The way the Niners got to this point: two weeks before this, Robbie Gould was used as our punter to punt the ball away with under 2 minutes left, trailing by a touchdown, against the Rams. We got the ball back and went 88 yards in a minute to tie it and then won in OT. Without that win we don’t even make the playoffs. We felt like a team of destiny. Losing to the Rams the next week, especially the way we lost, was one of the toughest losses I’ve watched. I almost cried.

I went to that last game in la that we had to win to go to the playoffs and then traveled to Dallas, then Green Bay and then back to la for the nfc championship. Will never forgot how heartbreaking that was walking out of sofi after how awesome the month leading up to that was. Made me hate the rams so much. It really did feel like destiny after the way we won those games. Just kept buying tickets when I barely had enough money because it felt like a once in a life time experience.

This was the year the niners probably had about 5 or 6 "game of the year" games that the niners won, the niners were hard pressed to even make the playoffs, the last game of the season was essentially another playoff game they barely got past Seattle, then to get to the rams smh, this season was their year, fell just short

Jimmy was actually terrible in this game, but somehow the packers offense was even worse. The 49ers didn't score a single offensive touchdown and Jimmy was barely over 100 yards with an interception in the end zone. If the packers put up points this game should have been over. But somehow Rodgers and the pack choked again

I love how you forget to mention San Fran's #1 ranked defense. When you have that kind of defense with a big offensive line and solid running game, home field advantage, seeding, and weather ceases to matter. The Packers' special teams play didn't exactly help either

What Rodgers could've done and should've done has nothing to do with the fact that every playoff game he's lost, the other team had the higher ranked defense. Maybe if his own defenses played better when it really mattered most, it wouldn't always be on him to have to play an almost perfect game to win. And as I already alluded to, if the field goal attempt and punt didn't get blocked, it's a whole different ballgame and Rodgers most likely doesn't need to force balls to Adams. When you're going against a great defensive line and pass rushers against guys like Nick Boss, yes, you're gonna trust your best receiver to bail you out when you don't think you have enough time to get rid of the ball. Rodgers hasn't played his best football in the playoffs but he's played well enough to have won games that he didn't simply because his defenses couldn't get off the field or make stops in the most crucial part of the games. Tom Brady did NOTHING in his 2018 Super Bowl win against the Rams and the Patriots still won. Wanna know why? His defense played a great game and shut down the Rams for all 4 quarters. The same Tom Brady, a year earlier, played great against the Eagles, but the Patriots lost. Wanna know why? HIS DEFENSE COULDN'T MAKE STOPS WHEN IT MATTERED MOST.
