I believe you did this in total silence. I'd be jamming some Black Sabbath or something right now.

Thanks for saving a bicycle built for a tall person. They are rarer than hens' teeth...I still have a tall Trek 920 Single Track from 1998. I would have rather had a 930 or 950 but I didn't see any other options on the floor. In fact, it's the last time I saw one in a retail shop. Their all-steel frames from that era hold larger people up really nicely. Thanks to this channel, that bike is running as smooth as ever. Since I found your channel it has new handlebars, stem, new brakes, chain and new pedals...I'm taking it out later today for a postal run through rural Nevada. I would love to hear more about tall bikes btw...😎

That bike looks like somebody rode it from one ocean to the other and back again!

I started laughing at the adjustable stem situation. It’s one of the simplest and annoying parts of older bikes. Having to fiddle farting around with shaking to loosen it up, after it’s been loosened. Had many good, fun years working in shops.

Brilliant restore. I loved the front brake surface fix. I even get brand new out the box builds that moan like that. Great video

Nice Video! Take a look at that Alivio Crankset; if it has the ID "FC-CT90", "FC-M290", or " FC-MC12" stamped on the inside of the RH Crankarm, it was a Crankset that was part of a Global Product Recall by Shimano AND the CPSC way back in 1997, due to crank arm breakage and possible serious injury to the rider. You can return that Crankset along with the Serial #, Brand and Model of the bike to any Trek dealer and they'll give you a comparable Replacement free of charge. 🙂

Holy cow! That little bolt thing you use to clamp the bottom bracket remover using the crank bolt hole! Absolutely genius! So many busted knuckles that would have saved me. I saw that and mentally smacked my forehead.

It is comforting to know that even professionals mess up from time to time and as a up and coming bike mechanic that gives me great solace. Thank you for showing even your mistakes to us. I know you probably wish you could have saved that carbon fiber seat post but at least you got that post out of there and showed us how to remove those stuck posts along the way. Thank you

You should've dropped a new seat post in dry. 😉 But seriously, if this isn't a PSA for lubing your seat post I don't know what is. Rock on Bike Farmer! 😎🤗😘🤔

Man. It is refreshing to see someone else get bit by the Stuck seat post bug. I am in a wrestling match on one right now stuck inside an old KHS Flite 300. All cut up hut doesn't want to budge still.

I love your videos you should really really invest in some DeWalt power tools and sockets and bits that attached to it using hand tools to having to spin your hands around is ridiculous
@justinhamill1931
@justinhamill1931
You don't need to use bicycle specific hand tools to work on a bicycle 🚳 DeWalt bit drivers are perfect for this application you can control the torque
