FIMI X8 SE - HOW TO UPDATE FIRMWARE!

UPDATE TIMES WILL DEPEND ALL ON THE UPDATE SIZE NATURALLY. ASIDE FROM THE TIMEOUT ERROR THIS WAS A VERY SIMPLY PROCESS.

as usual great video Chris, bought a new 2019 model of eBay cheap £225 yesterday fired it up and it said no updates but today it said there was lol, I did not have a clue how to do it so thank you for the info

It took mine about 20 minutes total. It was on Android. I thought it was finished at one point and I just left it and it rebooted. When I went back into the App it said to update the ESC.. I did that (all files were already downloaded, its the updating that takes time). Then I went back into the App and it said another update... this time it was Camera. I did that. Then I exited the App and re-entered to be sure there were no more updates. At the end, that is when I got the "System is preparing" message. I am hopeful that with calibrations the message goes away. I see another guy on KZbin has the same error message and he can not unlock his motors. Another great turtorial. Hope it fixed the IOS camera settings. Only thing here vs Zino... you can not revert back to an earlier version. I guess thats the price for automation.

From what I see looking back the controller goes into a sleep mode if not touched for a short period of time. If that's the case it explains why mine shut off and had the time out error during the update. I have not had the other problems you are talking about but hope you resolve them and can help the other guy perhaps. Thanks

did they kill support for the 2020 fimi x8 se? the app runs on my android I got picture from my drone camera but nothing else works the lights are red on the remote for bad connection, I go into firmware and my RC firmware is 1019 and my RC relay firmware is 1019C but theres no updates except for a no fly zone thing but when I click update it just says something about no camera, which my camera firmware shows as N/A

@@QCGUY So what I've seen so far from Fimi is verry good , a few small bugs that are easy to fix , I think, he could well be a very good choice against DJI's overpriced products at a very good quality level , and I suspected the quiet that I will soon also be the owner of one , Haha

Jean Bindels Yes there are some bugs and the typical differences between devices with things working on one and not the others. This state of functionality is where Hubsan should have released the ZINO. Funny how so many are still so excepting of the ZINO flight control flaws and it’s all due to the fact that they worked out camera issues and as long as people can create nice videos then the blinders will remain in place and hubsan will act like the rest is no big deal. These are simple flight control fixes. Why so long and no change what so ever? That’s the question people need to ask and be concerned about. I really want to see one good update once they return from this Chinese New Year holiday.

The rc wont connect to the drone when the softwere is update just keeps saying please vonnect the drone but its conntected becuase i get it to start flying so im confused to why it isnt allowing me to do so.

QC Guy, was wondering if you had any suggestions why I am getting barometer error on the Fimi X8 SE 2020 Drone. I took out the app and reinstalled it and did all the calibrations on the Drone and STILL can't get rid of this error. Do u have any ideas how to correct this? And where is the wire to fix this? Is there a way u can send me a photo of where about it is. I am so stumbled on getting this solved and there is nothing on KZbin on this problem with the Fimi. I hope you have some answers for me.

I’m sorry I don’t have anything to show you at the moment or a easy answer. I would make more how to videos on FIMI problems like this but I get sick of all the comments and questions about this month make and model being different from another month make and model and the other conspiracy rumors flooding this drone. I fix a ton of drones and FIMI is among the popular ones I fix. I would say you have a calibration issue or problem with your barometer and to contact FIMI support with pics and video proof. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. I wish I could publish all the repairs I have done with this model but the comments alone would have my head spinning.

I am have trouble with my FIMI 2020. When I attempt to turn on both the controller and the drone they light up indicating full barge on both but with 5-7 se o new they shut off. Does a yo e know what my trouble could be

What does it do when you start the motors and hover? I think if you just run it idle or powered on they shut off.

QC guy, when I open the FIMI app it opens directly to the “Enter Device” page. Does that mean there is no update at this time? Thanks.

So lm new with my fimi se x8 2020 and I crashed it and had to replace the gimbal and camera. However now I can't get it to calibrate dose anybody know what I am supposed to do at this point. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Did you perform the six axis calibration for the quad and then the one for the gimbal? IMU calibration?

F GARY Yes both types of devices. If it’s a long update and times out just close/shutdown and restart the process. It will pick up where it left off.

I bought this product. When the control battery ran out, I tried to charge it. The remote control cannot see the phone and the plane. The control power indicator flashes red. What should I do? Is control format required, how do I do it? Thank you for your help.

mehmet efe I don’t understand why you replaced the controller battery. They last a long time and recharge so it’s odd that you had to replace it but it sounds like you may have done damage in the process. You may need to update the controller firmware in which you will need to contact them for help there. Thanks
