Gives me gut wrenching nostalgia like nothing else. Close my eyes and I am 13 years old again, sat on the end of my bed facing a 21" Sony Trinitron T.V and fat PS2 thoroughly engrossed in FFX. This song always makes me think of being on the beach after the Crusader's failed attack on Sin. Seeing the absolutely immense loss of life, so many people killed that it almost feels unreal, and with such a sense of futility, like they never even had a chance...this song really captures that sort of numbness and melancholy I remember feeling in that scene, like you're just sitting there stunned because you don't want to believe what just happened.

This game was defining for my childhood. To this day, id prefer this over any radio station music. Whoever days video games are a waste of time simply doesn't understand. I attribute much of my success to the zen I found via profound stories like FFX

Hearing this theme takes me to being 20, high AF, playing this game for hours. Some areas I’d sit and listen to the music, like this tune. I couldn’t find the remaster disc so I’m playing the OG FFX and loving every single second. This music feels like home.

The good thing about FFX on PS2 is when you force progressive scan aka 480p via the program GSM selector you get perfect image quality if you have good cables (I recommend the component cable from HD Retrovision) and good video processors (For example the chain of OSSC + Extron dsc 301 HD which I can strongly recommend. You need them to need them to convert the analog component signal to digital HDMI signal in high quality). That is by any means no standard. Most games on PS2 look blurry or distorted even with the best cables and video signal processors.
