Dont get me wrong though, I do love me some imaginative theories based on hidden clues in the game but it's been far too much. This game shouldn't have required as much analysis as dark souls game. I was wondering how long until you did a theory video on Aranea! I can definitely seeing her having had some sort of crazy lore like this in her creation. I've bought into this red mage theory, and I like it. Also, Aranea and Crowe are hands down my favorite FFXV girls, so this video was all kinds of eye candy for me.

A wild counter argument appears! It's not magic Pez! If you look at Aranea's accessories, you can see she has an "inertia controller" which she definitely uses to control her movement in the air. Her dragon mail might also help bc if you look at the back it looks like she's got a pair of "dragon" wings! The red reminds me of the red eyes of the MTs so maybe her fuel or source of power is ~the same~ as theirs. As for her "uniqueness" maybe it is bc she's a pro with the lance! There don't seem to be any others that resemble a dragoon other than Noct and Iggy so? Maybe she liked jumping down onto her targets or something lol idk. But that's just my counter! Also this is a huge stretch: Cid could've maybe MAYBE been commissioned by her to make a beta to what her current inertia controller is today bc I mean if Cindy is McFreaking able to upgrade the Regalia so it can fly,,,, perhaps Cid could've helped Aranea. I know that this might just be a basic idea. But maybe the "Unique abilities" might just be an insanely high aptitude for spear based combat and maybe she might have just been able to survive falls from high altitudes. and they gave her magitek equipment knowing that she would be able to use them in a way that no one else could. i mean when she jumps you see the magitek spear and armor light up. So I don't think that she naturally could jump that high/fly around like that unassisted.

I still just can't shake the feeling that Aranea was just a left-over character from versus 13. They liked her a lot and simply didn't want to get rid of her, so they kind of forced her into the story. If she was totally left out of the story, I don't think anything would change.

A comment on the secret lore of FFXV, If you were a writer on the Versus 13 project, and it was out of your hands the major changes that were being made to the project as a whole. It was out of your hands that a series of games was being whittled down to a single game, In what way would you see your years of work still put to use? With some friends in the other departments, the final product we got would be the perfect way for a Developer to say "I know we don't have time to show everything off, but we're going to get it in there somehow anyways". Pitioss, I believe, is the ultimate example of this. Crafty game design amongst crazy restraints.

While Aranea is in your party you can inspect her gear to find out one of her accessories is an "inertia controller." I feel as is this is the reason she can fly.

Kind of like the Crowe connection, since it makes sense, but I always took the "glow" around Aranea's weapon to just mean that it was using the same/similar tech to the magitek armor. And given that Ardyn glows Red, despite being a Calum, seems to back it up, since he is in fact, corrupted by the daemons.

You make a good point about how Crowe was singled out. Drautos specifically chose her to handle Luna and thus get killed. Though tbh Kingsglaive is a bit messy and I'm more willing to say they did it because they wanted her to die for plot x) They needed emotional leverage.

All I can say is that Dave is slacking if he has the same potential (genetically) as Aranea. So like, that kind of makes me think since Ezma is Dave's mom perhaps kimya or kemya however it's spelled is Aranea's mother who left her in the care of some orphanage somewhere so she'd have a chance of blending in (in the case that she didn't inherit any magic traits from her) could also apply to Crowe, the two could be sisters who were separated in age so if Crowe were the older one maybe she got kicked out of the orphanage or whatever sooner than Aranea (while she was still a baby) or maybe kimya just left em in seperate towns so if one could use magic an not the other (like kimya and ezma) than the one who couldn't use her magic wouldn't be guilty by association. an they both end up getting used as weapons on opposite sides of a war. lemme know what you think pez, if ya see this an have a sec.

I think that arden was red simply to juxtapose noctis' blue armiger, something like ardyn's powers are drawn from the star scourge as well as the crystal, but the star scourge corrupts his armiger and allows him to perform other spells

rohan shan red is a colour derived of anger hate etc it's why in star wars sith use red lightsabers because as with new stadium wars canon crystals bleed red. ardyn is not much different imo everything he was is corrupted which bleeds red. it's different in a ways but principle is the same.

I'm still admittedly a bit dubious to the fact that Ardyn is indeed a bastard child and stick to my theory of Auburnbrie's being a descendant of Izunia's daughter. While I have little to no evidence to say that Ardyn isn't a Red Mage, his Magic is more of a purple tint-so to speak. The same color of the daemons magic. But on the side of Aranea and Crowe, I find this highly believable! While Aranea bears a resemblance to Dave's mother and Aunt, Crowe actually has Dave's brown hair-if anyone wants to gaze deep into this guy's eyes, please do so my mom doesn't question my sanity.It's a bit of a stretch, I know, but given all the evidence your theory has makes sense.Aranea's spear on the other hand, is indeed imbued by Magitek gear, they never did explain her ability to jump like that however which does play into the Magic thing.I can't wait for the next theory! And if you could go get the dog tags for a fallen hunters family...that'd be great. (Lol! Just kidding!)

After so many years and generations, is it not likely that many members of the Auburnbrie line would have married, or at least had children with so many others, that their latent abilities would have passed all over Eos? Any NPC you walk past, anywhere in the game, could possibly be decended from the line of red mages.

Aranea and Crowe are so badass and cool, and yet so underplayed. Aranea gets like three scenes in the actual story, and Crowe dies off-screen like 20 minutes into Kingsglaive (Which, to be fair, that did add the mystery to the movie, so it gets a pass). It's just really sad when I somehow like them both more than really any other character in the XV lore. (Can you imagine Crowe DLC though; having to fight Drautus and others while on the run and stuff? No one said she dies instantly).

Yukimura Sanada It's kinda implied that she died instantly seeing as she was found in a pile of garbage a few feet away from where we last saw her and the fact that she had been decaying for about 2 days if I recall correctly and that's when she left on her assignment too. As for Aranea while I absolutely love her as a character I thought her role in the main story was actually one of the better ones out of anyone that wasn't one of the bros. She showed up in blaze of glory and showed us she's a badass that can keep up with Noctis in combat and maybe even outperform him at that stage seeing as to how all 4 of the guys were seriously winded after that initial encounter while she casually walked off without breaking a sweat. She then showed up as an ally and we got insight into her character and ideals through a pretty decently lengthy dungeon section. Next time, and the last time, we see her she's doing her own thing by helping people out and serves as an adviser to the group of younger warriors at a pretty low point in their journey. so all things considered she's right up there with Ardyn and Luna in terms of how involved she was in the events of the story and her importance whenever she showed up. The people that really got shafted were Ravus, Ieodolas (Nifflheim Emperor), Cor, Iris, and ESPECIALLY Caligo. Caligo got shafted hella hard, dude apparently had this super intense rivalry with Cor and some really dark history with Luna but only showed up for 2 seconds really early on to get destroyed by Noctis and the gang.

Isn't Aranea's "magic" from her magitek spear? Her unique abilities could be anything, like Ignis using enchantment without using spell materials, or Prompto suddenly just making black holes appear. She probably just has a unique way of fighting by jumping and using her spear. She could have even already had some magitek equipment before joining the army since people like Cid and Cindy have experience working with those kinds of material. Going off you're red mage theory, I'd say Aranea is too much of a stretch, but Crowe would fit in pretty good. By the way Sir Peasant, I'm the "blind" guy from the last video who couldn't see the key. I did in fact watch the whole video (and this one) before submitting my comment. I know that this is the internet and every comment sounds like the person is angrily shouting their comments, but I've never been trying to hate on you're videos, even though I called the Dave part of the last one stupid. As for people not being able to counter argue you're red mage theory, I left an... Interesting comment on your Solheim video where I basically write my own hidden lore theory. The idea was that there isn't enough hard evidence to support the theory so you were just pulling other stuff in to make it sound cool, or in my theory's case bat shit insane. pez!! idk where to message you so I'm going to post here since this video is what inspired the thought. ok do so this may sound dumb as I haven't done much research as you obviously but what if the reason Noctis' magic color is blue because his family line is a blue mage not black. He can't use magic until he copies and absorbs it. Explains he can use the Ring, he's copying the powers of the gods, why he uses elements from the ground, needs to copy natural magic of eos, and why the armitur weapons are his greatest powers, he copies the powers, skills, and weapons of his ancestors. Could be why gifting powers to others is so natural being they just gift their own copy abilities. Teleportation works by throwing weapons because a copy of the user is sent with the weapon. This is why Noctis often leaves a blue after image. It's his technically original body being desolved back into blue magic. It's why Regis looked so ill towards the end and the whole line has bad legs, they copy black magic which being black magic is toxic and destructive. No real evidence I know. I just love blue mages and I guess I want this to be true even though I think you're right that the 3 mage houses are white, red, and black. I just think it would be interesting if it was red, white, and blue with blue holding Monopoly over access to black magic through the crystal. Anyways that's my ranting for today lol

what if red magic has something to do with daemons powers?! That would explain Ardyn's royal arms being red and him having powers outside the Caelum family. It would also explain why people who posses these powers are being shunned from society. maybe people who are born from parents who are infected with the star scourge can manifest certain red magic or daemon powers. that would also explain why Dave's family has a history with red magic since they're daemon slayers i'm sure many of them have be touched by the star scourge.

This is a solid video with plenty of evidence to back up your theories- I just have one tiny tiny tiny qualm about the mention that Aranea can 'fly' because she has magical abilities. DISCLAIMER: I AM BY NO MEANS TRYING TO BE AN ASS HERE AND SHOOT THIS VIDEO DOWN: I enjoy these theory videos immensely BUT I just wanted to add my two cents to the discussion :) Okay, so... by default, Aranea's equipped with something called an 'Inertia Controller' which has always kinda reminded me of that device Lightning uses riiiight at the beginning of FFXIII before Sazh freaks out and jumps on her, completely ruining her epic moment of badassery xD So, given the original intentions of having FFXV be FFXIII- Versus, it could be possible that the technology from XIII has been transferred over to FFXV as well? If that is indeed the case (I feel like it is? :O), then the idea of having a tiny device equipped to do mad flips and spins continuously in mid-air is not entirely out of the question (unless you forget to charge the device- Lightning, Aranea has learned from your lack of foresight :P). Also, our favourite badass dragoon daemon fighter good Samaritan's equipped with something called an 'Electric Actuator'- I assume this piece of tech was developed as part of the Niff's designer 'magitek' accessory range (that's probs not what it's actually called, but I was trying to channel what little sass I have in me to make this comment a lighthearted and somewhat entertaining read- even if I'm completely unjustified in my commentary LOL). Anyways, getting back on track, given the solid information you've provided in your previous videos pertaining to Ardyn and his influence in Nifelheim regarding the whole technology/magitek stuff inspired by Solheim (that is such a clunky sentence- if that doesn't make sense, just skip over it, though I'm sure ya'll know kinda what I mean???), it would make sense that the technology the Niffs develop could be infused with Ardyn's magical power? Like, you know how Regis and Noct can share their magic (with the Glaive/Crownsguard)? Maybe, the NIff army is a counter equivalent to the Glaive and Crownsguard? So, Ardyn might be sharing his magical powers with the army? I dunno, it seems pretty plausible to me. Last thing- the bit about Ardyn turning red during battle: Noctis is blue right? A cool colour... related to calmness and goodness, regality and what not (universally symbolic I assume- haven't really researched any of this much, as most of you reading this can probably tell xD) Ardyn is red: denoting anger, resentment, passion- overall 'negative'. Now I'm not shooting down this whole red mage thing entirely, because it's a freaking awesome theory- but if it is the case that we are totally reading into all this symbolism too much (omgosh, the pessimist within me has awoken!!) then the assignment of red and blue to Ardyn and Noctis during this final, extremely warpy fast paced battle is probably just a visual aid for us gamers to keep track of what's going on in our screens- especially with the loopy camera work hindering out concentration and rendering us all dizzy by the end. I’ve got a counter theory about Aranea for you Pez. Or maybe that’s the wrong way of saying it. It’s not so much a counter theory as it’s the cherry on top of your theory. What if Aranea isn’t just a member of the Auburnbrie family… what if she’s also a Caelum? Because in addition to everything else she has going for her there is one other thing, one other type of magic she has that you didn’t mention. A type of magic intrinsically tied to the royal family. And she actually uses this magic IN THE GAME. Not just in the backstory or in the lore, but the actual game itself! We actually SEE her using it: she can summon weapons! There isn’t anyone outside the Caelum family and certain members of the Crownsguard (who were gifted with the ability) that can do this, not even the Kingsglaive! She might be a Red Mage and she might be a lost Auburnbrie… but there might just be some Caelum blood in there somewhere too!

Gotta admit i didn't watch the other video Yet, and maybe you mention it there but if what you say about black, white and red magic is true, what if ardyn somehow was able to have all three of them? as you said he's got the lucid caelum magic, the red theme shows the red magic and we know he was a healer and/or oracle so he has, or had, some white magic as well. maybe he became corrupted by the power of all that magic or the jealous king and the astrals saw his power as a threat and that's why he was ostracized?

i´m not convinced of ardyn being red. I think it´s clear that ardyn is pink, the mixture between aranea´s red and noctis´ blue. Continue with this theories please, it´s more than clear that the colours are so important in square enix videogames. I honestly think that maybe caelums and (aurbryns), i mean, daves family, come both from Izunia "family". Both are interesting, but I think Crowe is a little bit more of a stretch. Out of all the theories you have done (which I have enjoyed), this is the least compelling or persuasive. An orphan can fit anyone's agenda when discussing theories like this. Aranea is quite possible, but I think Crowe is unlikely.

xBoolin Yeah I understand that. But if the story is lackluster, then I'd argue no amount of lore will ever compensate that. I think you have to be invested in the story in order to appreciate the lore in any game. Half the stuff in his lore videos aren't represented in the game in any meaningful way, but I have to assume he still really enjoyed the story despite this.

You’re based too much of this just on an image from the art which is not even that representative. I mean look at the Astrals that we can positively identify, Shiva and Ifrit - they look nothing like themselves in the game and Doomtrain has Regalia on his back for some reason, so whats the point in analyzing some persons boots and earrings from a picture that only exists in the game as a secret paint for a car, its not even a canon like other painting of Gods, cuz… there’s Regalia on Doomtrain’s back with our 4 brothers and all… I personally think that the red-haired lady is either Siren or Starlet. Siren had different hair colors before like yellow, green and blue. As for Starler - her hair looks kinda star-shaped. I believe that some of the Astrals became deamons. One of the ladies looks like Marilith, smiling ball is the bomb and the big horned beast could be king Behemoth for example. And Starlet became the deamon in the painting, Lakshimi is her other name. Another thing is… 3 magical families theory is bs, sorry, but it is. You said Lucis family uses black magic like Death - ok, but the second spell in the ring is HOLY, the ultimate white spell. Luna’s magic is barely white, she heals people yes, but she’s dying from it. And I don’t see any proof that anyone from Auburnbrie family is able to use actual magic. So-called witch makes magical potions, but she said something about Oracle blessing, so I’m guessing thats the trick. More fun theory would be that she uses magic-infused places to enhance her potions, like Steyliff. But in fact gifted people do exist in this world, all the glaives are gifted, cuz not everyone is able to use king’s magic even when he’s wi-fi-ing it. Aranea’s unique fighting skills are not magic, if she was magical that what the note about her would say, cuz unique fighting skills is one thing, but using magic when it shouldn’t be possible is a whole different story. Also Ardyn couldn’t care less about her, I doubt he’d let her slip so easily if she was unique in a way that she could use magic. And she probably uses MT armor, thats why her attacks looks unnatural. I'd just like to point out that a lot of these theories seem to have key points of interest repeatedly used. Like that Red Choker, other theories have used specific items to relate. That's why I believe this theories (to an extent) the more you upload them. One thing is a coincidence but the same type of thing being used each time for each theory, come on, it's more than just a coincidence. Square may as well run with this shit if it isn't true because the story told through these theories is, well.. Fucking incredible. 😂
