He killed his mother, then he spiritually castrated his daughter, all to get even more power, which he was then unable to wield because he can't create Chaos and soul stuff, which pisses him off even more, so he decides to kill everybody. Even his favourites Pulse and Lindzei were dicks who created Fal-Cie and imbued them with purposes they can't defy. Barthendalus did all that manipulation precisely because he was unable to off himself as a result of his focus demanding that he be Cocoon's administrator, so he needed somebody else to kill him in order to awaken Orphan (who itself was stuck in a semi-dead sleep state until that point because its purpose was to sleep and act as Cocoon's power source). Etro was the only decent god amongst the pantheon in the XIII games (Bhunivelze's mother is proper dead after passing on the role overseeing Chaos to her) and she constantly fucks up every time she tries to help.

Etro loved humanity, as humans are born from etro as seen in the dead dunes. To her, letting humans be free is a win situation.

Problem is, Barthandelus by himself makes sense as he could not destroy humanity directly and I think each character if you were to isolate them do make sense but their interaction with the story and each other was what was iffy. At no point was it hinted that Barthandelus was Orphan and Ragnorak was ????. Also the Coccoon Falcie basically did jack and added no input/thought to Bart's plan too compared to the Pulce Falcie

Lightning was always my leader because she's well-rounded and I never leave healing to an AI. Been killed off too many times waiting for that damn heal to come. But Fang replaced Snow as my tank character with toggling between Vanille or Sazh as my third person, depending on the battle.

I swap between Lightning and Fang a lot.. One awesomely insane thing about Lightning is her Axis blades that charge ATB on hit.. Couple that with her as a commando which has a passive that fills ATB when attacking an enemy with status ailments this all stacks and your ATB is off the charts.. Ontop of that you can use her army of one and swap between ravager and commando and drive the chain guage while also filling ATB. "I AIN'T NO ONES SLAVE!!"

@@Colgruv it's more the fact that the AI follows a strict script and does actions in blocks and pairs. You can optimize more with manual input.Sometimes the AI will not use the full ATB bar because the actions are queued in a specific way.(and you can see the inefficiencies if you do autobattle as a synergist or Sabo teur) There's also each characters ultimate and atb refresh/cancels.

I prefer Lightning for 3 reasons: 1. Her stats are the most balanced; there are at least 2 people better then her at everything, but they lag behind her at something else. 2. Her primary jobs are the most effective in any situation; commando, ravenger, healer beats out any other character. 3. She can get a weapon that can increase her ATB speed by like 50 percent, early on.

I think 13 gets more shit on than it deserves, (I don't take FF11 or 14 into consideration because their mmo's) 13 has the loudest, toxic minority-fanbase of all ff-titles. It's not a bad game, I had fun while playing it, but imo it was overhyped and also was followed by the disaster that was 14 1.0 and is often critiqued as the point where the franchise started to become kinda stale. I think it's a good game with some major flaws (the character-development with the crystal-system is a good example because unlike a normal rpg you can't grind to get an advantage for the majority of the game) but not a good Final Fantasy-game. Although I also think that we didn't get a good FF-game after 9, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Also it's totally fine to have different opinions^^

@@claude-alexandretrudeau1830 I disagree immensely. There are lots of amazing games still being developed. Hell a lot of them either directly by or published by square enix! (Nier automata, just finished it the other day, 10/10 game easy). We just have to call out the shit for what it is. Video games are a bit more difficult to satisfy a customer base than other entertainment sources due to everyone's potential different experience with them. There are definitely some being phoned in...but ff13 was not phoned in, they clearly put a lot of work in but in all the wrong places...

sometime enemy decide to be a jerk and launch group attack on the leader, does not matter you put highest hp dude as leader snow or fang, you will die. or you to slow to paradigm shift into sentinel. from the parody, it was sazh lightning and hope, no sentinel. yep you are fucked. my first time ever fight in gran pulse, i had lightning hope and fang. rav rav com for fast kill. i engaged with the 10 slug weed monsters. they all jump on lightning, first fight first wipe in gran pulse. so i change into com,rav,sen as starter paradigm, i never wipe out again. and yes, lightning's blitz is strong, when you use blitz or ruinga as leader, hope will use biggest aoe available ai is freaking fantastic.
