First time I ever fought this boss....I thought it was unsual that the doll music played so late in the game....after the amount of bosses you fight, I was totally blown away. I hadn't realized until Gilgamesh and Ultros that all the bosses were from previous FF games, I had only played 6...and knew of Bartz from 5 (Hadn't played FF1, FF2 or FF3) at that point. Would really like to see FF6 get a remake like this one did.

i didnt know about this fight when i played through it. so when i fought him i was thinking "i really should have had Rosa, Rydia, Leonora, Porom and Ursula fighting this guy.... he would have been in heaven as i beat the crap outta him"

Orthros is the name of the two-headed dog, brother-father of Cerberus, though, I think it's also a reference to "orthocone" or "Orthoceras," a fossil cephalopod with an ice cream cone-like shell.

ff1 and 2 have been ported on psx indeed under the name of Final fantasy origins. FF3 has been remake(at last) on DS and PSP. FF4 had got a remake on DS as well but with voices. All of that to say that yes, FF4 has the most remakes.

Trivia: Of all Final Fantasy Series, FFIV has the most numbers of release and remakes: From SNES to: PSX GBA DS PSP for some reason, i think in japan they have MOBILE remakes and WII... i think..

OK, so, I've never actually played this game. I don't know much about the engines, or how it functions, but I've watched lots of these videos and I have a question: is it absolutely necessary to spend 75% of each fight casting status spells on your party? Is it possible to just fight the enemy and win, or not?

It just makes the fight a lot easier, especially since a lot of the endgame optional bosses are actually mad tough

Status spells are optional the most efective ways are shell and protect the others not

Once he changes its easy,Have rosa cast reflect on herself and keep using slow,then he will coumter with flare then reflect will hit it back,basically flare on ultros for 8mp!

@Bizkit047 it was always Orthros in the japanese version, Ultros is technically a mistranslation. he was also called Orthros in the english Dawn of Souls edition, but they stuck with Ultros for the GBA version of FFVI. really, it seems to depend on whoever is heading the translation at the time.
