo, and Bot are. They must be aliens of some sort right? Sure they look kinda human but they are very small. So are every other "animated" character in the show. (Dispite there being animated characters being taller than the team.) What I head cannon is that the UmiZoomi species took over Earth, or perhaps just one city and reclaimed and renamed it "Umi City". That's why I also believe that's the species name of Team UmiZoomi. Also, at first I didn't think they were on Earth, but they have mentioned and shown that they were on Earth a few times. So, these aliens could have taken charge. But all the humans are cool with it, they all even know the team, always calling them if they need help(despite it mostly being children, but some adults know them too). A theroy I made is that the UmiZoomis made a deal with the humans in that city. The UmiZommis take it over and three of their people will always come to their aid, no matter how simple the task. I also wonder why Umicar suddenly came to life? For the first season, he wasn't sentient, just a normal car. But then season 2 and after, he suddenly had eyes and a mouth and spoke his own name. Also also, the team can kinda just do whatever they want. They took over a farm to deliver milk, and fixed an airplane so it can take off. They just take charge of things whenever. Another reason why I think their species took over, with them doing so, they just come in and fix it. There's so much to cover in this little math show and I hope Matt considers.

My niece is obsessed with Bluey, and honestly it’s the one modern show for small children I can honestly appreciate. I love how the kids act like pretty normal kids - complete with their tendencies to hyperfixating on a specific interest sometimes and being in their own little worlds - while the parents have a more dynamic presence in the story than to just exist in their kids’ own little worlds or be a means of conflict (there was this silly little one where Bingo was trying to create a pretend meal that mimicked the one the parents were making, and it included the parents chilling and enjoying themselves, while sometimes getting impacted by Bingo’s shenanigans, but neither being an active presence or conflict in it.) It’s very reflective of how my experience has been helping raise my niece - she’s often in her own little world, and sometimes I’m a part of it directly, but most of the time I’m just following along and watching her vibe and live her best life and kind of trying to figure out what on earth is happening.

The Bluey universe could just be ours, but humans weren't a thing. Like no humans ever existed, it was always dogs. Just maybe (i just realized he said that-)

Regarding Socks acting like a real dog, in Season 3, Socks started acting more human-like. The standing theory is that she's on the spectrum.

yup! i agree, she seems to be just developing slower than bluey did, she's past bluey's baby stage physically, but mentally/emotionally, she acts younger.

I think it's been co firmed that they were supposed to act like dogs as baby then as people when they got older. But the creator changed his mind when making the baby race episode

If I had a nickel for every time matpat made a dark theory about a kids show starring a blue dog I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

I would LOVE to see an Odd Squad theory. I loved that show as a kid, and still love it now. I’ve always had this theory that the squad was made by government officials to act sort of as a SCP foundation. And the reason that it’s comprised of only children, is because: 1) Kids don’t care about being paid. 2) Kids are better prepared to mentally handle the Elterich nightmares that they have to deal with, because they won’t think about it too hard and except it for what it is

I'm glad someone else liked Odd Squad! And there was definitely a lot going on in that show.

huh, I always thought it was weird how they acted so normal to things like flying goldfish and books coming to life

@@Gambling_Dragons Exactly! Kids wouldn’t think about the horrifying ramifications of The possibility of your food gaining sentience, unlike adults would. Not to mention, they don’t pay their workers, and don’t charge people for their services, so how do they have a budget? The answer: THE GOVERNMENT!!!
