LOADOUT AND STRATEGY EXPLANATION! May I present to you, the limit loop method. After a comment on my previous video this morning I thought I'd test this, it can be quite effective and may make for an alternative, easier strategy for some players. You still need to be very careful against Gilgamesh and Sephiroth by keeping barriers and health up as much as possible, so this is by no means free. But once you have the loop down each round is an easy win. Try to keep ATB for aerith so she can siphon again right away, haste can help. Keep a radiant ward up and keep her out of harms way if she needs to build ATB after siphoning. When using her limit keep control of her as much as possible, since she is invincible and will draw aggro most of the time, protecting the other two, this can be especially useful against Odin, Gilgasmesh and Sephitorh. With Barret I purposefully tried to get him wrecked at times to build his limit faster, and start the loop sooner. Barret is tanky with good support abilities this made the most sense, do not do this against Odin for obvious reasons. The rest you can see in the video. You can't use limit support as this will cause Aerith's limit to not fill the limit of whoever has it on. Cloud: Sleek Saber (ATB Charge Rate up x2, Attack Power +20 x2) Cetran Bracer Enhanced Karmic Cowl, Standard Expeditionary Medal or even Genji Gloves Materia: Weapon: Magnify-Healing, Magnify-Barrier, HP Up, MP Up Armour: Elemental-Fire and Ice, Strength Up, Steadfast Block, Skill Master, First Strike, Revival, ATB Assist Summon: Gilgamesh Barret: Battle Cry (Attack Power +20, Opening ATB Bonus, ATB Charge Rate Up, Limit Guage Charge Rate Up +10%) Valkyrian Bangle Limit Booster Materia: Weapon: Magnify-Healing, Revival, Steadfast Block, HP Up, MP Up Armour: Elemental-Fire, Luck Up, Precision Defense Focus, Cleansing (you can swap this for Time to haste Aerith more, had it in case anyone got turned in to a frog by Gilgamesh), Vitality Up Summon: Alexander Aerith: Gambenteinn (ATB Charge Rate Up, Max MP +3, Magic Attack Power +20, Reprieve) Cetran Armlet Enhanced Expeditionary Medal Materia: Weapon: Vitality Up, Poison and Petrify, Healing, Steadfast Block, HP Up, MP Up Armour: Elemental-Fire, Time, Spirit Up, First Strike, Revival, ATB Boost, Limit Siphon Summon: Bahamut Arisen

I used the same strat, but had the basic expeditionary medal on Cloud so after just 1 synergy ability with Barret, LB3 is unlocked

Before Cloud gets his first Limit off wouldn't it be worth it to spend an ATB charge on... ATB ward so that Barret can easily pump out ATB for Aerith with just his overcharge?? Especially since you're purposely getting tossed around with Barret and you already have the Radiant Ward down. Then when Cloud is using his Limit all you'd have to do is use Barret to rapidly funnel ATB to Aerith with Overcharge and Turbulent Spirit.

The third Magnify materia is from one of the earlier Brutal challenges. I think it's the fourth challenge.

Finally beat this after 4 days. I love this game to death but this fight is not it man LOL. Dont even have anything against challenge. I loved Weiss in remake and wouldve loved to learn Sephiroth here but locking him behind double summon fights is just insane. Lost count on how many times I got sniped by Alexander from behind when focusing on Odin. I'm sure more insane strats will be found in the coming days but for now I'm glad I'm done with it lmao

This was the fourth or fifth different strategy I tried. I have beating my head against this wall of a challenge for almost two weeks now and it was seriously killing my enjoyment of the game. Five minutes ago I had finally bested this. Bless you for the setup and strat. I had way more trouble with the earlier fights than other strategies (I think I died multiple times to every one of the first three stages), but it only took me two cracks to break through Gilgamesh (the first one was quick because Barret got the frog, and he was my cleaner), but I got Sephi on the first try. I get it, this is supposed to be hard. But this feels like too much. Thanks again for your contribution.

Oh boy I was hoping you’d say this strategy was what helped you get passed this. I finally just beat the tonberry king and joker in brutal challenge 4 but this method couldn’t work against most fights. Can’t wait to use this limit loop strat later

It is way too difficult and ruined the game for me and a thousand others. A thousand others I've legit read their complaints. It is not fun anymore I'm just trying to fucking complete it so I can make a video telling people how bad it is while having it beaten so they know not to pick up the game unless they want ONLY STORY because endgame is suicide cause. Legit not fun, insta death, never win, only 0.1 percent will ever plat this bloated POS game. C- rating because end game sucks and lets the enemies cheese you but you can't cheese them bcuz you don't have materia worth a fuck yet

Finally got this done today thanks to you! For Barret I swapped Luck Up with Spirit Up , and Cleansing with Chakra so that I could consistently heal him without emptying my MP. Got it done in about 1.5 hours. Had been stuck for almost a week. Now to beat the legendary simulations, and then the platinum is secured. Thank you for the build!

I want to kms so so badly because of this crap. Edit edit edit I beat it with the help of switching fire to swift cast after I learned all the fights except Bahamut and raw magic. ​@supersaiyanzero386 I use mostly tifa for this since she has the highest damage output cuz I have fury ring and enemy skill materia, I use barret to stagger the opponent and buff everyone since he generates a lot of atb and Cloud is my healer/mage. You also gotta be pretty good at parrying or else odin gilgamesh and sephiroth are gonna be very painful to deal with

Magnify + barrier. Throw it up ASAP and keep it up and you'll survive octoslash every time. Eventually he'll use it a lot less and blast you with elemental magic instead, but he gets easier at ~1/2 health. I also replaced Aerith with Barrett and the whole fight became way easier (cloud, Yuffie, Barrett). She's powerful, but she's slow and dies if you look at her wrong. Also, you can parry the shadowy chains attack which's prevent octoslash. Good luck!

Curious did you consider for the battle with Virtual Sephiroth to use Planet Protection? to provide that extra level of physical damage immunity, plus with the elemental pairs in your armor you could virtually take zero damage, with plenty of enough time to build up the limit gauge to start your limit cycle; but with a safety net in place first. You could play more aggressively this method. as well I suppose, just a thought.

You have Enhanced Karmic Cowl on Cloud but would something like the genji gloves to break the 9999 barrier be more beneficial in this?

Possibly. Never bothered to make the genji gear. I just put that on for extra bulk for cloud, the expeditionary medal might also be a good shout, can start with ascension and only need to use 1 synergy ability for Finishing Touch.

You don’t need Cleansing on Barrett. Instead have time Materia so he can give Aerith haste and you’ll never need to worry about having atb on Aerith

@@CaptainSellers ​ What exactly does the Luck Up Materia do here? Does it increase Barret's Limit production? Thought about slotting that + Cleansing out, instead electing for a "Magic Focus + Time" so I could increase 'potency' and duration of Haste on Aerith by 25%.

You can use limit siphon there, but the rounds maybe not last long enough to get it going. It's not really needed imo but give it a try

you literally can't do anything vs gilgamesh and sephirot. Gilgamesh has some sort of armor that even if you use your level 3 Limit against him he will still move around the arena and attack the other members, sephirot is spamming always shadowy chains and octaslash not giving you the chance of healing whatsoever, the first 3 round are challenging but the last two are straight up unfair

You have to beat this challenge to unlock the gotterdammerung in the first place, so wouldn't be helpful for the video, so I showed it using the limit booster.

How the FUCK did I fail with this method? I have tried every single other build that I've looked through hundreds of videos trying to find anything 4 weeks and even this extreme cheese fails? How is this possible? I hate this fucking game. I've tried the yuffie spam I tried genji glove arcane ward plus brumal ive tried EVERYTHING I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I CANNOT BEAT THIS CHALLENGE NO MATTER WHAT I DO I HAVE TRIED EVERY COMBINATION AT LEAST FIVE TIMES SOME 15 ADD A COUPLE 30 OR 40 THIS MAKES NO SENSE

Great video and hack. But this is just repetitive piss-poor design by the developers built all throughout these challenges. Even with a killer squad like yours, it takes an eternity and looks boring after a while. The challenge stops about 20-25% into each battle, then you're just grinding out, repeating, dodging, healing, attacking, etc over and over again. My guess, is this is where they saved all that time getting out the game in 3.5 years. Not as much attention to detail tuning some of the mini games and challenges.

Lmao bro this method is soooooo slow there's so many ways to end this fight faster than that. My favorite one is building around Tifa's divekick, but there's the Yuffie ATB cheese method, the full magic spam etc... hell you'll even see people on KZbin beating this faster with just one character ! They are indeed very hard, it took me several hours to achieve this one too, but they're not piss poor design as you try to make them look.

The idea is to have barret take take punishment to fill his limit gauge faster, so Aerith can siphon it, that's the whole point of the method. This is explained in the pinned comment.
