I watched this live on Jools that night and went out the next day to buy the album. Quickly followed by a ticket for their Barrowland gig in Glasgow. Still one of the best gigs I've seen.

Just watched Gunpowder Milkshake and this song is the final piece of the OST. Fudging amazing! At least that's what Anna May played by Angela Bassett would say. Most excellent song by a most excellent band. Although Mercury Rev was highly esteemed in the UK, they were very underrated here in the states getting little airplay. Unfortunately they can't replicate the superior sound and dynamics of the album recording. One of my fave albums of the 90s, and I didn't hear it until 2003, though i had heard about it in the LA Times when it was new.

actually knowing about music and bass lines. the bassist didn't do quite the familiar 'bouncy' style bass line like in the actual recording... no insult to the song or band. actually i don't think this is their best performance but they are brilliant OBVIOUSLY!
