Superman is my fav but I'm personally not that hyped. I wanted a Superman movie not a super friends movie. I'd bet that Superman's gonna be second fiddle to the rest of the cast and/ or Lois like modern Superman stuff.

@@Sarpiente He won’t, the film will be Superman centered. The other heroes are side characters, so they’ll likely be in the film for 2-5 minutes max. And the reason they’re even in the film is for world building and plot purposes, which is fine. Superman will still be doing Superman doings for 2 hours, people are just overreacting here. And for further consideration, the Oppenheimer movie had tons of characters and actors in it (far more than this film), yet the film was still 90% Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer and NO one took away from him. The worry here is unwarranted.

It started halfway through marvel s run and giving this needless attention and hype gave the impression to the studios that the masses will gobble up whatever the put out. Now we are lucky to get a mediocre product and we shout it from the rooftops. Then wonder why most of the product is trash.

I don't hate it but it isn't my favorite, I don't like the "S" either. DC keeps tweek their image... they reboot too quickly. ( they could have a great run of Cavill's Superman, but they kill him off, then, Resurrect him for the last half of the third movie, then were going to turn him Evil in the next unmade, movie. What about telling great NOT DEPRESSING Superman stories? ) They can't seem to stick to One Superman, any more. The Original Superman movies weren't great, except for the first one, but at least we got 4 movies and then one with Brandon Routh, of the same Superman, after Christopher Reeve was disabled.

the suit look bad for several reasons. we dont even need to compare him to cavill version to see this point. 1. corenswet his a big dude so having the "S" so small makes him look kinda fat. 2. the power ranger hue in colors just aint it, looks like preschool lunch case. 3. the collar around his neck makes him look like a space cadet or priest (weak archetypes and not someone who can move planets) 3. no evidence of hitting the gym (AT ALL!!) 4. the fact that he facially resembles cavill makes him appear like a budget superman. 5 the space between the "S" and the thick "karate like" yellow belt is a blue ocean of nothing but belly, no abs or nothing. 6 and symmetrically cornswet is not V tapered like most renditions of superman, so he looks like a tall popsicle (pause). I'm an artist so i have a keener perspective on why subconsciously people hate this suit.

I can give you a medical reason, soft plaque is not easily visible without injecting a contrast fluid in the blood, and most heart attacks are caused by soft plaque, but usually when you are at the point of having dangerous soft plaque you also have a lot of calcified plaque that is easily visible with x-rays so you have a point.

Way over hyped. Looks like flatly lit digital TV junk, pandering to people who tongue kiss dogs in front of company. Music is an okay pastiche of John Williams via Harold Faltermeyer's Top Gun anthem, but it pales in comparison to Zimmer's building burn. Even though I don't love Snyder's take either, Zimmer's music is incredibly affecting with an inspirationally galvanizing resonance that John Williams' superficial stirring just doesn't compare to, and neither does John Murphy's attempt to try to have it both ways. I know exactly what a perfect Superman ought to be, and this still ain't that either. Not on any level. And I don't mean "comic accurate" from the hundreds of numbskulls who have convoluted the character, I mean singularly focused soaring cinema. Definitive cinematic Superman done proper won't be made by a flippant glorified barista who thinks sadistic jokes about abusing children is so hilarious that he just has to share it as one of his signature gags on social media. This disturbingly effeminate snide little depraved hipster is fundamentally the wrong auteur to realize Superman's wholesomely masculine strength and noble sense of integral optimism for truth, justice, and the American way. I should be in charge at Warner Bros. If I were, Thundercats would rule as the supreme franchise no one knew they needed until it blew every epically fantastical thing before it right out of the water by being taken stone cold serious as a harrowingly mythic saga achieved on startling scale of visceral immediacy and lyrical grandeur. What a shame WB will squander all potential with no vision other than to give it over to a wristband wearing hack. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Superman looks lika biggo pizza trashe!

To Chris: Well, observations about the trailer for people whom have not worked (as properly paid writers/pencillers/inkers) for DC/Marvel/Dark Horse will "vary". But for those of us whom ever made rent/utilities/grocery money from comic book writing and/or illustration (and still receive royalties from comic-book work), our opinion of this trailer is very different, and for the most part, very positive. And the opinions of ex-retailers who joined the "game" as late as the year 2000 will not matter as much. They *sold* the fish, but we risked drowning, or being eaten by a shark, to catch the fish, which the goober-retailers *sold* . And they know it. Caveat: the smarter retailers (in business since before 1992) are far mor savvy, so my comment here does not apply to them. Anyhoo, Merry Christmas, and it's great to hear how you support your progeny in their appreciation of genre... Well done. 🎄

While I also wish we had the follow up to MAN OF STEEL, and prefer Cavill’s Superman, I still like this version so far. The CGI will be replaced by the time the movie comes out. And I don’t mind this new Supersuit. Is it my favorite? No. But I have felt that way throughout the comic books. I basically hated the New 52 version, but was willing to live with it for some good stories (of which I don’t remember getting many). This is *these* artists rendering. I’m willing to give it a chance and am intrigued. But totally respect and honor other fans despising it so far and not being psyched at all for it.

The teaser trailer looked generic AF, to me. Maybe it's the lack of dialogue. Maybe it's the absolute over hype I have seen for it. Maybe it's because all I see is people saying it "looks hopefull," usually accompanied with a dig at Zack Snyder... 'Hopefull...' How??? The colour palate? Kyrpto? Not hating on it, and there are parts I liked from it, as well as its teaser (of the teaser), but sorry, personally, I think it looks very generic. I hope James Gunn includes similar underlining themes that were present in MOS And BVS, because I think the reason the general audiences find Superman boring, is because he is usually very two dimensional in the film medium. Would be great if we could move on from John Williams' Superman theme as well. Once again, not hating on it - it's iconic, but let's create something new. The score for MOS was absolutely powerful

I've never been excited for a "new" Superman. I was raised on Christopher Reeve. He is Superman. Everyone else is just trying to match his inimitable quality. (Sorry Cavill.) THIS is the one type of movie where I'm down for a new approach. This isn't like we need to make movies more diverse, or less sexist, or more pro-communist or whatever. This is: we already reached the pinnacle with Reeve. No one else is Superman. We must do something different now. Let's try to do something different and not the same thing over and over and failing over and over.

We don't need yet another Superman movie. It's been done and overdone in every way possible by now. I'd really like to see something, anything, original. A new story, new characters, new worlds. If I want to watch Superman, there're plenty of versions of movies, TV shows, books and comics to enjoy already. Overhyped or not, the big picture perspective is that it's a very positive thing for comic book fans who want to see the genre do well in film. When was the last time that a comic book movie garnered such a positive response? Over half a decade ago when the last of the Infinity movies were coming out? The fact of the matter is that comic book movies have been on the decline for years now. If Superman: Legacy can get more enthusiasm into the genre as a whole, it's a net win for movie goers who enjoy such movies. If Superman: Legacy is a good film at minimum, hopefully it'll change the direction of the current standards of comic book movies, which are in need of a paradigm shift.

The guitar is wrong, all the shots are of Superman being attacked or hurt, the CG is again bad, and James Gunn pissing all over the trailer just turned me off. This didn't work for me. I'm just not interested in general. I was totally disappointed by the Snyder films, so I just have no interest anymore. It's all just a cash grab and isn't about the heart of the comics anymore. At least I have Richard Donner's films: he and Chris truly made me believe a man can fly.

Trailer starts with superman spitting blood only a few can do this to superman doomsday/darkseid, or kryptonite, even with krypotonite still need immense power to punch superman to antartica... perhaps a kryptonian? then have him folded to the point he can't move. Expectations are definitely too high but it’s justified all the same. Justice league was garbage, nobody would argue that. As a result, if we’re getting another Superman movie it has to be a game changer. But we literally got snippets from the teaser, to develop any opinion based off of it is super premature. There’s also a weird thing in cinema culture right now where people say they don’t like a because they travelled too far from the source material but will also complain that a movie isn’t original enough so there’s also a good chance that what people want out of movies is becoming too much to keep up with. People should also try to wrap their heads around the idea that maybe superman is just a cheesy character that’s hard to make very serious in a film

I thought it was a mistake to release a photo of Superman with Krypto prior to the release of the trailer. Krypto's reveal from behind the giant snow cloud was suppose to create excitement but falls flat because of the prior knowledge of the dog being in the film.
