Hey man, just want to say thanks for the video! Your video here was my very first introduction to a Filson garment. That was about a year ago and now I have a bunch of Filson gear and love most of them. Keep up the great videos, and thanks again for sharing! - Brett

Just ordered my tin cruiser. Looking forward to wearing it at work in this -10 weather with layers. I have the double tin pants and they block 100% of the biting wind. Very durable work wear and couldn’t be happier with filson

This jacket has Way too many holes for two years use for my taste. How did you get so many holes in it? Also what oz. cloth is used in it?

Truly jealous! Mine is just as filthy but lacks the holes. If it gets like yours I will buy a new one and save the old one for best.

when you re-wax. Does it seep through and saturate the lining, making the lining stiff? I re-waxed an old Barbour style jacket and the wax went right through to the lining...

Filson gear is design to when you tear it in some area you can still wear it with pride! its not trash like a few have said and I dont know of any other gear that I own that I cant wait for it to tear a little... A torn Filson anything is awsome.

You won't get a response. I didn't. That is IMO - one of the worse things a YTube Channel can do is make a video.....THEN say "any questions, send me a message/comment" - - then one who takes the time to watch the video and then DO EXACTLY what the person who made the video says to do - and then Do It. And get absolutely No Response. Kinda makes one feel like "they were used for the view." Hate to sound so harsh because I don't 'think I have ever left a response to a video like this before but it's more than likely no big deal because it isn't #1- Gonna get read and/or #2- 'MAY' get read but won't be responded to anyway. So I'm not missing out either way.🙃🤔

Well i don't think the sleeves are hemed and the tin jacket material is kind of heavy duty until it rips. Than one rip turns out and gets bigger...and bigger...and bigger.

Check out their repair department. They will repair all of that and itll be as good of new. They back up their products and after the repair, it will tell a even cooler story of wear and reuse. I cannot recommend their repair department enough. And usually its free!

What year is that? I have a near 20 year old Tin Cruiser, heavily worn in vey tough conditions, and it has not worn nearly as bad as yours. I just bought a second one brand new, and it is definitely not the same material as my original.
@gsdlvr1236 жыл бұрын
Yep agreed - I have old Tin Cloth merchandise (from 30-40 years ago) and recently (past year) ordered a couple of other items - I totally agree the material seems very different - not nearly as tough and the stitching seems much weaker! We own a horse farm on a river and I use the stuff - the old Tin Cloth products were VERY tough. I'm looking for another company but have yet to find one that has the quality/materials that Filson used too.

Doug Chastain no other company...I actually bought another Tin Cloth Filson field coat...I think that’s it...the one with the map/game pocket in back. I’ve had it for about a year I think. So far it’s nice - very heavy. I must say I think Carharrt (sp?) still makes a nice value jacket. I like the new Filson and it seems like it’ll hold up. My wife said it’s now discontinued...lol.

I just ordered two days ago the Filson Tin Cloth Short Lined Cruiser Jacket along with the Oil Finish Double Tin Pants. Can you tell me what to expect? I'm extremely used to RAW 18oz. to 23 oz. Loomstate Denim, so I have that covered. I own the LC King unlined chore coat, soon to be Otter Waxed along with other Raw Denim coats. But to me, the holy grail has always been Filson. Is there anything you can clue me into with the oil/tin cloth combo? It'd be much appreciated, I'm counting down the days on my calendar.😄

@@MrPocketfullOfSteel you wrote like 4 paragraphs of rambling incoherent product catalog descriptions to ask 1 question. The answer is that this feels nothing like denim, because it's not made of denim. It feels like heavy oilcloth/ waxed canvas because it's made out of that. What else would you expect?

The "newer" Filson is no where near as good as the older Filson. My Filson wore out so quickly, and it shrunk as well. Also it gets so stiff in the cold, to the point of being uncomfortable and loud. The constant rubbing is the demise of the product, I don't want to bash it, but i'll stay with my beloved Carhartt .For the money i was disappointed with Filson.

From a user perspective, I would be pissed if my $300+ jacket looked like that after 2 years. I have shirts and underwear that look better than that after years of wear. I've had my Haley Stevenson wax jacket that I wore and dragged with me daily for 3 years in better condition than that.
