I think Dusty has done a great job keeping his house clean and I agree that the Horse feed can be kept clean and dry in the kitchen. Its tidy and out the way and people keep dog and cat food in the kitchen, so in my opinion its the same as that.

As a horse owner it’s important the food is kept clean and dry I agree. Rodents are a HUGE problem if you store it just anywhere outside and most horse bins are not actually rodent proof. I actually have a feed shed with heavy duty feed storage that I store mine in that I’ve spent a long time rodent proofing. Yes, determined rodents can eat through those standard bins. So completely disagree with this woman and I wouldn’t say it’s a health risk it’s just horse feed.

The guy did a great job of keeping his house clean and tidy as much as possible, and she didn't give him one compliment, which is quite sad. And the horse food was organized, not all over the place. So, for me, she overreacted. He even kept his windows very clean, which was a significant issue in the past. I hope he keeps doing good work.

I have OCD although I'm not as obsessive with cleaning as some people (a lot of my compulsions are very different to what you expect) but I do freak out about animal dirts (and I have pets) but I don't get the issue with food at all. Horse feed is going to be natural and contain the same healthy foods we as humans are recommended. It's not like he's keeping the manure in the house. I don't get her problem.

There's no way I ever get to steam and bleach my Christmas ornaments. They're all vintage, 60-70 y.o. , hand painted. I inherited them from my grandparents and I've really fond memories of my childhood Christmas preparations. As for throwing away season cards, I think you'll never keep memories, you'll never get to read a loving note from a dear friend that passed away for example 😕

Who puts their Christmas tree up & takes it down ON the day the Christmas tree has been up for the last 25 days?? Says she hates the tree being up though will have the tree up for 24 days prior then on the 25th day, in which the tree is all about, she takes it down!?? The ocd's homes may be extremely clean but they have a lot of visual clutter with all their colorful decorations, orange walls, etc. It would look less stressful with more neutrals imo

Great video. Interesting to see how people are now following their time on the show. Disappointing to see some people resorting back to their old ways in spite of the hard work that was undertaken to restore people's homes to a degree of order and good hygiene. You can make excuses but when you've lived in chaos and a mess it should make you more proactive when aiming to keep your home in a tidy state. Tired of excuses with having had a difficult year. Not every day of the year would have been difficult. Speaks volumes: laziness. It's reminiscent to that a smoker - if you don't really want to quit smoking then you'll never give-up.

Some of them are in denial that there's a problem. The old stresses come back, so the soothing behaviour comes back. Without ongoing therapy, like any addiction, the whole thing can become overwhelming again. I wish the OCD sufferers were followed up as well to see if they're receiving help, but most of them just seem to think their behaviour is how everyone should be. I feel sad for their families.

I thought I was mad how I do my Xmas tree. I start my husband helping me once the tree is up we go round the tree with the lights, then the Tinsel goes on every 2 sets of branches down. The ornaments go on 2 branches apart & colour coding them in order & not 2 cluttered with so much stuff on the tree. It takes me & hubby about 1-2 hours 2 do the tree. He knows my OCD is bad & he loves Xmas so that’s why he excepts it he’s starting 2 get a bit of OCD him self lol

I usually enjoy these episodes, but this one made me kind of irritated. You can see that most of the people who needed help cleaning their houses did their best to keep them clean by sort of normal standards, or at least you can see that they are trying. The OCD people didn't change a bit! Except for Alison... The other woman and HER tree, HER standard, SHE feels happy, and she has two children who she still once a week bath is chemicals! And SHE doesn't see the problem! Seriously irritated!

OCD is an incredibly difficult condition to manage or treat, the hoarders on this show are mostly non-clinical I.e it isn't as a result of their own OCD, so their progress is commendable but not the same struggle really. I had perinatal OCD and had treatment for a long time, thankfully I'm doing well now but compulsions are so overwhelming

Cleaning your kids with Dettol is surely not healthy, is it? Is it made to come in touch with infant skin??

Dettol is in fact safe to put in a bath so long as it’s diluted. I grew up having a cap of dettol in the bath, by the time you’ve filled the bath, added soap etc it’s a very weak solution. Just a reference point certain, for skin conditions doctors recommend small amounts of bleach in the bath to help with the problem. Edit: Just did a quick search and dettol is medically advised for douching (when recommended by a medical practitioner). If it’s safe enough for your nether regions, it coming in contact with your skin is not particularly an issue.

@@natalya7208 it may be considered safe for adult skin but when we try to only use the purest on children, I would avoid such a chemical liquid at all costs. But of course each to their own, if it's generally considered safe I wouldn't object to others using it if they wanted to. I just wouldn't.

I couldn't cope in the house with the tree being pulled down at 2pm on Christmas day that's crazy to me 😱. Although I'm a crazy Christmas lady who goes big at Christmas with 12 Christmas trees in my home plus loads of other Christmas decor and I'm definitely not a minimalist but my home is very clean and tidy but it is also just very festive. I think these trees they put up look very sad and I would hate my tree smelling of bleach yuk🤢. I do feel for them though as it is ocd condition they have. I can be a bit strick about how my trees are dressed they have to be done right and decorations placed nicely so do get that side of things but I don't measure distance between baubles if I did I would never get all my trees decorated lol 😂.
