It helps when the home owner is as accommodating as Josephine . A lovely lady- approachable and friendly with an easy pleasant manner. It was great to see the bond that was built up between her and the cleaners in such a warm and friendly atmosphere. I hope Sandra keeps in touch with Josephine.

Truly the loveliest episode so far. Josephine is so lovely and Richard and Sandra seemed really fond of her. I think it would be so easy to fall into the trap of hoarding in a house so huge. Like Richard said that room where everything was put was like the clutter drawer in our house. With so many rooms to look after it must be like painting the Forth Bridge. As soon as you finish you start again. It's no wonder that Josephine without a team of servants has to give a bit and let some rooms go. I hope her new venture is a complete success xx

I was wondering why Josephine's 6 (probably adult) kids hadn't contributed over the years in terms of helping their mum out and cleaning some of the rooms that were too much for an old lady to deal with alone. I know, they may have homes of their own in different counties or even overseas, but Josephine did mention to the cleaners they hadn't been cleaned in 40 years! Seems to me they are not that interested in their heritage that Josephine is trying so hard to hold onto. I agree the house is no way as bad as some of the others in the episodes past and she is a much more accommodating owner for the cleaners to deal with, but yeah, just wondering about those kids of hers!!
@bisibisbi
@bisibisbi 2 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. She´s 84, so her children might be in their 40s and 50s, maybe there are adult grandchildren already. And no one is helping her? Sad.
@dee-smart
@dee-smart 2 жыл бұрын
@@bisibisbi Yes it seems to me she is not on good terms with them. Seems like after they grew up and moved on, they just couldn't be bothered with the house at all. Surely they could have financially helped to get cleaners in perhaps a long time ago. The house is ruined in parts. If I were her, I'd have sold up and moved into an easier living situation and whatever is left of her financial estate when she dies can be divided up, but they miss the chance to have the house. Better for her I'd say to be in a smaller easier to manage home.

I'll never understand why people equate seeing someone elderly to being a completely innocent person full of kindness. She could have been a tyrant as a parent, so a busive that she completely alienated her children and they want nothing to do with her. It's exactly what my grandmother did to my mother and I, the horror stories are countless. Children don't owe their parents anything, they never had a choice about whether or not they were brought into the world. That's just how it is. Whenever a parent has been left alone like she has I don't think she has neglectful children but is most likely reaping what she sowed.
@dee-smart
@dee-smart 2 жыл бұрын
@@fawnieee You could be right but no-one can tell. Going on the show she seemed fine. My parents were abused by my brother who had been raped through the church and never told them or me. Years later at 25 he married and left them. They never saw their grandchildren and were treated appallingly by the woman and her family. They had been very caring, loving and attentive parents to my brother and suffice to say I have nothing to do with him or his kids. That was his choice, but I am relieved I don't know that sociopath. I'm just saying you could be reading things wrong too. We will never know, will we.

Josephine has six children and none of them helped her keep the manor tidy over the years. At lease one popped up at the end of the restoration to help in serving guests. It was a lovely video today and I have to say that I am fascinated that Sandra came with a tiny itzy bitzy bag whilst her cleaning partner had a huge suitcase.😂

It was great to see new episode of Filth!👍. It seem to hard throw away things, in older age. Things are often belonged of partner, parent, or child. These people are become attached with old things. Big, slow challenge to Richard and Sandra. Sandra was nice person, she talk with Josephine, and "broken the ice". Lot of room cleaning stayed with out to see.

I'm truely impressed by these programs. One might think people who live in these mansions are snobs and treat others badly. So far I've only seen one episode where the owner was screaming and rude. Generally I'm very pleasantly surprised how humble and nice these people are and I'm very moved by the way they all start to get involved with each other's stories. This program is about much more than filthy houses and obsessive cleaners. I hope we can all be a little less judgemental and more compassionate. And hopefully down the line we can all confront ourselves with our fears and heal some old wounds to move forward to a better life. Thanks! 🙏❤️

WHAT A LOVELY LADY JOSAPHINE IS, AND WHAT WONDERFULL STORY'S SHE HAS TO TELL ABOUT THE PAST AND HER FAMILY ANSESTORS, SOME VERY SAD, BUT AMAZING STORY'S NEVER THE LESS, EVEN THE STORY ABOUT THE FUNARAL BABY, AND WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU MOVE IT, OR TAKE IT OUT OF 5HE FAMILY HOME, MARVELOUS, AND ITS NOT SPOOKY OR STRANGE ITS JUST WHAT THAY DID TO REMEMBER PPL WHO PASSED AWAY IN THOSE TIMES, JUST LIKE WE WOULD HAVE A PHOTO OF OUR BABY IF IT WAS SADLEY STILL BORN, THAY DIDNT HAVE CAMRA AT THAT POINT IN THOSE DAYS SO THE ONLY WAY TO REMEMBER A LOVED ONE WOULD BE BY PORTRAITE, OR BY MAKING A DOLL IN THE IMAGINE OF THE DEAD BABY, AND DRESSING IT IN THE BABYS CLOTHING, AND THE DOLL HAD SUCH A SWEET LITTLE FACE ASWELL, IT WASN'T AN UGLY LOOKING BABY OR HORRIBLE AS SOME BABYS ARE, IT WAS A SWEET LITTLE BABY BOY. NOTHING FRIGHTENING ABOUT IT AT LL, FUNNY HOW THE WELSH LASS PICKED UP ON THE ENERGY OF 5HE HAUNTED ROOM STRAIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS SHE WALKED IN THERE TOO, AND HOW IN THE MORNING SHE SAW SOME ONE(OBVIOUSLY ONE OF JOSAPHINE LATE RELATIVES) IN THE GARDEN FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AS SHE OPENED THE BEDROOM CURTINS, THAT TURNED AROUND AND LOOKED UP AT HER👀👻👍🏻 AND HOW KIND OF JOSAPHINE TO JUST PASS IT OFF AND REASHURE HER THAT THE HOUSE IS NOT HAUNTED AT ALL, SO AS TO NOT WORRY HER WHILST SHE STAYS THERE, MAKING HER STAY AS COMFORTABLE AS SHE POSSIBLY CAN FOR HER... WHAT A LOVELY LADY JOSAPHINE REALY IS, ID3 LOVE TO SPEND SOME TIME TALKING TO JOSAPHINE, I BET SHE GOT SOME REALY INTERESTING STORY'S TO TELL ABOUT THE PAST AND HER FAMILY, AND THE THINGS THAT HAPPEND IN AND TO THE HOME AND THE GROUNDS AND THE PAST FAMILY AND ALL THE PAST SERVANTS THAT WORKED THERE, I BET SHE HAS MARVELOUS STORY'S TO TELL OF PAST YEARS GON BY, I COULD LISTEN TO JOSAPHINE FOR WEEKS ON END AND NEVER GET BORD, I LOVE LEARNING THINGS FROM PAST TIME AND HISTORY, ALSO JUST TO ADD THAT JOSAPHINE HAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUNDING VOICE, THAT WOULD JUST KEEP ME INTRIGUED ALL THE MORE WHILST TALKING TO HER AND LISTENING TO HER TELL HER STORY'S OF YEARS GON BY TOO. 👍🏻👍🏻 YES WHAT A WONDERFULL LADY SHE IS BLESS HER, I HOPE HER IDEA FOR HOLDING DINNER PARTY'S TO PAYING GUESTS PULLS OFF AND SHE IS ABLE TO EARN A BIT OF EXTRA CASH TO HELP HER WITH THE UP KEEP AND GENRALY RUNNING OF THE MAN NOR HOUSE, ITS A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE AND HOME AND GROUNDS, AND IT WOULD BE SUCH A SHAME TO SEE IT GET IN EVEN MORE DISREPAIR, THAN IT HAS ALREADY GOTTEN IN.. After I stayed in a traditional house in coastal England, now I actually understand where all that "haunted house" stories comes from. Basically it's a large house full of tiny rooms, each full of several dozens of nicknacks and it's so humid everything that could rust rusts fast and crieks every time it's touched by the lightest gasp of wind. Ghosts aren't much a thing in my traditional culture. (We nearly don't have the genre of horror to begin with. Some mysticism yes, but classic horror no).
