You know what's great about this? The fact that they got Amano back for this version of the game, considering that most FF titles from the PS1 era had Nomura as the main artist, it's good that they went to get the original artist from this game, really shows the respect they had for the art direction

ugh but why's it stretched though i mean, i understand it's originally 4:3 aspect ratio and you're trying to scale it to the modern aspect, but this could've been done by *zooming and chopping* so we'd have less black letterboxing on the screen, without distorting the image.

ngl, these suck pretty bad when you don't have nostalgia for them. I like how they maintained the visual style of Amano's designs. but what in the hell is supposed to be even happening here? this era of cgi always seems to have this problem where they could only afford to render like 2 seconds of each angle. the result is a disjointed and spastic mess that doesn't manage to communicate anything at all. if a FF6 remake ever gets made (it won't) I hope they'll do it in a stylized 2d look rather than trying to do everything 3d.

Yes they suck by modern standards, but the thing is they were made about 25 years ago
