its really not that complex, this guide is probably for people that want to push the job as far as possible, but a simple setup with songs and coordination, you don't have to be as in depth with this, besides the merits and job points you can get away with a lot, not saying you should but with master levels you pretty much with a group destroy everything, hope you came back and are enjoying the game!

10:07 Well I think there are 3 ways then, because I dont use any of those you mentioned. I sing 2 song with full duration, then I sing 2 PROPER songs (no dummy songs at all) with Daurdabla and without duration gear. Then I overwrite them with same songs but with Gjal and duration gear. Doing it like this, if for example people get dispelled and you need to give them songs midfight, they are getting proper songs ASAP instead of being forced to fight with 2-4 dummy songs. Ofc they still are forced to fight with 3rd and 4th song being sung with weaker potency before I overwrite it, but still having weaker madrigal or weaker minuet is much better, than having some dummy songs. EDIT: I generally dont understand the idea of dummy songs at all. They serve 0 benefit over just singing 4 proper songs.

I guess there is also a 4th way lol. I do it 2 full duration with Ghorn. Then 2 proper songs full duration with Pink Harp. and redo the 2 harp songs with horn songs. Daurdabla gives 30% song duration, Gjallarhorn gives 40% song duration. So as long as only the instruments are being changed, then there is no reason to have another set for low duration songs.

Theoretically even if harp was longer duration than Gjall, it wouldnt matter, because casting even shorter duration minuet V will overwrite longer duration minuet V anyway. the reason why I dont use duration gear (just potency) on 3rd and 4th song is because in case of lag or being distracted while doing songs while moving between mobs in dynamis for example, I know looking at timers, if my 3rd and 4th song were already overwrited with gjallahorn or not (difference between Daurdabla with duration gear and Gjall with duration gear wouldnt be that easy to spot). The point is tho, same like you, I see no benefits for using dummy songs, while I see few benefits of casting proper songs instead.

This video was gold for me a year ago, been coming in and out ever since and of course I always return to my bard. I feel like I learn something new every time I re-watch this video, it has a lot of replay value and it helps as a buffer/refresher for the job! First thing I did when I came back to the game was a few years back was make a BRD and REMA it ASAP, I think I had ambu and misc. +1 gear but REMA carried me a long way. I used it to beef up every other job I had. I purposely left some jobs un leveled so it would give me reason to come back! Great guides

Regarding how unnecessary it is to marchx2, what else can you throw once you’re 5song? 😂 I throw Marchx2, Minuetx2 and a Madrigal.. lazy bard here, so unless I’m feeling fancy my ranged don’t often get prelude.. in trivial content like Ambuscade / XP parties of course! I make the assumption that most of my DD aren’t haste, attack or accuracy capped. Depending on them to be is quite an unreliable strategy imo! After all, it’s just a game? I don’t use luas or gear swap, just some chill - extensive macros, many of them! So I don’t expect everyone else to be gearswap pros min/maxing their armor. I make the assumption most are sitting on a TP set most of the time with the equipset for WS/SC/MB ready! Equipset is pretty vanilla, perfect for the casual player. Bard gives me the ability to essentially puppeteer the group into their best selves! I love it 😍 Balladx3 on a healer is literally the best.. when I /RDM I even add some flare and refresh! Unfortunately not everyone benefits from the same etude, depending on their preferred WS setup or even job demands. For example my NIN may desire DEX/AGI or STR depending on the WS, so while it would be nice to have an etude on there, it’s just not that practical.. I think the only time I’ve ever gotten that specific is when I had another bard in a 6 man EP party 🎉😂 Speaking of which, it was so much fun I forgot I was grinding !

I left game, brd was my main job for group events. I left when Duruable was only 1 added song. I hadn't quite understood how it worked as I wasn't getting any form of help to obtain it anyways. So, it's nice to know how these work now! And, I might actually be able finish it since everything is pretty much soloable. I'll have to resume work on the horn and getting that new items as well. Just glad won't need 50+ instraments anymore!

For real on those Bard weaknesses. I came back after about a decade and besides my eternal love for PUP I wanted BRD as I love support too and it is the epitome of everything I want on support: unmatched support flexibility bringing a party to greater heights and absolutely trash by itself. But then I heard I need about every REMA for BRD to even start enjoying some content. That was one hell of a blow. I got a Terpander, though. :(

I was a bard pre blue mage. Those were the days you could potentially wait real days to get a group. But my bard would have a group within an hour, when i put my flag up. I started a new character a couple months ago, and decided to start bard again. I know the game isnt what it was, but im hoping to be able to find a good linkshell soon. Im already a 99 rdm. WHM with Tacticians for Mystic Boon and 3 ballads + Refresh can use Full Cure without necessarily having to be in the fray, I think that's kinda going under the radar at the moment.

Organixfy - I honestly never used it. Sure, I always do three placeholders (Paeon) then use Clarion Call and a fourth Paeon.

You don't necessarily "need" a Marsyas to do any of the endgame content. Sure it's nice to have, but not having it won't mean the content will be impossible or extremely difficult to clear without it. If you don't get invited to a party because you don't have one don't let this video discouraged you, you're not the issue.

Yes, but max duration i can get with CC, NiTro, full duration gear and aeonic is 7 min 58 seconds. In video he says to use Marcato, but unless bgwiki is wrong, Marcato does not affect Lullaby duration. Only magic accuracy

We have a BRD in our LS that manages to top parses if she really wants to and comes with the intent to DD (no /whm etc) She's pretty much got everything BiS though.

Multi attack is far from an issue for bard. I have DM augs in chiro hands and feet. Neck+hands+feet+linos is 12 quad attack. Ayan body+ 2 is 7 DA and 6DT. I would suggest relic +3 being a TP set over ambu aya +2 set for starters. Carns AM3 set is the hardest, if not most impossible set to get in the game. It's all volte and Ashera harness. The rate of TP gain with it is through the roof and turns bard into a absolutely crazy DPS. waiting on a new spreadsheet to come out

@@gistofeverything6632 it is FAR from luck getting quad augs during dark augment campaign. If you log on every day. You will get loads of them throughout the month. It's getting STP and acc that's the killer with quad. We've had like 3 DM campaigns pretty recently. And another coming

To hold its place for the real songs. You do this to add more than your normal 2 songs. BECAUSE you can only add song slots with a few instruments. And replace them with songs casted by powerful instruments to replace the place holders.
