15:15 I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT LIKE THAT. Makes perfect sense! Great analysis! He’s been injected with Mako and Jenova cells, like Cloud. But Jenova doesn’t have the same kind of hold on him as Cloud.

Great video ! I wonder if the 17:45 flickering memory you're talking about (when Cloud/Zack gets thrown away in the basement of the Nibelheim Shinra mansion) is not indeed Cloud's memory but from much later, when Zack escapes with him from this place in Crisis Core after been experimented on, before trying to get to Midgar. He knows this basement for having been kept there with Zack after the incident in Nibelheim. It seems to me that when he narrates it to the party, something in his memory gets triggered too for an instant but it blends nicely with what Zack could have experienced trying to stop Sephiroth. Therefore Cloud just gets back on course with his story

Not only Zack himself, but that mako-drunk version of Cloud were probably pulled from the past/another timeline. So there are two Clouds and then they go down to one somehow. Probably something similar happens towards the end when Cloud returns from his “dream” date. Maybe the White Whispers are the ones enforcing the one body per timeline rule.

After Sephiroth appears to Cloud in the Inn, the camera then strangely cuts to Broden. I think the implication is that Sephiroth was projecting himself to Cloud through Broden’s Jenova Cells.

from what i can recall, it felt like a lot of the zack scenes were framed very tightly. Thought i feel like differences between what happened in the main timeline and the lifestream realities is that the that they dont reflect the new scenario that sephiroth inflicted upon midgar and theyre still like how they were?

2:45 And speaking of that, where is the scene from Intermission? Zack's scenes were just absurd. They probably had some other plans for Zack's story in Rebirth, but they scrapped them at the last minute and gave us this instead. Probably afraid of pissing fans off with too much Zack.

Personally, don't believe there is an "Omni Aerith" I think it's simply the white materia. It can't be coincidence that Aerith loses her future knowledge and the white materia is essentially empty.

Great video again, brother! I really wonder if Claudia's death will be the true horror and worst loss of this story. We knew it happened in the OG, but being young and so fascinated by the adventure nothing else needed to be shown to us. With the technology OG was like living in a comic book. Remake is like living in a movie, and the developers are older just like the audience. Certain things that are apparent can't be hidden now. For someone Cloud's age, the death of your mother would hurt most.

I feel it's not mentioned enough that When Sephiroth says "am I even human" at the reactor that's the exact moment that genesis briefly knocks out Zack with a a magic attack in Crisis Core. So there's no memory there for that moment to be shared with Cloud.

Cloud never met Genesis so it would make sense Genesis wouldn't be in Cloud's memory.

I love this chapter discussion series already, hope we really make it through all the chapters. Are you sure they aren't looking for Zack in the beginning? The warnings talking about a guy with "a buster sword" could very well be about Zack who made it through the wall of soldiers in front of Midgar. No? And when I played it I hated "a buster sword" implying there are more than one.. Feels like there should only be one unique buster sword but that's only my matter of preference 😅

He knows Sephiroth is not "there" anymore, and he is facing someone / something else. 20:15 Why did Shinra change the story about Sephiroth's death?

Good video. As for how zack can be in the terrier midgar shinra building at the end if it was hit by tornado, you did kind of answer it yourself in the video. If you look at frame 2:26 you can see the lower half of the building is still intact.....Zack goes to floor 1. Only the "important" floors of the building that were destroyed. What gets me is how midgar on our "beagle" map has sector 1 reactor facing south-southwest now instead of towards the northern cave. Makes me wonder how they're going to implement the sister-ray scene in midgar if at all

I STILL think that zack's world just didn't have a cloud in its events. I think the fates broke, meaning cloud never made it to midgar at first, but they try to course correct and maybe tifa falls into aeriths church instead. I know that's weird but i just hate how much this doesn't make sense. i concede maybe he was brought forward in time with cloud, but i do think the person armed with the buster sword is just Zack and that they saw him approaching, and as reno says, two birds with a shitload of bullets.

*Concerning Zack* I really must say the ending of Intermission really did not fit in any point in Rebirth, perhaps they fix that in part 3? I really felt like we should have had an extra chapter with Zack. They could have even gave it a replay value that as Zack you decide who you're going to help, Biggs or Cloud. Depending on the choice depends on the boss you fight and the events but it seems like we get all outcomes, but it still would have been cool to have had a little build up with him. I felt like they built Zack up and did the bare minimum with him. I would have liked to have seen Zack take a more active role in the terrier world to find out what's going on. Perhaps a meeting with Kunsel and Luxiere? Perhaps a meeting with Tseng since Zack and Tseng were good colleagues and Tseng definitely wanted to save Zack. (On a side note, I think Tseng may be of Wutain decent... that ever cross anyone's mind?). The white feather I'm pretty confident is a reference to Angeal, I honestly think Cissnei's reception was a test to see how well the compilation characters would be received besides Kyrie and Leslie. *Concerning the Flashback* As you described, it was pretty faithful with some more characters like the Mayor and a bit of a creepy Master Zangan. I really wished we could have seen more of Sephiroth interact with more of the people. Of course I didn't like they took the spiral case out of the manor. In Before Crisis we know that a player turk (Could be Shotgun/Rod/Gun/Knife/Nunchaku/TwoGuns) accompanied Tifa trying to find her cat and that they too witnessed some of the Nibelheim incident. If you read MJ Gallager's novelization of it, he actually includes it in quite nicely. A good read that I recommend. One of my biggest gripes of the OG and this is that we don't learn much about Cloud's mom and her background. Surely Cloud remembers his mother well enough? I understand for the recall's sake that wouldn't have been mentioned. The lost shinra grunt I still think may have been Roche which they still may decide to say. If that shinra grunt survived that would have instantly made him a candidate for Soldier. *Concerning the end of Chapter 1* I really wished we could have gotten to hear a bit more of Tifa's and Aerith's private conversation, perhaps they are saving that for part 3. Also at first I thought Broden would have actually turned out to be Verdot from Before Crisis except I believe Verdot has a mechanical arm and a scar which Broden has neither and surely he would have still had his memories of being the leader of the Turks and we would have had Broden mention having a daughter right? That was a missed opportunity to have inserted Verdot in that spot. BTW - May 15th First Soldier Chapter 7 & 8 are coming out (2 chapters to make up for not getting one in March) first one, the boy and the hero, the second one The Hero Sephiroth. They just posted a picture of Rosen in front of his smoke tower where Sephiroth is talking to Rosen about Glenn, Matt, and Lucia and how he worries about their kindness will be their undoing. I think perhaps Rosen may end up being a playable character. I don't foresee Sephiroth killing Rosen or his dog Refu as he learns of Glenn's fondness of him. This is pretty big news in Ever Crisis. Something tells me they want to get to Before Crisis soon which is exciting.
