Final Fantasy Will is an audio drama written by Kazushige Nojima for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. It is set one year after the events of Final Fantasy X-2 and several months after the events of Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishou~, and centers around two new characters: Chuami and Kurgum.
The drama is not meant to clearly depict a particular event, but to hint at the characters' lives after the events of Final Fantasy X-2. The developers didn't want a particular image to be set in stone by presenting clear visuals, and that's why audio-only was chosen, to leave room for the fans' imaginations.[2]
The inclusion of Final Fantasy X Will with Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD sparked speculation among fans that Square Enix was planning to lead it into a Final Fantasy X-3, but Shinji Hashimoto has denied this, saying: "Since we're revisiting Final Fantasy X and X-2, which were released about 10 years ago, the series' scenario writer Kazushige Nojima and character designer Tetsuya Nomura had a discussion and thought that the HD Remaster release would be a good opportunity for them to include this additional story episode. Right! So who's to say for sure whether or not Auron has any kids? All that's really known about his past is that he was a warrior monk "doomed to obscurity" for refusing to marry some priest's daughter. It's also common knowledge that a child can look nothing like their parents or just take after one of them. Chuami may physically resemble her mother but she does have the same blunt, brutally honest, no-nonsense personality that Auron had.

Just like she did all the the time in X, when she tried to go alone without telling others. Last time she defeated Sin, she lost Tidus, and now he's already fading, so maybe she was afraid of losing him again. That's why Lulu said she thought Tidus knew her by now.

WOW. I can't believe I'm doing this... but FIRST OF ALL! Do you remember the nature of Titus? Titus was basically a group hallucination of the faiths. The faiths got tired of sleeping for A THOUSAND YEARS!!! and so Titus finally was gone when Sin and yu yeven was defeated. Titus came back ONE YEAR AGO!!! DO NOT TELL ME the faiths are tired of dreaming for JUST ONE YEAR, whereas they have done it before for A THOUSAND YEARS in a row. Next, a weaker grip, a sick look is NOT THE SIGN of the faiths getting bored of sleeping. Titus slowly gains the ability to go THROUGH objects (except floors) in the process of fading away. Remember, when Yuna's stupid ass brought him back at the end of X-2, She pushed Titus off a cliff JUST TO TEST whether or not he would disappear. Titus being sick perhaps means that the faiths are having corrupted dreams or something, NOT THAT the faiths are waking up. If Sin were to go away, the faiths will sleep perfectly enough for at least 997 more years. Finally, REALLY, IS YUNA THAT STUPID? she will spare her ex boyfriend's life, lie to a gigantic pussywhipped SENDER who sounds like he loves to be whipped and ball-gagged, AND end the eternal calm by doing THE EXACT SAME THING she refused to do in the first game, BECAUSE OF ALL THE SUFFERING AND LIES AND FALSE HOPE? sorry, BUT YOUR THEORY IS VERY WEAK. Ok guys, I am going to explain to you why this story is AWESOME! and why you are going to love it! PLEASE READ Firstly what needs to be made clear to you all is that 90% of you have completely failed to read between the obvious lines and have taken the plot at face value, which you are not supposed to. Yuna has not really fallen out of love with Tidus and is not really in love with a 17 year old Kurgum, she was lying to Tidus to protect him from dissapearing again after she found out sin had returned. It is because she loves him unbelievably that she 'pretended' to dump him. Kurgum catches on to what Yuna is doing and does the same thing to Chuami because both know in order to beat sin with a final Aeon, a person you share a close bond with must be sacrificed. Both Yuna and Kurgum do not know if this is the path that must be taken yet, but they both distance themselves from the ones they love dearest in case because they do not want to lose them. The fact is this was plain to see, did you fools really think that Yuna and Kurgum had really fallen in love after only meeting a day ago? did you really think Yuna could possible genuinely dump Tidus and honestly say she doesn't love him after all she did to bring him back? I knew immediately when I heard this that that is what she was doing, the fact that Square then go and put the scene with Lulu and Tidus in there so Lulu completely points the whole damn thing out and yet STILL some of you dense mother fukers fail to see it is beyond belief. Lulu made Tidus' "eyes go wide in realisation" because she made him realise what Yuna was doing, that she was trying to protect him from fighting sin and possibly dissapearing again. Yuna knew there was no other way that Tidus would not follow her and that is why she did it. You also fail to see that Yuna and Tidus are a year into their relationship (which Yuna acknowledges when she calls him her boyfriend) and their relationship is "wonderful" (how Tidus describes it). Don't you think it is strange she suddenly dumps him just as sin appears? no you dummys! they are still madly in love with each other, Yuna is just trying to protect that love by distancing herself from it until she can defeat sin again. Yes they were seperate because Tidus had his Blitzball tournament and Yuna has her duties as high summoners still to fufill, which will inevitable put pressure on their relationship. But they are still together and still deeply in love. As for sin coming back, while I can see why this could be perceived as making the first game all pointless, I can also see it like this. Now that the dead are returning to Spira, Sir Auron, Jecht and Braska can now return! the whole original gang again! except now with the addition of Ject, Braska and Paine who will all go together to defeat Sin. Now Tidus realises what Yuna is doing he will find her and won't let her go it all alone, like Yuna always tries to do. As for the character Chuami, I actually like her, she is direct and cuts the crap, very very much like Sir Auron and I can strongly believe she is his daughter. I think Lulu is wrong when she says Sir Auron would have told them, this is the same guy who didn't tell them that Yunalesca was evil and killed him, and that he was an unsent. Even if Lulu is right, what is to say that Sir Auron himself even knows he has daughter? yes Chuami says she was "too young to remember her father", so who's to say Auron even knows? Now that he can return from the farplane this can make an amazing side story of the discovery of a relationship between father and daughter. So we get to see the whole gang get back together to fight an old enemy sin, and probably even Seymour. They are all older, wiser and we get to see Yuna and Tidus' relationship flourish on their journey. Now does that really sound so bad? You guys just need to start learning to read between the lines and taking everything at face value. I think most of you have had your minds dumbed down by all the utter BS that we had to endure in FF10-2. A game that was only salvaged and made worth it by the fantastic 1000 words singing scene and the heart warming reunion of Tidus and Yuna who I can absolutely tell you now are soul mates for all eternity.

Tidus died, and Yuna used Pyreflies to stitch him back together, the downside is, she had to bring back Sin to do it, and locked all the sent souls in Spira. She keeps up her praying "summoning" so that Tidus won't just die/disappear. She has become the new Yu Yevon...perpetually summoning so that Tidus won't die, allowing Sin to destroy Spira again because of her selfishness. Thanks Square Enix for destroying everything from FFX, and FFX-2!

From what I gather about the Final Fantasy X 2.5 Script: The moonflow starts to overreact from an unknown cause. The 'Returned' are coming back outside of the farplane, they can now speak back to their living relatives. Yuna's mentality starts to change during this course of events, and notices that someone or something is strongly wished for 'Sin' to return. I think she know's only Seymour would desire such a wish. For he wished for Spira's 'spiral of death' to continue. This is where I have several thoughts of what happens. Either: She know's Seymour will attack and kill Tidus and her. So she seperates from Tidus - to spare him from death. And more importantly so Yuna will not witness her lover die, again. Or Taken from Final Fantasy X-2 - The spirits of the sent are taking over Yuna's emotions. Like how Lenne did in FFX-2. She herself says "Something's wrong with me" that she's not herself anymore at times. Lastly Lulu scolds Tidus for his childlike approach thinking Yuna has fallen for someone else. And they both go looking for someone that will be "Returned". This could be a number of people - But most likely Auron or Seymour or Jecht. Due to their involvement with both Tidus and Lulu. Thoughts?

Will greed, sorrow, guilt for those who hadn't had the chance to apologize to the dead be a strong influence to start individual research among fractions to bring their best back? Ahhhhh! Sin came back! But who did it? Someone summoned it, someone powerful (Seymour, maybe). Yes Seymour wants this 'spiral of death ' to continue, but he WAS sent. With Tidus and Yuna I agree, but I think that we also have to keep in mind what was said at the beginning about Tidus. Something is up with him, whether he knows it or not. Might affect Yuna as well. (I hope Yuna and Tidus live for ever and ever and whatever, but what I think will happen is...) Tidus is going to die to save Spira, and I think it's well fitted since he was never a part of this world and Yuna is gonna die as well cause she won't live without him again. That would really make way for a whole new Spira. But man, does Yuna need a break. If Yuna is always at the temples, praying and such, then there should be no real reason to wear a dress sphere which was the cause of Lenne. Maybe the effects are long lasting with the dress spheres. Maybe she was stressed about her prayer being interrupted by Chuami (Which I think will have a big role along with Kurgum) because she was beginning to understand what was happening to her. What A LOT of people don't realize is that when Yuna says she is in love with someone else she means Tidus. However, since Tidus hasn't been himself and has been acting entirely different since ffx then you can expect a comment like the one she said in the audio. Tidus has been acting like a zombie and hasn't been himself lately, whilst Yuna is looking for the Tidus she knew back in ffx.

Guys, this isn't that hard to figure out. Yuna told tidus she doesn't love him as a lie to push him away so she doesn't involve him with fighting sin. She lost him the first time, and doesn't want too again. Tidus was "feeling weak", because the pyre flies were leaving him and he was starting to fade away again. That's why Yuna said "you don't know him, you can't meet him" and lulu told tidus "I thought you knew Yuna better than that". She was lying. At the end of X-2, when Tidus comes back, I believe it was the Fayth that made that possible. Could be wrong. But since then, Tidus has died numerous times, and Yuna brings or wishes him back every time. That's why Tidus looks and feels off. He's not the same Tidus, not complete.

Bruh...if any joe blow summoner can just summon sin (unlike yu yevon who was said to be a peerless summoner who mastered the form of actually merging with the aeon...not the fayth which no other summoner had been able to recreste for over 1000 years.) Then yes this writing is just a cop out to bring sin back cuz they dont know what to do with the Spira universe. (Even though they have the zanarkand bevelle war just WAITING to be unpacked.) This writing is indeed dog crap and the ONLY good thing it shows is maybe there would be the message of "the only way to stop something from coming back or being copied is to erase it from the minds of everyone." Since pyreflies react to memories and act as the catalyst for summoning this method of mass consciously forgetting would of course make it unable for the pyreflies to reincarnate sin as everyone would have forgotten about it. Thus if they HAD to go through with the SIN plot, it would be more so a metaphysical battle then the physical one that happened in X originally. We'd be going around spira helping people in sorrow and helping them greave and move on. The more they collectively move on, the more pyrefly sin's power goes away, the more the pyreflies have less to grasp onto as spira's society gradually moves on from sin and into a bright new future. Either way there is ALOT of good potential to be had with this concept...but my god...is the way this concept set up just, god awful writing.

Tidus died for real in that novel and she "beckoned" him back. When Tidus talks about the theories about he how came back he is actually right about the fayth bringing him back, however he has no memories of him dying for real during the novel, but Yuna knows and she kept it to herself. Because if finds he finds that out, he may dissappear again. The last mission story plays out after that and then the this audio drama.

It isn't interesting because it fucked with the canon of the first game. Look closely at the plot points of the first game. Sin is ultimate side effect of an ancient tradition-summoning-gone completely wrong. You could say that senders are a minor equivalent to summoners, but what does a summoner need to summon an aeon? That's right, a fayth. And as shown in the first game, the fayth that Yu Yevon used to conjure up Sin was the entire population of Zanarkand. But oops, all the fayth are gone after the events of the first game, so the means of summoning, especially for something like Sin, don't exist anymore. And don't you dare say that this New Sin was conjured up in the Moonflow. The spiritual nature of the place has always been glossed over in the games, and it still remains vague despite the audio drama's bad attempts at its explanation. The one other significant place whose spiritual nature was elaborated on was the Farplane, but even then, that place functions differently from fayth in terms of the dead. So still, this whole New Sin shit makes no sense and, again, violates the first game's story even worse than the second game did. As for Tidus and Yuna breaking up, it's also bad, but it's more the circumstances that make it bad. This OOC nonsense from the two of them is just as unbearable as Chuami, who herself is her own piece of work. Shouldn't they be more mature at this point? They're not seventeen anymore. And no, this ain't a lover's quarrel because that stuff can be and are still sensible and rooted on actual human nature. This is just...no. Fuck no. Be intrigued by the direction that this audio drama is going for all you like-to each their own and all-but it's reviled so much for a very good reason.

I think it's a shame that people aren't allowed to express disapproval about this without being accused of being unpleasable and a bad fan. This is bad. Really bad. It doesn't give hints towards the character's lives after the games - the expressed point of the drama - because it throws in a massive plot twist that will spin their lives in a totally different direction. Chuami is annoying and rude. Everyone else struck me as being either flat or just plain out-of-character. Oh, and the fact the audio drama undoes everything you've achieved throughout X and X-2. Final Fantasy X and X-2 are just my favorite games ever, and this... this is painful. I dont find the characters that I love so much in that drama. Tidus and Yuna most of all seem totally different personality-wise. Why would Yuna become a priestess for conservative people trying to hold on to Yevon ???!!! That's not Yuna ! This is my version of continuation just to make you all feel alittle better for an X-3: Since the beckoning of sin worked, it only means the fallen allies can follow suit from the farplane. Two worlds, Spira and Farplane could merged in distortion and twisted. Elements of the Farplane could be summoned, and we can look forward to see Jecht, Braska, all the previous summoners and their final aeons, Ohalland & Seymour's mother, crusader Lord Mi'hen & forces, Omega & Vegnagun with Lenne & Shuyin alpng with returning allies joining Yuna's side in 1 last final showdown against Sin. The beckoned Seymour can find redemption and take side with Yuna. Cid, Brothers and the Al Bhed rebuild home, rebuild Zanarkand, more weapons/airships and machina fortress & stronghold to defend against Sin who have since adopted a diff erent montrous form. Shinra's tehcnology of harnessing energy from deep within Farplanes core can be channeled and use against Sin. (To be continued.)

Late reply, but I agree. I think this is the point. The merging of realms being terrifying but with a FFX-3 journey (as well as ability to recap events for new players) resulting in a victorious transcendence.

The developers wanted to have the story continue as a direct opposite of Tidus and Yuna's happy story, and thus Sin was brought back. Kitase commented that similar to Sephiroth's role in Final Fantasy VII, Sin plays an important role in Final Fantasy X and the developers wanted to keep Sin involved with the story. "We can't say what happens to Sin after the radio drama, we wanted to leave something up to the player's imagination."

Exactly, what people don't realize is X-3 is already written, it's just not released yet because of FF7 Remake trilogy. I believe we will get the X-3 remake in a couple of years.

I wonder if this was intended to be a lot longer when first planned. I like the idea of everything not being sunshine and rainbows following the perfect ending of FFX-2. The first twenty minutes set up a fairly interesting premise with the Moonflow and how Spira is coping in a post-New Yevon world. In the next five minutes however, Sin is back, Tidus and Yuna have separated, Yuna is talking about how only the final summoning can defeat Sin and Kurgem has confessed his undying love for Yuna. It's an erratic change in pacing, to say the least. If this was more fleshed out, I could see myself enjoying this. Also wondering if Chuami was set up to be Auron's daughter for some other reason than fifteen seconds of tepid arguing with Lulu. She's possibly one of the most unlikable characters I've ever heard, aside.

So Sin can be born just on someone's will? Jeez if that's the case they're gonna need to install Thought Police all over Spira. They best make a X-3 and fix this bad cliffhanger; and you know what else? No more Sin, GOD no more Sin. If they make a X-3 they need to solve this before the first 10 minutes of gameplay is up and create a new bad guy for the series.

This is an outgrowth of the events of FFX-2. Tidus was brought back to life through the Fayth by Yuna's will, so logically others can do the same. If they did make an FFX-3, my guess is that the real villain would not be Sin, but whoever is summoning it back.

But the fayth said they are GOING BACK TO SLEEP once sin is gone. It was only through the fayth that the pyre flies even responded to Yuna's will. So the ingredients are...Dead people turned into Fayths+alive person who has a will+pyreflies="summoning" (in the FFX verse this can summon literaly anything) the only reason summoners summoned so liberaly in FFX was because sin existed and Yu Yevon continuedly summoned keeping the fayth awake for over 1k years. In x-2 something was keeping the fayth awake but now that it was dealt with they give one last good bye before honoring the wish and returning to the farplane to disperse and never be seen again. That was how it was suppose to go. Without the fayth pyre flies cannot be used all willy nilly anymore, thus summoning shouldn't even be a thing anymore after the fayth dispered. Unless im totally wrong, this feels like a massive massive MASSSIVE screw up in the writing. The ONLY thing i can think of that fixes this discrepancy in writing is that Yuna is the new Yu yevon perpetually summoning a dream Tidus. Because for tidus to exist he has to be summoned...there is NO way around it. He was a concept of a once alive person the fayth dreamt up. He was not actually THE alive person he was back during the zanarkand bevelle war. Thus to keep him around someone must continually summon and the last person who did that became Sin.

Sin came back and that can be plausible since it was just a embodiment of Yevon beliefs, Yuna and Tidus drama doesn't seem that bad because it was more like Yuna wanted to distance herself whether that be because Tidus is slowly fading because technically Tidus was never supposed to have existed, the ending to this could be Yuna defeats Sin with Tidus, but she dies and they meet again in the far plane, the drama deal was just a distancing tactic because LuLu always knew that Yuna loves Tidus

Dont know why u all sooo mad about an X-3?? I would soooo love to play X-3 !!! A real fan loves everything that Square puts on the table. I have played X when it came out back then and X-2 of course! And after X-2 i wasnt satisfied..cause i would have loved to see more..Tidus and Yuna finally being together, living and enjoying their days etc. ! I thought of the year 2005-6 or whenever X-2 came out. That was when i would have loved to see a story like i said. But now with the audiodrama the story seems to go an other way. If X-3 happens, I suppose the MAIN playable chars would be Chuami, Kurgum, Tidus, Wakka, Rikku, Paine and Yuna. Kimahri and Lulu are busy and Auron is 'death'. With Rin/Shinra as the major villains. They'll probably use Sin as a scapegoat to generate more energy and money for their project.

I've always taken what Lulu says to Tidus "I thought you knew Yuna better than that" to imply that Yuna must be possessed by the spirit of a resurrected Seymour in disguise as a summoner by the way they both take it as a serious matter they take on rather than a trivial lover's quarrel for a new journey if anything and the dramatic music that plays at the end would fit this scenario.

Me too everyone is so negative and they call themselves FFX "fans." Are they really this bitchy? If they do this and it's actually a good plot, NO an even better plot than the true bullshit of X-2 then I am all on board. The whole thing that FFX-2 had with that perfect ending and bringing Tidus back was bullshit to me. When that ending happened I said "fuck THAT." He was a illusion in the first place, a dream of the fayth to reconstruct the life of the original person who lived in the real Zanarkand that was destroyed 1000 years ago. Who I still suspect to be Shuyin even though there has been no official confirmation on that. Even Jecht is a dream too. If he was Tidus's father than his reconstruction was based on someone from the real Zanarkand as well. Did nobody else think about that? Well, I hope that we get to see the Guado in CG because Seymour was the only one of their race that they showed. Do you think that it was him who beckoned Sin back? Or someone else?

Not trying to be rude at all here, I honestly love this series just as much as you do. For me anyway, I wish X-2 had a better plot in terms of story progression. I didn't like all the weird mini games, that's why when I was younger I took a break for months then picked it up again to finish it. With FFX, it was hard to get me to put it down, I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Everything was powerful. I listened to it again and I agree the two characters they introduced leave a lot to be desired. Very abrasive individuals. And the development of the older characters we all know and love was rushed. However, I still maintain, again this is my opinion, that the whole Tidus being resurrected thing is clumsy to me. It's like the writers ignored their own narrative. Did they forget that if you kill Sin and destroy what is left of Yevon, the fayth, the summons, Dream Zanarkand, and Tidus (and Jecht) all cease to exist. Tidus can never return or be resurrected as the fayth are now long gone. But then they're just suddenly back, what for? I thought the point was to end all that so they could stop summoning aeons (remember DZ and everything in it is one big aeon) and finally rest in peace. That was just a big slap in the face to the first game's plot to me.

I would have liked to see Auron (somehow) returned in a (possible) FFX-3. Who knows? One of the reasons That FFX-2 was made was because "Final Fantasy X -Eternal Calm" became so popular.

If there ever is an X-3, all it needs to be good or on an average to high level is by taking notes from the gameplay and single player story in X way more than in X-2. A FF7 or FFX turn based battle system with PS4 graphics and cinematic bosses would be incredible, if they brought back the FFX battle system/sphere grid just more revamped then it would have potential to be great already.

She seems like a main character and it would be an excellent parallel to young Tidus and Young Auron, especially since she is related to Auron. If this ever came to light then she would probably be the one to get a lot of character development over the course of the game.

I find it funny how many are mad about this just because of the Yuna Tidus happiness being shattered. Honestly, this is a great example of how politics is an issue after huge events. How it can strain everyone, mainly the people looked as superstar status. I for one, would be interested to see how this would pan out in X-3 if they choose to make it. They gave some good back story to Chuami, but I would want to know more about Kurgum. But they left plenty to expand on if they chose them as the MCs for X-3.
