i used to have an 2-sided A3-fomat weekly planner in an A6-fold, designed completely in MS Publisher ... i finally gave up on that perfectionists' mind trap ... now i do everything in a minimalist A6-format BuJo without any foldouts, stickers, glow pens, washi tape, or any of those distractions ... it's a blessing.

When you cut eight sheets, the paper is oriented the other way. You mention the fold-out being slightly smaller. That small reduction over eight sheets saves enough space to give you the ninth. And I look forward to trying this out. It looks suitable to fit the notes I keep to update my monthly work tracker on one page in a pocket notebook.

A4 dimensions: 210mm x 297mm. A7 dimensions: 74mm x 105mm. With a tiny amount of rounding you get.... 210mm ÷ ~70mm = 3. AND 300mm ÷ 100mm = 3. So, 3x3.

9bsquares don't need margin for binder holes

You folded the sheet into thirds, and again into thirds. 3² = 9 If you had folded it in half instead and then half again and half again 2³ = 8.

Good comment. Cheers.

The folds are in thirds while the 8 sheet fold is in halves..

Yes indeed. It confused me a little bit, but I quite like this set up.

which binder is this?

This fold is for a mini sized organiser.

What size would the paper be with a mini binder that has 6 rings? I just purchased a mini binder that is slightly larger than my 5-ring mini binder. An index card is just slightly too big. I think there is a 6-ring mini plotter that refils might work. My 5-ring a7 paper fits but I still have about 15-20 mm of space that I'm not using at the top.

Interesting, and thanks for the feedback. I haven't tried this yet with the six ring binder.

6 rings usually are "pocket" size, which is in-between A7 and A6. The width of A6 (105mm ) is kind of OK for pocket-size ringbinders. The biggest difference is the height 148mm whereas most pocket ringbinders are about 140 tall or less. Thereby A6 would generally stick out quite a bit. A7 however looks lost in pocket-sized ones, too small. So if you are cutting your own paper, my advice is to use A6 and trim it mostly in length.

Good advice.

@@fastandcurious I ended up getting A4 Tomoe River, 52GSM paper and cutting it down to A7. That is very different from using the "A7" paper I was using. The A4 cut down paper fits much better and is true A7 size.
