I didn't think I would see anything I didn't know, but, boy, I did not know about dumping all text into a closed caption, adding carriage returns, then, in one move, split every carriage return into separate closed captions. That tip alone is worth its weight in gold! Thank you.

For the markers, you can press m twice in a row and it opens up that dialogue box. Instead of double-clicking it. Also, that to-do list and completed list show up as their own lists in the Index. Which is also searchable. Super powerful.

Thank you. As usual, great tips, and there is always something that I did not know. In particular, I loved the split captions! I had never noticed it. In your #18 tip: it seems to imply that a gap clip is black, or is white, but it is not. It is actually transparent. That background color is just how empty areas of the timeline are displayed in the viewer in FCP, it is NOT exported. So if one wants to put, say, black text over a white background, a generator is indeed necessary.

Great content! 👍 I'm new so trying to soak up as much as I can! Question about the Anchor and snapping in general. I expect there to be an option for snapping it to the center of an object, instead of having to do it by eye or bringing out the calc to find the center. Is there a way? Thought this was common, when rotating an object for example. Also, sometimes when I'm using Shapes, and I duplicate that shape on top of the other, it's not always aligned, super weird. I've had strange behaviours using shapes, not working as expected, not aligning when say doing a cut-out. Keep up the good work!!

These tips are amazing Jenn!! Quick question: When I expand the audio in my very first video clip, it won’t allow me to drag the audio it past the 0:00 marker (actually I can extend it past 0.00 but it is greyed out until the first video starts). This was not always the case - any idea how I can fix it so that audio can play at the start (without needing a video placeholder above it in the timeline). Also when I’m previewing my timeline, and it gets to the end it does not stop. Instead the playhead goes back to the start and plays my entire project again from the start. Gah! Any help would be amazing. You’re the best!
@MoeBass Жыл бұрын
Start music before beginning of video: Hit home key to move play head to start of timeline, option W to insert gap, move audio to start under the gap, trim or widen gap as needed to fit your leader audio track. To prevent your project from going back to the beginning during preview, turn off Play Loop with Cmd-L. (Check View > Playback > Loop Playback to see Loop status)

Hey, I just started to look at your tutorials. I like your topics. But you do things too fast, so several times I cant see what you are really doing. 2 examples. I often get horisontal clips that would look better in vertical. (smart conform).I try to figure what you do to "modify" vertical. I cant find the "modify" part. 2. When you want to import just some of your footage, from media import. I try to mark parts of the clip, but I am not able to simply do it. I am new to this, so maybe you reach out to people more experienced than me. I like you stuff anyway.
