I remember this... I wished it was actually on PSX... but the GBA game was eh... really sad. I wish someone would pick up this game again. It has a good bases, just needs the resources to make it happen. Lufia was definitely one of my favorite JRPG.
@wazzer912 Жыл бұрын
First JRPG I ever beat. It doesn't really hold up though after the first time. It's too easy and there's not much to do after you beat the game.

Incredibly underrated RPG. Also the only one to ever be rereleased too, shame it's stuck on the now defunct 3DS eShop.

@@josephlawter2994 yeah they are in their 70’s now, my mom tells stories about how her brother would have to lock his bedroom door at night so that his parents wouldn’t sneak into his bedroom and take his console downstairs or they would have to tell them to be quiet late at night XD

The only Lufia game I ever played and delved deep into the endgame with the endless floor dungeons. The music is so great in this as well.

It's my favorite jRPG of the Game Boy/GBC era, and a lot of it has to do with the writing, the massive soundtrack, and the ease of managing inventory/upgrading equipment. There's even a way to get a description for each item (select button, if my memory serves), which is more than most GB RPGs can say.
@Xygor Жыл бұрын
Right on, hard to disagree with that!

This game was my introduction to the series. I had never even heard of Lufia before picking this game up in my mid to late teens. The story was pretty good and the humor was spot on. I was also surprised by how dark the game was under the cheery music bright colorful visuals and goofy characters. The game managed to truly surprise me with a late-game twist I did not see coming. I can't think of another title from the same era that did anything remotely similar, especially with a character that has been with you for a long time. Of course. The thing that I remember most about this game is the sometimes silly spelling errors the game was rife with. "Frue Destruction!" comes to mind!

This is easily my favorite game in the series, and I've owned them all. I missed the puzzles some sure but the battle system and formation system more then make up for that IMO.

This is my favorite RPG on the GBC, maybe in the entirety of the Gameboy consoles in general. Definitely worth checking out, if only just for the soundtrack, which slaps way harder than any GBC game has any right to.

This game is very special to me. The music, the visuals, the interesting combat, the dungeons, story, characters...everything was such a treat to experience on the Gameboy Color. That Rosplett Continent music brought me back decades into the past. This was a nice trip down memory lane.

GB wasn't very popular here in Brazil (especially bc batteries were and still are very expensive) which made it nearly impossible to find both cartridge and GB. That's why I never heard of Lufia: The Legend Returns. SNES was pretty popular on the other hand. I used to rent Lufia 2 and spend every weekend trying to solve the puzzles (and survive the glitches) when I was teen; I only played Lufia 1 on an emulator some years later. GB has some hardware limitations compared to SNES and GBA, but the game seems more interesting than the GBA one lol

It's crazy how much better than Lufia the Ruins of Lore this game is. If I had to rank them i'd say 1. Lufia 2 2. Lufia 1 3. Lufia Legend Returns 4. Lufia the Ruins of Lore 5. Lufia 2 remake for DS

It's not Lufia 2, but I love this game and I think the soundtrack is the best of any Game Boy game (though technically this one only works on a GBC and not a regular GB).
