To me it's kinda funny to me that people are discovering this stuff, I grew up listening to this. Been a fan of Foghat since I was a kid.

Great choice. Foghat made me appreciate the slide guitar used in Rock'n'roll.

The great late Rod Price was one of the greatest lead guitarist in R& R history, and certainly one of most diverse. Here he's playing bottleneck slide and he was known as "Slide King of Rock & Roll". His was also a master at standard leads playing fast and fluid. Here from the late 1990's is the original members playing Stone Blue live. Though Rod gained a bit of weight, it certainly didn't slow his hands down. You can also see how he makes the guitar "whistle" kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHy3c6WdmbarhMksi=VZw8OehQsC748CU1

They were such much fun in concert. Between 1977-1981, I saw them too many times to count. Fool for the City, Third Time Lucky, My Babe, and Road Fever. These guys and The J. Geils Band had some of the best live shows back then.

This album reminds me of my grandparents. I was living in a small town, and my grandparents showed up at my apartment. I was cleaning the apartment with door opened while listening to this album. I told my grandfather that I love this album because of Rod Price's slide guitar, and every song on it is fantastic. He seemed like he enjoyed it too.

Best slide guitarist in history, the mighty Rod Price!!. One of the more underrated bands from that magnificent era. They always tore it up. Saw them blow Aerosmith off the stage.

I suggest "Midnight Madness" from this same "Stone Blue" album. The 2nd solo is incredible and will take your mind to another place. (I wish I could pay you to listen to it but I no longer have PayPal.)

I'd say that is a Gibson Les Paul with a steel tube used for a Slide.

FOGHAT Live shows were always a Massive Party. I felt bad for the people in the back seats, can they see the band through the FOG of smoke filling the place.

Guitar tones are often recognizable if not for the amp settings, strings used. Most lower tones are usually a Gibson Les Paul or a Gibson SG (Solid Guitar) Mid range and higher highs are typically a Fender Stratocaster - often called The Cadillac Of Electric Guitars. More twangy and brighter may be a Fender Telecaster used a lot in country music. The Rickenbacker guitars are famous for their High "Jingle Jangle" tones especially the 12 string models are famous in Beatles early songs. The rest are basically trying to sound like one of those. The greatest Classic Rock bands used different guitars for the different tone in lead/solos. As you may know I own 36 various guitars all those names and several more.
