Neither home was beautiful, not by any stretch of the imagination. Both had been so badly damaged, it would have taken many thousands of dollars....or whatever is used in the UK...to pay for all the numerous repairs needed. This is a very old episode, and I believe the old woman is long dead. The younger woman's dog is dead, died about ten years ago of old age (that's per a followup episode of how well they maintained their homes...it was shot a year after, and the woman had gone right back to hoarding, long before the dog died, so there they were again, exactly the same situation).

The younger woman went right back to hoarding almost as soon as the cleaners left, and the dog died of old age in the one year after her house was cleaned. And you're right, the homes are not beautiful, especially not the old woman's apartment....far too much damage had been done to both homes, and neither woman had the means to have the damages repaired.

Her dog 'Two Socks' is a terrier. When she's 'rummaging around' she's likely looking for, and finding, vermin in that hoard. It's what terriers often will do. The same way a 'herding breed' will herd. If there are no animals, they'll often 'herd' their people, instead.

The dog is dead. It died around ten years ago...this is a very old episode...and it died of old age. The woman went right back to hoarding almost as soon as the other two who cleaned for her were done, and long before the dog died.

No, they are NOT "beautiful," not by any stretch of the imagination. The younger woman went right back to her hoarding nearly as soon as the cleaners left....there was a followup episode shot a year later (the dog died in that year, too)...and it's highly likely the old woman died since the production of this episode. It's at least ten years old, more like 12 or 13.

Yes, and it's still dirty. But, better than it was before. That one lady's yard is full of rubbish! She must not have any neighbors near to complain! When your hoard leaves the inside of your house you are making it not just your problem!

Yes i agree still too much clutter and definitely not clean. The hoarder shows in the US are left in a much better condition. You are right about the outside of Judiths house being a mess it wouldn't be allowed where I live. It could be made beautiful. Judith is a very sweet and lovable young woman and I wish her all the best. I'm happy for what has been done for her so far.🤗

I dont think anyone, your mom, your friend, your partner, buys you tat that they expect you to keep and revere forever. people buy gifts mostly because they have to get you something. it's mostly meaningless, so, keeping it forever like it's some sort of spritual relic is mindboggling to me.

Your comment is extremely difficult to read, but I'm assuming you're saying that nobody expects the survivors to save everything (or even anything) upon their deaths. If that's what you're saying, you're correct; my parents died just 13 days apart 18 years ago (Dad died first), and in her last few days of life, Mom told my siblings and me that we were to feel free to get rid of every single thing if we wanted to, and we did. Other than selling the antiques she and Dad collected...they were not hoarders, but were very careful, deliberate collectors...we just trashed everything from their 55 years of life together. None of us wanted anything other than pictures of them, and that's all anyone has.

I am blessed that I am a purger not a hoarder. I am stressing over small pile I’m my second bedroom that needs to go o charity. I hope these ladies can get some emotional support, especially Judith. Having Asperger’s is difficult. My parents were not really hoarders, but they kept odd stuff like receipts from the 60’s and 70’s that couldn’t even be read. So not exactly like mother like daughter. Mia think you either do what your parents did or the opposite. Bless these ladies and their helpers.

She also had/has rotten teeth. An episode was shot a year after the cleanup, following a number of hoarders to see how they'd done keeping up their cleanre homes...she didn't, she fell right back into her hoarder ways almost as soon as the cleaners left the first time (the dog died about a month prior to the followup, too, but it was old age, nothing related to the filthy, rat-infested house). Her teeth in the followup were so rotted out, they were nothing but brown stumps, so she was very sick with something. I don't know what an enlarged thyroid would do to a person, but she was/is one sick young woman.

Her dog died about a month prior to the followup episode a year after the original clean, but she couldn't use that as an excuse because she admitted to "giving up" again and not trying to keep up the cleaner environment.

I'm a aspie too. Aspergers people are called aspies. And I have adhd to as a comorbidity. Life is hard as a autistic person who has 2 masters degrees and a working hard as phD candidate In social situations I'm.a.wreck. I'm a nightmare to go.to parties with I just dot know how with my brain going so fast Imm luckily not a hoarder but I have friends who.are. snd it's too many hyperfocuses that never get done 😢

The posted date on these videos are misleading. They're all quite old, around ten to 12 years, at the very least. The dog in the one woman's home is dead from old age, and died a year after the clean....they showed the woman in a "what are they doing now?" episode shot a year later, and she had gone right back to her clutter and garbage habits, and she said the dog had died about a month prior to the episode. It'd be nice if they'd put the actual date of the episode somewhere so people aren't mislead by what seems to be a current episode.

They typically don't; there are cleaners in the UK who will do charity cleans, never asking for any money. They already have enough clientele that they can afford to offer their services for such cleanups as these on occasion. This episode is around ten to 12 years old...the old woman is likely dead now; she was 79 in this episode, and in very bad physical condition, it appeared. The younger woman went right back to her hoarding nearly as soon as the cleaners left, and her dog died about a year after the clean was done. If you're talking about how do they afford all the junk, that's so easy, it's nearly a no-brainer; dumpster diving, junk stores (such as Dollar Tree, and all the ones under that same umbrella category), freebies given to them, any money that's given to them as a gift. Lots and lots of ways of acquiring junk, and they're typically masters at it.

Someone, please enlighten me: How do these people afford to fill their homes with items they obviously haven't used or even seen in years? I'm sure some of them are getting benefits they probably shouldn't even be getting if they have too much money to spend on junk to fill their living spaces. I just saw a woman almost running into the grocery store and she had a handicapped card in her car. I was parked next to her because I can barely walk and my husband was in getting a few items. I'M handicapped, walking is terribly painful so seeing someone taking up a space for someone else that has trouble walking really annoys me. If you can walk or almost run and are having a very GOOD day it would be nice if you parked in a regular spot and let the people that have trouble walking take that space. There are only 2 spots in the entire lot for handicapped people to park at this particular store.

I understand, some people take advantage when they are not handicapped. I am sorry you run into that. I Just wanted to make a couple of general comments on the topic. I questioned a friend I had not seen in ages, why he had a handicap sticker. His handicap of severe heart disease was not visible. I take an elderly person for groceries with me. One day he was a fall risk I and wished I could park closer. I dropped off, went quickly in, and brought the car to the door quickly thereafter. I did not think it safe to leave the person unattended. I also made a complaint at the store as they removed benches near the door inside and outside. Really with the size of some stores, it might be smart to have a couple of benches in the shopping areas too. Whether the person has a permanent handicap or recovering from an illness... Also needed for those who take the senior bus as they have to wait sometimes to be picked up. I know people can order groceries. A lot of people want to choose their own food, do not have s smart phone, or pay the fee. It is slso perhaps their only social outing of the week.

British houses seem quite small to start with no their hoards seem worse I think. Hope they get psychological help they need too as hoarding is a mental disorder. The results are indeed impressive tho. Brave ladies, facing their issues is a promising start for, hopefully, a better life for them

Hoarding isn't always a mental disorder, and people need to stop calling it that. Just like so many other catchall "diagnoses," everyone wants to call a penchant for junk and trash a "mental disorder," and it's inaccurate. Yes, many UK homes are very small, at least by our American standards, and hoarding clutter makes their misuse of space a real issue. "Crippled" really had nothing to do with it....and she wasn't crippled, she was extremely fat and couldn't get around well because of it, as well as her having had a very bad heart condition...just look at the deep dark circles under her eyes. She's very likely dead now, this episode being around ten years old, and she was 79 in it.

Beautiful????? These two houses certainly are not/were not beautiful!! The old woman is likely dead by now, so whether she hears anything, or not, is immaterial. She was 79 when this episode was made, had a very serious heart condition in addition to being extremely obese, and this was shot around ten years ago. The younger woman went right back to her hoarding nearly as soon as the cleaners left, and her dog died about a month before a followup episode was made (she failed in keeping her house clean, and her property was even worse than it had been).
