Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Platinum was Extremely Fun!

I got the platinum trophy in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. There are a total of 61 trophies to get in the game and some of them are very challenging, definitely one of the hardest platinum's I have achieved.

It’s wonderful hearing of someone who actually enjoyed this! I like to attempt platinums sometimes if it seems like I would enjoy it, (for Rebirth I won’t because I feel there is already enough content and challenges for me to enjoy), but because of that mindset whenever I see videos of people doing platinum runs complaining about how horrible the whole experience was I can’t help but wonder why they’re doing it at all. It just feels very counterproductive when some people seem to basically actively ruin games for themselves because they’re voluntarily playing in a way they just don’t enjoy. I think platinums in games like this are really for those who actively really enjoy the challenge, and it’s always nice to hear how someone has had a good time really completing everything in a game they like. Actually smiled hearing you say that this made the game even more fun in your experience, that means you really gained something more than just a png on the screen. Congrats for completing the whole thing!

I always enjoy going for platinums in games, it’s just the type of player I am wanting to experience everything the games has to offer and I never got bored of rebirth out of the 150 hours I put into it

My brother went through the game in 65h meanwhile I’m a good 80 hours in on chapter 10, and up til now that was me “rushing” to stay ahead of my brother before school got in the way. I’m actually happy I fell behind since now I get to take my time. I think Rebirth is definitely meant to be the type of game that is played for a long time rather than rushed through, because there really is just so much to be enjoyed

It's refreshing to see someone not complain about the platinum. I did it myself, it took 182 hours of my life. But it was fun, and I never felt like I wasted my time doing it.

Awesome vid man!. Loved it. Im currently working on my platinum but stuck on Bonds of Friendship. After that it's just replay on hard mode and then I'll have it wrapped up.... assuming I ever beat freaking Odin!

I did it the other way around. Finished the hard mode replay before tackling Bonds of Friendship, even then it took me a solid day before clearing.

Great video! I just got the platinum few days ago and it took me 187 hours. The VR was hard indeed, but I think it is how hard a platinum trophy should be. It is called platinum because it should be exclusive!

With Galian Beast I put an expeditionary medal on Aerith along with limit siphon, limit booster (the one that gives you 50% limit to start) and focused on building up aerith's limit. Then siphoned and did Planet's Protector. The beast can't really do damage once the limit is up and you just go do your arcane ward + -aga spells and blow him out of the water.

I got the platinum after 153 hours. The hardest part for me was Bonds of Friendship. Loved all of it though, this game has ruined RPGs for me hahaha

153 hours is a good time, I found outer worlds the hardest that Gilgamesh fight was a pain. I’m jumping straight into fallout now because of the show so that’s more hours on another RPG🤣

Yes, the challenges were hard. Yes, at times I got frustrated. But I never blamed the game, it was as fair as it can get while still preserving the challenge. People have gotten so entitled with the Platinum only requiring minor inconvenience. They are trophies, and they are supposed to be challenges that you overcame and can display with pride. FFVII Rebirth was such an amazing experience I find myself wishing I could experience it blind all over again.

I honestly think most of the minigames are very fun, even on harder difficulties. I will admit tho, the choco gliding, sit up one, and brawler ones were DEFINITELY not fun

I absolutely love the combat challenges(including brutal and legendary ones) and hard mode but minigames are horrendous. It is not that they are that difficult, they are extremely boring to me and feel like a slog. They are the reason I won’t get the plat in this game

There was NOTHING FUN about those brutal challenges especially the 7th seal and rulers of the outer worlds. Between the damn worm swallowing Tifa and getting shadowy chained by sephiroth... my ps5 controller suffered damage from the rage these challenges made me feel failing them over and over! Then finally beating them and giving those challenges the finger when i was done was even more satisfying... but fun... hell no.

i got the platinum but i didnt enjoy it at all. It was an excruciating process that felt like it was designed not to make you enjoy but annoy you. Dunno how peopple find it enjoyable to play 10 round bouts of enemies you dont know (and thus cant properly prepare) and to play over and over and over in a process of trial and error until you calibrate your equipment/strategy in order to succeed... it takes so long and it is just boring. And dont get me started on those stupid minigames. Minigames should be there to mess around and have some fun, not make you end up hating them... the only one worth it was Queen's Blood. The others were very fun when you tried them on normal version and worked as nice distractions (as they should be) but then some dude at SE thought it would be a great idea to make hard versions of them just so you cant hate them. Sephiroth boxing match? Yup... fire the guy in charge of that thing alone... Great game, awful awful platinum trophy experience. Never again.

I mean to be fair, it’s probably that way because they really wanted completing everything on hard to be a challenge, so they made it exactly that. It’s not the way the average player is meant to play. I’m doing all of there world intel, tolerable side quests (fuck that last chocobo flying thing I am done with that) etc but definitely not going to try to platinum this game, and I don’t need to do that. I think it is wonderful that the challenge is there for those that enjoy it, but for me at least I just want to see as much as the game has to offer, and you don’t need to complete every single thing perfectly for that. But some people do want to beat everything absolutely perfectly, and those are people looking for a challenge. Although I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that some of the mini games haven’t had me getting really frustrated. Did the Gongaga chicken quest yesterday and had to mute the voice lines because I was having so much trouble with the last one and Nanaki’s whining about it started to seriously get on my nerves. But the main point was: I think it’s okay for a platinum to be a pain in the ass because it’s completely and fully optional. There is really no extra reward for it, it’s just if you feel like doing it. I do enjoy a more-doable-on-average platinum, but I don’t think it’s a crime for a platinum trophy to be a pain in the ass because here it is clearly meant for those who want to spend a really long time with the game doing literally everything possible to perfection

@@yeontanseyebrows5588 Everything is subject to criticism. Endgame content is subject to criticism. FFVII isnt IMO a hard game when it comes to the endgame content. It is poorly designed. That is its problem. It is not hard, it is boring, annoying, repetitive and unfulfilling. By the end of it I didnt feel rewarded, i felt relief. The game is great overall, but the endgame content is some of the worst designed I have seen in recent years. Yes you are not hold at gunpoint to platinum a game, but that doesnt mean that endgame content is above any criticism and that the creators can do just about whatever they want with it. Everything should revolve around enjoyment. Even endgame content. Make it hard, but fullfiling. There really is no need for this repetition, this trial and error logic, this constant disrespect of someone's free time. I will repeat it again because i dont have a more blatant example of absolutely horrible game design than the Sephiroth boxing mini game. Pausing every punch? To be able to beat it? Really? I am baffled how this thing was printed on to the disc really. I am pretty sure that part of the intention of the devs was to troll whoever wanted to 100% this game.

I beat the OG game beginning to end dozens of times. Considering this game is supposed to be a remake of that I would assume it should follow that game closely. The original was a walk in the park by comparison to this game including the optional bosses Ruby and Emerald. If I want a dark souls level of difficulty I’ll play dark souls. This game should strive to be like the game in the title, not dark souls. If they wanted to include a masochist difficulty for people that like torturing themselves they should have made it independent of trophies and upgrades to your characters so we don’t feel obligated to endure it.

I’m still not terribly mad about it myself because I’m not even trying to get the platinum, but I do think there are valid points of criticism that can be made. The Sephiroth boxing thing was a good example, I definitely think that could have been designed better. At the same time, I do feel that if someone decides to force themselves to suffer through completely optional parts (with no affect on the story) that maybe could have been designed better, but also some people genuinely enjoy, then that decision is kind of on them. Could the design have used some extra work? In some cases, undeniably yes, and that’s something that can be criticised. But if you otherwise enjoyed the game there is no point in then ruining your own experience by forcing yourself to go through stuff you just do not enjoy. Basically; Criticism is completely fair, but the amount of anger and distain some people gain for the developers because of how insufferable they found some story-irrelevant completely optional side content is kind of… silly. It’s not criticising that is bad, but especially when it comes to something like this where some people actually do really enjoy the end product, it’s more voluntarily choosing the option that makes your whole experience worse if you already came to the conclusion you’re losing more than you’re gaining by pushing though. Maybe it’s more about my general concern for the way a lot of people approach gaming. Video games are wonderful and can offer great experiences of all sorts. Some frustration and struggle here and there is a part of the experience, but a lot of people end up with such a toxic mindset that it actually just ends up making them feel way worse. You usually see that with online games, but it can absolutely happen with single player stuff as well. If you feel you’re losing more than you’re gaining, if you feel your enjoyment is seriously getting reduced, that basically becomes mental self harm whether aware of it or not. Maybe the designers could have done a better job, but that’s a whole other matter. It’s regrettable if a game ends up making someone feel bad, but at the end of the day, choosing to engage with it further is the person’s own decision. I’m not saying that to defend the developers, I just think it’s a shame that some people actually just turn so angry from continually engaging in that cycle. No part of a game is beyond criticism, but consumers have some responsibility in how their experience turns out. Not saying that to shield the developers, but because I’ve noticed a trend of people shitting on games because they forced themselves to play it in a way they found unenjoyable, and they’re usually very angry people

With all due respect: no. 😐 Not when it comes to brutal challenges where you suffer for 10 rounds straight (the last two Legendary Bouts of which I just recently finished with easy methods to finish them faster and I’m nearly halfway through all the chapters on Hard mode before achieving the platinum). This platinum from what I’d argue is time-consuming at best and punishingly pressuresome at worst. I often jeopardized my sanity because of the harder achievements. If you yourself declare this platinum to be fun, fine! But you can’t blame people like me for taking big breaks in between each achievement overtime. If you want an actual fun platinum that doesn’t push your limits, just look at Insomniac’s Spider-Man games…

Got ist Yesterday. Oh boy what a game. The Platinum helped to see every Pixel of this beautiful game. And yes it is in parts pretty hard. So i can be a bit proud of the Achievement
