LOVE this game! Not all games have truly challenging bosses; Ultima Weapon was AWESOME. Didn't think After Years would be that great of a game (being a sequel), but it is full-fledged Final Fantasy all the way.

I found that Ribbons rendered his crush attack moot (Atleast on the Wii version). I got him to the point where he started casting meteor a fuck of allot and he killed me. I used pretty much the exact same party only replaced Edge for Golbez...

@ChrisTheBest1992 That's not true, you get the Ultima Weapon sword for defeating him, which is the strongest sword in the game for Cecil, Kain, and Ceodore.

@ChrisTheBest1992 I don't know. I mean. This is FF4 Advance + After Years + Special stuff like interlude & lost babil. But they're still by themselves. There is a good reason to make this but they won't be as much as a "special deal pack" but more of a remake. True FF1 & FF2 but they were remaked & put in the same remake before( Dawn of Souls) so it seems less worth it for me to get them seperatly.They need an FF7 remake though.

@ChrisTheBest1992 Lost Babil is nowhere near Proto Babil. I though 4 the PSP version, they would add more PSP superbosses. You know, Chronodia, Deumion, that kinda stuff. Maybe even Neo Shinryu & Omega Mk.II from FF5 Advance( the original FF5 is where Omega & Shinryu are from)

It's the sequel to FF4, so they added bonus bosses from other FF games to add to the challenge. It's a lot like the GBA/PSP versions where they added bosses (Final Fantasy Advance) to up the challenge.

I was overleveled by the time I fought this, and killed him before meteor Had to use Edge even though I didnt train him and he was on lvl 40. Free hastes and blinks are so useful in this fight since it kills almost every with its attacks

I recently try the depths with Ceodore, Ursula, the twins and Leonora and the plot was to see how the depths are easy if you level up Leonora until she learns Flare ( level 85 ), i mash all the bosses except Nova Dragon and Omega who killed me one time ^^

@YTPrule shinryu is the most powerful boss of the game,even the giant machine(cant remeber his name) is way easier,even with the 3 parties stuff you can easily beat him

@ChrisTheBest1992 Omega gives the best Shield in the game(Hero's Shield), Shinryu the 2nt best sword( Ragnrok) & this guy the best(Ultima Weapon), Death Gaze allows Palom,Porom or Leonara to Dualcast( 2 spells 1 turn) which is good if you're using them. I'm sure those are good enough

The reason I reckon why Laser does less damage as the battle goes on is because that attack is dependent on his HP, just like the physical weapon you get for beating him in FF6

I'm super late but Ultima Weapon is not obligatory, you can just get down the stairs going left or right around the crystal. Nova, Omega, Ultima and Deathgaze are all optional with good rewards at that.

The sprite of Ultima Weapon is stolen from FF6 (FF3 in Japan) on SNES. They use the same sprites, lol. I think it was a boss at the very end of FF6, on the floating island. See here: finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ultima_Weapon_%28Final_Fantasy_VI_Boss%29

The floating continent only marks the halfway point of ff6, the end of the World of Balance.

m3Zz2012 You are probably getting confused with the Ultima Buster that is a boss from Kefka's tower (he's a paletteswap of Ultima Weapon). You fight the original Ultima at the floating continent, like at the middle of the game.

That's better if you have a better level 60+. My party is Porom, Ceodore, Rydia, Kain, Edge. It is also better if you have a Flare spell. It is deadly! Bands is also lethal 😂

No it's not, Ultima Weapon debuted as Atma Weapon in FF6, as did the sword of the same name. Don't go getting your spells, monsters, and weapons mixed up.

They should remake FF5 and 6 the same way they did 1+2 and 4 Complete Collection. Those classics don't need extreme graphics to be awesome games. Just remaster the soundtracks and give sprites, monsters and scenarios a little polishing and you got it. FF6 spells would look great if remade the same way as Complete Collection.

Square thought it would be too hard for America (ff2+3) so didn't put them out till ff7 was announced on ps1 (not PSX as that's Sony's own game creation system used to make ps1 games with that surprisingly was also sold in Japan) they released them because they had to make up to the PS1 ff7 as Sony was already well known back then worldwide, also fun fact every ff game up to ff9 is on SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) formerly PSN...Xbox one dies in a month of use FACT!
