Im just doing it now. Got my ass kicked on like the firsr four times. Then instead of raging looked up this vid. Tried a similar combination and took it out on the 3rd try. Wont lie tho. I barely got it. Hard mode is no joke. Item restriction is definetly the killer

Looked at other guides, kept getting bonked to death but one watch on your video and I cleared the Golem like lightning from a clear blue sky. Thanks mate, I just kept topping up on HP and MP to fill the empty slot and even Enemy skill just for the extra boost and I got him on first try.

Did exactly like this. Thanks. Rack up 2 atb for both. Once the spine and drill assemble, spam thundaga one person per part it will pressure it and its attacks are easier to read so blocking is easy. Attack it in pressure and stagger to recoup atb and repeat.

For me, what made the fight was Iron Defense. It gave me hugely reduced damage and the ATB to cast Thundaga

For anyone interested: this works without the genji gloves as well. Just use thunder lvl 3 twice with Red in the second staggered phase and follow up with Barretts Overcharge and another thunder level 3 with him. Works as well!

If with this you are still struggling, just add to your gear a thunder linked to Magnify materia on both Red and Barret. Use thundara o thundaga at the same time and you will get rid of the spine and arms and it would be easier to stagger. Rinse an repeat.

Any tips how to get genji gloves? I am on hard mode but am stuck on craftsmanship level 15 with no options to transmute new items to get to level 16

Just make sure you have done 100% first, load a hard chapter and warp to fiend intel minibosses and defeat them. Then do brutal sims, then start hard mode, thats how ive done it. If you still cant transmute everything, then you have missed something

I'm also still missing the Genji gloves. I brute forced it at the stage where the second phase golem gets staggert. Stop with barret, Thundaga with Red, two times, another Stop with barret, and continuing thundaga/thundara with both of them. tossing an overcharge in there as well. the stagger gauge was empty when the boss at roughly 5% HP

Anything that needs EXP, even just 5% ones will get you to genji gloves, u need to make everything, do all the protorelics, and look up all pirate jetsam locations in the ocean to make all the genji gear, gloves are the best tho

Oh the equipment and stuff?? The order you do the Sims and Hard Mode, will make one of them a little easier, but doing the Sims first will make Hard much easier than what doing Hard first would make the Sims, if that makes sense

@Optinooby yip I went onto hard mode at level 50 and have only recently started chapter 13 and am trying to max all my materia so I can do the combat simulation stuff I am currently struggling with the hellion brutal fight using cloud tifa and aerith

@@seanowens1073 After finishing the game at level 40+ or something, I did 100% (not Brutal/Legendary or Hard Mode), and that got me to 70+ and maxed all my materia as I was switching everything put once maxed. Then I got to the point and decided whether to do Brutal or Hard Mode next! I did very little grinding, just 100%!

@Optinooby I guess I did the long way around I also re did all the Side quests on hard for the manuals because I want level 10 max party exp and level 9 weapons I can never platinum the game because I can't play the piano or do the crunches so I'm annoyed

You dont need to do hard mode, just load chapter on hard and fast travel to classified intel miniboss and defeat, takes a few mins per miniboss

Didn't matter, did it with this strat without Genji, just cast thundara a few more times and another Thundaga with Barret. Amazing strat using so little materia. Thanks dude for your great guides!

Square enix is losing money because they sell trash. There is no 2nd phase if you don't do crazy damage asap, thing just kills me in 10 seconds of the 2nd phase... nothing stops it.... Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana is a far better game that came out a decade ago. It also has a better difficulty selection.
