Unfortunately Fin Nor is now part of Pure Fishing and is part of the Zebso line. I personally like the old FinNor spinning reels made in Miami, FL. They were designed by Gar Wood Jr. and according to what I read the famous spinning reels hit the market in 1959. With this reel I simply have no use for a spinning reel without a AR override. It’s just my preference and not a rule for everyone. I was very happy to see a current Fin Nor spinning reel. Thanks Dennis! - Chris

Yes - they have quite a history of making fine reels. Zebco sold Fin-Nor to Pure Fishing prior to the Zebco move to Rather products. That happened about two years ago. I guess it is wait and see on what becomes of Fin-Nor over time - Thanks

From my automotive engineering days, Torx style fasteners are easier (faster) to index and achieve torque during assembly.

No Dennis! Just like with fishing reels needing oils and greases designed for that need, bicycle chains require bike chain lubricants. I use a product from Finishline that once applied, soaks into the rollers and dries so as to not attract dirt. They use a suspension of Teflon or Krytox as a friction reducer. My bike chains are clean and don't transfer crud to your leg or pants. I think in fishing reels, the hype of 5, 10, 15 or more bearings is a two folded card. First it sounds like the more bearings the higher the quality of the reel. Secondly, bushings require a tighter tolerance hole than does a bearing, so any mis-alignment with a bearing still moves freely. A misaligned bushing may not allow the assembly to be assembled.
