I just wanted to comment, I've sat through almost all of these episodes in order because it took me back to my experience in the mid 90s. Watching you go through all the things that I did, and seeing you build confidence every step of the way enduring both good times and bad really hit home for me. Making it to your long cross country is a lengthy ordeal that takes a lot of dedication and courage. Bravo! Best of luck going forward.

Urbana has ALWAYS had the BEST pies since the time I learned to fly at Bolton in 1975. Left Miami, FL at 18 for OSU, and never looked back. So, my vote is Ohio! Go Bucks!

Hey wow, you grew a lot during your training. You're noticing every detail, think of anything and more, so you had tendency to overwhelm yourself and get nervous. In this video I see a much cooler, routined Kim IN CONTROL of everything. Now you're finally ahead of the plane And look at these landings in windy gusty conditions. I can see it was quite demanding for a student. Your final looked very controlled. That one(?) long flare was noticed, but I'm sure you will learn fast to master these conditions in PERFECTION. There's no doubt about it. I am now convinced you did the right thing and deserve that license. Respect!

I miss getting pie at Portsmouth…my FIL and I flew there many times for pie from 12V. I’m sure that the pie was better 30+ years ago, but that is not the point. Time spent with others in the search for that pie was what is important. Thanks @flyingsic for sharing your journey, and for @BaronPilot for hosting the content.

There are many hidden wonderful areas of South Carolina for aviation. I bought property near KCDN. Around Greenwood is nice, also. You can get your warbird leasons in. Everything (mountains/beach) is an easy 2hr drive if the weather isn't good. Its also not bloated with millions of people youll never see again. Restaurants will remember you. Store owners will offer you more when they know you. Things will click easier when everything is not super complicated. Good luck with where ever you decide. It was sort of fun going through and liking everyone's South Carolina recommendations, so hello neighbors.

Ohio winter has a lot of gray skies and icing, but the rest of the year is amazing flying weather 5-6 days/week. And while folks here complain about the summers, it’s much better than you’re used to in FL. Also, as you probably noticed doing your training here, there’s lots of interesting places to fly; around 60% of the US population lives within 3 hours of Cincy. Oh, and we have the cheapest housing in the country!

This has been a really remarkable and captivating journey to watch. I have been continually amazed at Kim's willingness to show her stress and vulnerability working with her CFI Matt (who, by the way, I think is remarkable and fully deserving of Pie!!). It is amazing to scroll back to her early part of the journey and compare it to the confidence that she is showing now on this XC solo. The Baron Left Seat may be at risk for competition not too far down the road 😁... ...and I won't weigh in on the 'where to live' question except to say that sunny skies and no snow would always factor into MY decision if I were granted the ability to travel back in time and make that decision...
