@Soru7 You... obviously didnt watch the video. The combat is totally different. But not too different to a point where it loses the charm of the OG FF7 combat. They did a really good job of capturing the pace and options you have when fighting enemies and bosses. I really loved how they made the first boss fight just like the OG but even more complex and engaging, for example, using caution when he locks on to you and taking cover, and also not attacking while he's raged with his stinger in the air. Plus they add more of a challenge, like hitting his legs, finding a weak point, using your limit on his weak point, and then when you think you have him beat, he gets raged and goes berserk. It's definitely a warm feeling that they are carefully reconstructing the OG combat and making it better with new things to try and be challenged once again. Even though the combat is different, I liked ff15s combat. Switching weapons on the fly during a combo, warp strikes, and tag teaming was dope as fuck. You must have not been very good at it. The only thing I would have changed about ff15 is it needed more characters(girls) added to the main party during the story. Now about the episodes... You must not be a fan of FF7 if you dont want this game to be FULLY remade, made better, plus have some extra goodies. The fact that the developers are taking their time to really focus on quality and content rather than cutting stuff out, and not adding more content shows a lot of promise, and it makes me hyped as fuck. Still not convinced? Look at it this way. Im gonna use God of War for example. HUGE amazing complete game, 1 disc. 60 bucks. No loot boxes, no content DLC, ALL the content on 1 disc. Bargain. Does it complete the story? HELL no! Will I pay another 60 for the next GOW? FUCK, yes, BOY. Now let's talk about this remake. Ok, let's see, this remake will be on 2 disks and while only featuring midgar(probably more, they cant just spoil the game), it will be a complete game. 60 bucks. Wait... 2 discs? You're only making me pay for one though? How generous of you to do all that hard work and give me MORE to play on an extra disc while only spending the required amount of 60 bucks for a FULL game. And does it tell the whole story? HELL no. Will I pay for the next installment of the story continued? FUCK yes! Does that help you understand why episodes are actually a good thing? I dont know what sort of label you put on what is required of a game, but my point is, if you could have more content(and an extra disc with even more content) at no cost, you're really getting your money's worth. So if it really bums you out that you're getting more CONTENT and not loot boxes or have to pay for DLC that should have been on the game, you need to reevaluate your life. Or, worst case scenario, you can wait 4-5 more years, probably even longer, and buy it as a package like the lord of the rings trilogy and miss out on all the fun. You might say "hey dude, that's not a bad idea, I can wait." But the joke would be on you because I know for a fact you WILL buy it on release anyway (because TIFA) and all this rambling, explaining to you why it would be worth getting, will be for nothing. To be honest though, I really enjoyed expressing why it would be worth it and I hope you do get the game on release. Have a nice day.

@Soru7 You got me, you're right. I actually love FF9 more than I do FF7 but it doesn't make me a true fan of either. I just love the games. So, maybe an easy mode would be nice for peeps like you who have trouble staying alive will be implemented later on. But regardless of your level, there will be enemies and attacks that can down you in one hit in every FF game. FF15 only had the crawl mechanic because you cant control your teammates and send a phoenix down, but it's no different from being dead and waiting to cast revive like in other games. Aside from my reason as to why episodes would be a good thing, a lot of time and effort is being put into this remake, so people need to be compensated for their work. If they are forced to work and wait another 4-5+ years til the remake is finished into one final product it could alter the finished product due to uncertainty, stress, time, space, and budget. I would love the developers and everyone working on the game to know how much all these people/fans/new fans alike already appreciate how much heart and soul they are putting into this already amazing game. So in my opinion, it's a smart move on their part to show people how hard they are working on it, be paid from the first installment and know that we are all willing to support them in however long and however much they need to make it the masterpiece it is. You can call me or anyone who likes GOW/FF7R whatever you'd like, but you'll never change how we feel just for enjoying or supporting something that makes the majority of us happy. We all know it's a remake, and we all know its episodic and will cost 60 bucks apiece. But it is a remake that will define "remake" and "games" all over again. And it is so cool to be a part of that and witness it. So, sorry hater, but you'll never kill the hype!

I am progressing through the story currently. I am about 70% of the way through and I wanted to stop and thank you and your team if you read this. I have not been so captivated by a single player game in literal decades. The game is literally built specifically with the child who fell in love with this franchise back in 1997. No detail is spared in this game, it covers ever corner and inch making the world come to life in so many satisfying ways. The voice acting is on par with a movie release. This is how a remake should be done. I am so happy I am getting to experience this. Thank you Square.

I am so excited, been following the remake forever. Midgar was only about, what, 7 hours max (average time is 5-6 hours if you take time to read but not grind) and it's being expanded to 2 full blue-ray disks. Dear Lord, I haven't run into a game yet that requires 2 full blue-rays to play the full game, it sounds massive, and it's only about 17% of the actual game (average time to complete is 40 hours). It makes me wonder what they are expanding on, how, and if they keep it this way, then does that mean there could be, say, another 10+ full blue-ray disks when all is said and done? That is if they expand on a lot of the other places in the game, and I remember a few parts of the story that I felt could or should have been expanded upon. I am so ready for this game again.

I am so excited for the remake! When they announced it over three/four years ago, I nearly cried haha. I am really looking forward to see all the effort put in in this remake of a truly wonderful game!

I'II tell you what I am looking forward to myself is the cinematic cutscenes very much because the original had no voice acting at the time so this remake will make cinematic cutscenes a lot more better than the original game because the FFVII remake will be more cinematic than the original because of voice acting and modern graphics@@cxffeechxn

HOLY FUCK! Those women can scream! Like this day is legendary. I always return to This video I mean watching it for thy r first time At home it was like I was there! The FF7 REMAKE PROJECT what like 7 years in the making with a rough copy outline even before that. This was MASSIVE. They gave it a 30 minute showcase after keeping us 100% in the dark. Amazing
