Good guide, but you miss out on explaining how SB actually works with the barber and gazing demise equipped. You cast spirits, can have up to 3 up at a time, and when you cast new spirits to override old ones they detonate one by one and deal all their accumulated damage. You can't detonate spirits by stopping your casting, unless you let the spirit duration run out, which you never do. When stuff dies without you detonating spirits by casting it's just manitou. That one accumulates on the target until it stops hitting the enemy for a while or it accumulates enough damage to kill. It's a weird mechanic but really helpful to understand.

letting the spirits run out is ok because then they detonate at max damage, just put new ones down asap.

Zixu just watched the vid and scrolled down to drop the same knowledge nugget; not the WD’s channeling it is the phantasms time alive (channeling) that calculates the bomb value- cheers lad

So I’m still a little confused. Once I have the pack I want to kill, should I be holding down my SB button or should I cast 3 in the middle and let them deal damage and then recast to detonate after some time?

@@mattr2431 the later. Put three down, sit on top with mantau and just before they expire put three more down. The fourth will detonate the first, the fifth the second the sixth the third. Best to sit close range in spirit walk while they build up.

Hey Filthy, thanks for a nice video! An advanced tip: don't blow up your spirits during Spirit Walk, wait until you're out of SW and then blow up to reset SW's cooldown, too. I've been working on my Doc since season start, my group has already beaten our best 4-men clear ever, and I have high hopes for glory with this build as a trash killer. In solo, I won't be able to beat my crusader+theme combo record from last season, so I'm not very invested. However, I notice that Manitou+Rush of essence passive makes a world of difference on the boss. My last push attempt ended miserably, as I was using the Spirit is willing rune and no Rush. I spawned Kulle with 4 minutes remaining. Not only was I constantly out of mana, which often left him unpoisoned, unpiranha-ed or both, but I couldn't stack stricken properly either. Stay healthy... but also stay Filthy, you'll find a way :)

I'm new to diablo 3. When people say that a build has been nerfed or removed, how exactly is this done? Do they remove gear sets so you can no longer get them? Do they adjust abilities? Or do they remove something else? Great video btw 👍

Welcome Sophia! The nerf is the phantasms will no longer benefit from pet items damage increase, so we will need to take out the Enforcer gem and also the Mask of Jeram, but the set pieces aren't changing so you can still use the ones you have

Greatz Guide like always Filthy !!I was wondering what everyone think on both Variant ///// Spirit is willing + Bad Medicine or Manitou with Essence passive.And I mean for pushing 125+I'm actually sit on a 126 clear with 1100 PARA and 6 augment 100-110 and 127 seems a pain in the ass , but of course all depend of Rift and Guardian...some are just too hard to kill.Any tips ? Is creeping death passive better than Ritual one '' 25% dmg against nearby enemies '' ?

I don't feel like it needs TOO much of a nerf. You lose those soul harvest stacks against a feisty RG and suddenly you're not feeling so hot.

if you feel squishy vs the rift boss change the captain set for the belt with fetisch they block most of the rift boss dmg and their 15 of them also so their super good thru the rift,captain set is super good once u reach 2-3k paragon due to survivality is at optimal and gearwise also, you could swap the rorg in the cube for furnace also to trash elites pretty quick or echoing fury for speed runs if you go with full set and the fetisch belt. you can even go for that offhand in cube instead of rorg that gives you damage reduction if you got dogs out and then use big bad vodoo boogie man, it gives u like 40 procent dmg reduction so theres alot of options to go with than captain when your on low paragon and random gear.

@@pCeLobster captain gets better when u got utilized gear with right stats tbh,due to u will be the rift boss only target and thats gonna hurt u badly if you got random gear stats. that belt is super good and yea u miss on some cdr here and there but u gain more survivality,especially low on paragon that belt is super good due to low intelligence means u got low all res.

I always wonder why nobody tries using frostburn and rimeheart with mundunugus. Wouldn't the high attack speed make it perfect for freezing and then setting up the 10k procs? Is it just not enough damage compared to everything you get out of the normal setup, or what?

10k weapon damage sounds a lot, but it's not that much these days, but I've never tried it so maybe it would work

i use gruesome for 4man with barb in group due to chargebarb can spawn potions and the damage increase is massive and it stacks with soulharvest like crazy so i have gruesome instead of passive life and spirit willing instead of manitou and change manitou for blood ritual due to it gives 20 procent resource cost reduction and life regen. we easy gg 132 last night with 1.4k paragon 3-4 augments.

Do you click multiple times on Spirit Barrage or do you just hold it, before setting off the damage??

If you just click, you aren't building up much damage. At lower level this is fine and allows Manatou to do the heavy lifting on the damage. Holding SB down will build up damage until the target runs out of health and it detonates the damage. I did find a thread on the forums that explained the mechanics very well, but can't find it now to link for you

Why would blizzard nerf this build? It’s good but not op. I’m fairly new to Diablo 3 and I have build a wizard, Necro and now a witch doctor. Necro is squishy as hell lol, he needs a defensive buff. Wizard seems balanced, the witch doctor is good. Kinda squishy unless the right gear is used and purple or red gems used in some gear. But to nerf him? I sure hope not. He finally is viable from what I have read.

outcastgsx1 they want the benchmark to be GR130 with 5k paragon so this is a fair bit over that. I’m happy to keep it, it’s fun and taking away power never feels good

I hope they don't nerf it, I would like to see them increase the speed of all characters before anything else too. Playing the crusader was so painful. I love the WD the way it is right now and hopefully they decide to buff they other classes before nerfing WD.

Im using this build, but im squishy on toughness in gr 110+, even maintaining 10 soul harvest stacks.. Im also using the passive that gives you all res for every nearby enemy instead of more dmg but still. The dmg is ok, it kills fast enought but im constantly at the edge of death with elites. Im also using rubies in chest and pants for more armor. Any advice? im paragon 950+ and i have a couple of augments.

Hey! The Swampland passive only protects you from the elements you can deal, so arcane and lightning still hit you like trucks. Try changing it to Creeping Death passive and use the toughness rune of Locust swarm. This will slow you down a bit, but you'll be tougher. Also, Esoteric gem instead of Stricken will help you get comfy with the play style with more enjoyment.

@@matkosmat8890 hmm, didn't know that about swampland passive. i don't know about the gem though, its gonna take a long time to kill bosses and there for i'll have to dodge his attacks for longer and depending on the boss's attacks i could die more often

MrPool possibly try horrify with armour rune to increase toughness via armour but not convinced that it better than BB voodoo. You might just have to sink some points into vitality. Sucks to lose the damage - but it’s not that much at end game to chunk off 500-1,000 INT and you can’t do any damage when dead

I'll be happy when we can lose soul harvest in every build. What doesn't seem to add up is i can get a 6 set with 4 set zunimassas, which should give you 23 x 3%(69% DR) but for some reason it seems less effective, with 6 set helltooth and 4 set zuni i can do up to 85 fairly easy, this should give you more tank than Soul harvest, but it doesnt

I wish they would nerf the captain crimsons set because then there would other options, currently there are no other options for cd damage and damage reduction. im doing gr 120 solo with this build and wish single target was better as it takes half the time to kill the boss.

I didn't go into the follower, Bluddshed has a great guide on the differences and I never really min/max that far. Enchantress for extra attack speed is probably optimal for pushing, with the charm necklace for more damage
