I'm a Burmese, living in Burma, but I'd never heard the last one, though I might be ignorant in this. The rumor I'd heard of since childhood was that he had his doctors carry out venesection and replace the lost volume with that of younger people, so that he'd live longer (that's what he must have thought, albeit it's not scientific in any term). However that is also unverified. Given that he basically went nuts near the end of his rule, anything is possible.

In Russia, the many Georgians and Ruthenian Jews were ruthless in their seizure and consolidation of power, ensuring that property seizure and construction projects would impress their superiors, whether it costed the lives and support of their constituents. And when their superiors had their backs turned, to them, this was their only way to make more than dirt- or to avoid the execution of themselves and their families if their superiors had a change of heart.

The prussian province Pommerania/ Pommern was formerly for Administration reason split into two parts Vorpommern ( Front Pommerania, still part of Germany) and Hinterpommern ( Rear Pommerania, since 1945 part of Poland). One day in age of Monarchy prussian King did an official visit to Pommerania. Both in Administration towns of Front Pommerania and Rear Pommerania bands played, when the King arrived. FDR, who was really paralyzed from syphilis after carousing with whores as New York Roosevelts would, had his opponent Huey Long assassinated. He seldom made press or television addresses and still made the nomination, and 3 runs as president, which weren't exactly a good time for those in the dust bowl or appalachia even with the war economy. Seizure of German (and to a more marked extent, Japanese) American property fueled his war infrastructure plans and arms races- under the premise that German-Americans were guilty of not supporting war- which would include the gruesome bombings of German and Japanese cities.
