I go over every single possible way you can learn Zodiark in Final Fantasy Tactics as well as in Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions.

Wow I never heard of the strategy to have someone inherit Zodiark from a crystal of a dead enemy Summoner, but the more that I think about it, that's just pure genius. Now in theory you could have every single one of your human troops learn everything, including this annoying to get summon spell! Nice video man!!

First time I went for this it drained almost 3 times my Summoner's HP and I couldn't survive, next time I took his Faith way down and it barely drained 50 HP, I went a bit overboard but I was scared 😂

An overly complicated method for an underwhelming spell. Maybe if summons affected the whole field instead of a slightly larger area than magic spells... I still stand by my claim that magic in FFT was simply not worth it, with a few niche exceptions.

Don't even remind me lol its like Ultima. A bit of a let down. But at least it looks cool and epic. It can be insanely strong. With the right setup, Faith, etc just like a lot of things.

Heh, I do have a file with six characters who learned the summon (I used the thief charm method to learn it on my sixth), never thought to make an enemy summoner learn it - didn't know they could do that!

The Thief method is solid I did it on the PSX but had some bad luck when I tried to get game capture for this video lol. Yeah the crystal trick is neat and I've had better luck with it this time around lol.

I read that learning Zodiac beyond the battle with Elidibs was possible a long time ago, but had never truly tested it myself until I did so on the lion war mod. It is very satisfying, but it would be extremely annoying to teach to all your human characters. I just did it once to prove it to myself. Anyways, you are the best for recording it, improving the FFT community with each of your videos.

I only own the original PS1 version and dont recognize lots of your skills and gear. Dunno if thats cuz they changed some of the names of stuff or not. I never took the time to do any hunt stuff tho or any level grinding so might just be stuff i never got. I also see your team is mostly max level. I usualy complete the game and all the side quests with my levels in the 30s. Never tried to get zodiark on more than just ramza, but heres how I did it. Equiped armor from deep dungeon that gives auto protect and shell (cant remember its name right now). Magic def up from priest class. 108 gems to protect all the status stuff he likes to do. Your health is still in the 200s and zodiark will do well over 300, so this isnt enough. But if you wait till he starts to cast it and then use the mediator skill to drop ramzas faith by 20 before it goes off, that should be enough to survive it. If you use that talk skill before he casts it, alot of the time, he will do something else. But since hes expecting to get the kill with it, he will summon zodiark. So have ramza using the talk skills and wiat for him to start casting it before lowering the faith. As I said, dunno if some of these skills or items are named differently, but thats what they are in PS1 version

War of the Lions got virtually a completely new script and a lot of things were renamed. I mean thanks for sharing and the comment but my video was aimed at every single possible way to get it and for the party of five to get vs Elidibus. A lot of what your comment is what I go over in the video but with different ability names as my footage is WOTL. Max level is needed in the Rendezvous missions as the enemies will just be too fast. Your strategy is viable and you can always increase his Faith back higher but there is always that chance Zodiark won't be learned even after getting hit. Why I personally didn't lower Faith myself for this video.

@@J7Jase I figured it was due to some renaming of lots of things. I actually didnt even realize you could teach it to everyone and not just ramza. But then Ive never had a party of 5 summoners. My aim was always to complete everything in the game at as low a level as possible. It takes me less than 20 hours to do everything. I didnt know it was possible to not learn zodiark. I dont think Ive ever had that happen as long as ramza survived the attack. Dont know if that was a new thing for War of the Lions or if its true in the original. Anyway, all your tips and strategies are great for doing it for a whole party. Since the aim of the video was to show all possible ways of getting it, I just wanted to add a way of doing it at low level since your characters were so strong when they did it.

@@Queklaine Only five at a time in that battle. It can be learned in other ways but a lot more complicated and lucky required as I demonstrate in the video. There is a small chance not to learn it. Depends on your RNG or luck at the end of the day. Nearly all the mechanics and damage is the same from FFT and WOTL. The thing is levels don't make that much of a difference in this game. I rather take a level 1 character with Chaos Blades and some great reaction, movement abilities etc. than a level 99 with default equipment.

@@J7Jase Yes i know all that. Lost track of how many times Ive played thru the game since its initial release all those years ago. Just never thought about putting it on any other characters rather than Ramza. After trying all the classes, I decided ninjas were my preferred ones to use, at least until I got more of the unique characters. So I never even wondered about being able to teach it to more than just ramza. I just didnt know there was a chance not to learn it, as I said. Maybe its just never happened to me, despite how many times it could have And yes, level doesnt matter much because the enemies level up with you. The only advantage you get is the additional skills you learn as your level up for each class just by playing the game. Some things are set though. For example, wiegraf in riovanes, his lightning stab attack always does exactly 168 damage to me (unless he gets a critical hit of course) regardless of my level or class. In that case, you better at least be able to survive that. Again, all I was adding to your video was to make sure everyone knew ir was possible to learn zodiark without level 99 characters. You siad you go over every possible way to get it. I never said any of your stuff was inaccurate. I was just adding to it and explaining how I did it since you never said anything about doing it at low level

I never had a problem learning the summon during the initial fight with Elidibus, but spreading it around to the other characters afterward is a pain.

Yeah Elidibus isn't too bad once you know what to do but the rest or the other ways can be a real pain.

Zodiark is so cool. Unfortunately, I don't think it's really worth it. It comes very late, more specifically when the game is technically over as Deep Dungeon is arguably the last thing you do. Also, correct me if I am wrong but...I think Zodiark's cast time is longer in WotL compared to the PS1 version right?

I think the cast time of 10 and MP cost of 99 is exactly the same between versions. You're definitely right, the cast time + annoyance to get it is really not worth it, but for all those completionists or collector types, its a must have spell, at least on 1 unit :D

Yeah it's just so slow to cast and the massive mp cost. I believe the cast time and mp costs are the same like Stormtrooper said. But at least it looks cool lol but yeah better ways to deal damage
