This movie is a continuation of what the remake is doing, just as Crisis Core reunion is a prequel to the remake. What Nomura is wanting to do is rewrite the line so that the remake trilogy takes the place of the original game, but all its continuations or prequels remain canon. Not for nothing did the remastering of Crisis Core come out and they re-released this movie in theaters before the premiere of Rebirth.

This brings the chills and the feels and every emotion I got to pull on my heart strings. Aerith being a spirit in this movie broke me, so close yet so far and Cloud can't even muster a smile for most of it because he's wracked with so much guilt. This being the final time he sees her and finally being able to smile earnestly. The FEELS!!!

Just realized it started with sephoroth looking back at cloud with flames around him and ended with Arieth looking back at cloud with light around her. Not sure if it's intentional or not but I'd say it is.

That's a really good parallel. I feel you get to see Aerith's back often when she moves forward, running off to do something. Usually, Cloud gives chase, but this time, he is content and smiles.

They had mentioned that for the FF7 remake games, they took everything into consideration. The novels, movies and spin off game, they really wanted to make sure that everything is connected. They had said this during the screening of advent children in theatres this year, shortly before the release of rebirth.

It's weird to me how often loneliness is used as a core element to Final Fantasy games, Celes attempts suicide because of it, Cloud has an identity crisis which causes it, Squall suffers it due to trauma and deep fears of abandonment/loss, Zidane gets one of the best moments of all time because of it, Tidus suffers it throughout the whole game and understandably complains about it all the time. I guess that's it? Five games in a row is still pretty crazy though, there's probably more moments I'm not thinking of too but ironically in FFIV loneliness often benefited the characters.

Lightning also suffers loneliness after losing her Sister infact Cloud and Lightning are almost identical in personal trauma and personality traits it's actually pretty endearing to see Cloud and Lightning interact in WOFF Lightning let her tough act down with cloud and was surprisingly pretty playful with him and while Cloud at first was still stoic and alof once he let her through his wall he lightened up around her all this is also thanks to Terra. It's kinda like how Squall and Lightning communicate in Dissdia tho Sqaull was still pretty broody and alof by the end of that same how Cloud was with brawn Also in dissidia

It's really random and unimportant but it always bothered me how Zack walks in front of Aerith when they walk away. It's a small detail but I feel like he would have waited for her and let her walk in front of him before leaving

I get you and thought similar, but I think it's a purposeful device to say that while he and Zack were important to each other as friends, his and Aerith's relationship was just as important in the wider view. Just my thoughts...

I think its on one hand to make the scene shorter (would have dragged the scene to wait for aerith to pass by Zack) and on the other hand, Zack is way taller than Aerith, it wouldnt have looked as good, if he blocked her from view

According to the Maiden of the Planet she ain't with him. She rejects him in the lifestream, and only loves and watches over Cloud. Even in lifestream white she's listed as Cloud's kobito, not Zack's.

All the time. Guilt and grief about Zack's and others deaths wore away at him, made him feel inferior, a failure and led him to isolate himself. At the end, he had some peace and knew he would be with is old friends again one day, but also to accept himself and enjoy the people around him again.

Tifa always supported and loved him but he never did anything to deserve her I hope remakes will change that 30 years waiting from square a conformation a Canon love between them shouldn't be that hard I don't want Tifa to end up alone she waited for him her whole life she accepted him in his worst condition and she deserves the best from him

Wrong He didn't loved Tifa as his sister childhood friend the story I can write her it'll take hours probably for me to post thing I've said he never made a move The way Tifa deserves I have read the book it is a different point if view to see the story from a book the whole story based a teenager lives his hometown to impress his crush by joining to become a soldier and he can't become a soldier and he us ashamed to show his identity when he was in Nibelheim Tifa waited for him her whole life even after they reunited even after she helped him to find his true self and from that point of view the whole story is based a young girl gave her youth by waiting for her love to make a move she's a virgin because she wanted her love to be the only man in her life many people don't see the true story here I don't hate Aerith she's too pure and she has a sad story but comparing this with Tifa it is way more deep it is why she can't get a happy ending because the true story based on her somehow Aerith gets her happy ending but not Tifa even everything she has done for Cloud even he almost killed her in rebirth and she even didn't mention that because she knows him better than anyone Tifa is the real heroine in this game/movie if it wasn't Tifa Cloud wouldn't make it it's how the story is written canonical Tifa&Cloud
