It's funny Cor pretends that he only knows the locations of "a few" of the tombs if this theory is right. And like u said he wouldn't just tell where they all are if the whole point is to let Noct and his allies figure it out on their own as a way to force them to become stronger in their struggle to find them all.

Here's some fokd for thought. Remember how FFvXIII was based on the mafia. Well let's remember that in the God Father there's the Corleone family, which is named after the city in Italy. The possible etymology of the word is after an arab fighter named lionheart who conquered that same city. It does sound a lot like lion heart, and to top it off, it might be related???

I never put it together, but Daigoro is a Shisa. ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shisa ) Plain and simple. What gets me is that shisa come in pairs. I can tell that Cor is the Shisa with the open mouth, but who in the story fits the bill for the closed mouth? I live in okinawa so I see Shisa every day (I even have some outside my house), and as soon as you zoomed in on Daigoro, I knew instantly. He has to have a counterpart!

Yesh! Looks like the theory is going down well. I was really torn on presenting more the lone wolf cub side and the shogun. But then I saw a collosi fighting in daigoro vs goliath and we have sooo many in ffxv. Then as I read the plot it all sounded so final fantasyish and then there was the whole trapped in an asteroid bit and then fired into space bit. Basicaly I had a choice. Be conservative and sensible and go with a grounded connection of the shogun. Or go FULL TINFOIL hat mode and talk about lightning being fired from fuking horns and fire rays!! :P :D

Great theory again! I'm not behind all of it but I'm 100% certain this game is about Ragnarok at this point. VERY excited about that. I think you deffo go full tin foil once you find ideas you like, but within that are some gems. Can we just acknowledge that the basis for Yojimbo is Lone Wolf and Cub though...which was also released from 1970-1976 which pretty much means the 42 age could relate to various elements of that. Baring in mind Leonis is known as the "Immortal Shogun" and the Lone Wolf character is an ever surviving symbol of the Shogun, it does make sense that Leonis is at the very least modelled on the story there and not the Godzilla clone that used a common name. I'm not slagging the film so much as that the reference is just really strained; a named character in a loved manga is referenced in a summon that follows a similar story, and then a film that used the same name for a completely different character becomes the basis for major plot points? I think that is stretching a tad! I can't work out how these astrals work at all yet though. Cor Leonis is almost certainly linked to Yojimbo in some way and if he is in fact daigoro (very possible) then I think it does answer a few questions (though begs about 50 more; like why are astrals said to not get involved but are all over the place getting involved?). Thanks for making me constantly question a game I am yet to play :-P

Yeah I fully read the wolf and lone cub plot and definitly found similar connections. Was torn on which to run with. Then it just clicked that if Cor is an astral he will be a collosi. We are clearly seeing LOADS of collosi fights in xv. The age was exact though indeed. Lone wolf works on many levels. And then it just had the bit about goliath coming down on an asteroid and leving with being fired into space. Two possibilites my earliest videos theorized would happen with the diamond weapon demon to leave an open ended link to tease people with. I suppose it depends on what Cor is to what the movie is. If he is astral then probably darigors vs goliath. If he is not then likely lone wolf. Either way I think the Daigoro name link is too strong not to be something

To add an idea for which astral Cor might be: Phoenix. Yeah, it's not a common summon, but bear with me. He's Cor the Immortal, right? Arguably any of the astrals might qualify as immortal, but one Japanese name for the phoenix is the "undying bird." His role in the story seems to be tied to guiding Noctis as he reclaims the power of the dead kings, basically reviving the power of the Lucis Caelum line just as the Phoenix summon always revives dead allies. I have a little more logic, but it's a bit too numerological for my tastes, so I'll just leave it at that.

I think it's worth adding this 'Yojimbo is likely inspired by Ogami Ittō, protagonist of the manga "Lone Wolf and Cub"; a samurai turned killer for hire who travels the countryside with his son, Daigoro'. I think it's likely Cor was a part of the first brotherhood in some way, and the Yojimbo ancestor had some close relationship, maybe a teacher rather than an actual father. Which explains Cor using the Katana of Yojimbo and his style of combat similar to Zanmato. Which is in turn similar to zantetsuken, which many compared Cors weapon usage to.

I think i figured it out about cor's secret. I looked a the english voice cast trailer more closely and there is a scene where noctis gets the last royal arm and one of the royal arms is a katana. Which means Cor is one of the thirteen knights the reason i believe this is what he tells noctis after noctis ask how many of these powers are out there and cor responds with that there are thirteen but we he says we only know the location of a few. What did cor mean about we!? Little strange considering noct and gang only just learned of these royal arms just now. Who are the we cor is talking about and that is when it hit me he is one of the knights of the round. Mindblown! Lol

I think the reason that scene with the fire is in the game twice is cause the 1st scene is the party attempting to kill that boss the first time, and are able to subdue it but not able get rid of it for good. But the second scene is them when they're older trying to kill the boss for good

I think Regis made a deal with the Gods to hold off Ragnarok and send Noctis to do it. I think thats why Cid is bitter and lives in the middle of nowhere. Becasue he's not hostile to Noctis, he seems more sad for him. I think Cid may have disagreed with Regis about making the deal and so seperated from the Kings brotherhood. I think Cid will be the one who tell Noctis his fathers a bitch.

On the DLC, when Cor brings Gladious to the trial of Gilgamesh there is mentioned Clarus brings Cor there when he was a child. As a child he cut off the arm of gilgamesh, lost his sword there and almost died. But there is a child mention, so I believe that Cor ages as well.

People who got to play the first fur hours are making a lot of comparisons to FF10 and your theory about Cor being a guide for the main group would fit in really well with that assessment. Like Auron, who Cor kind of reminds me of, is testing the strength and resolve of Yuna and Tidus to see if they could be the ones to break the cycle of Sin.

Peasant makes a whole lot of sense. Cor Leonis has a Technique in the name called Lion's Roar Primary weapon Kotetsu Secondary Arm Kikuichimonji, But I have to question about that Yojimbo lookalike in Kingsglaive. Wasn't it wielding one of the Royal Arms Called Mace of the Fierce not the Katana of the Warrior?

thats exactly the sense I got! Seems very routine indeed and also the way Noct acts around him. I kind of get a sense Noct knows Cor is more than he lets on. When Cor asks if he wants the truth and Noct says 'sure' and flippantly walks off. That seems very telling to me that Noct knows more than he lets on. Also the way Cor held his hand over the swords. It seemed like such a familiar action as if he were sensing the weapons or recalling stuff as he looked at it. Definitly not the first time Cor has seen these tombs I think

awsome vid once again peasant:) just one flaw i noticed at 4:18 Regis cant be the 13th, bcoz in the 53min gameplay video marshal Cor says to noctis there are 13 crypts he need to find to inherit the power from his ancestors. only flaw in this part might be that regis is already dead in the start of ff15 and is already in a crypt, but i doubt that somehow..coz i doubt the empire would hold a funeral for him what are your thoughts on this?

well they do say in one scene early on in the game that the king is dead. Perhaps Regis really is dead when the game starts. Which means he must die in the movie (wouldn't surprise me), or if my theory is correct he will be petrified like Odin was in war of magi. So maybe a stone stasis?

hmm yeah i hear ya, but announcing the royal family dead could be a play to keep the populous from taking up arms(its been done in anime) so it wouldnt be too outhere. coz while the royal family is supposedly dead they are still searching for noctis, regis could be really weakened and is a POW so to speak and they wana use that as leverage against noctis.... but the 13 crypts tho...

Two thoughts that I'll just throw out there: a) the relationship between Noct and Cor could be very similar to that of Tidus and Auron... right down to Auron's secret. b) the relationship between Noct and Cor could be like the one between Shulk and Dickson in Xenoblade Chronicles. I don't know if you've played XBC, so I'll just leave it at that in case you don't want to be spoiled. I dig your theory, though, too!

In ffxii one of the first wild hunts was a Dancing Cactuar. I personally believe that this Hunt Mission is supposed to be a reenactment of the Plot of Footloose. Confirmed! Dancing Cactuar was Kevin Bacon. The person who asked for the Hunt was John Lithgow's character.

You always come up with such interesting theories! Even if they don't end up being true these videos are worth watching for the ideas alone, stuff I wouldn't have ever come up with. I can definitely see Cor being Daigoro now; what sold me is that the name means fifth son, although the way you got there was a little farfetched with the one lucian king who kind of resembles Yojimbo but I suppose the most important kings would make the cover of the game so I could definitely see that as the first king with Regis in the middle. Speaking of the blond Nifflheim general who calls Cor immortal, it was revealed by people who played the gamescon demo that his name is Loqi, which is pretty familiar looking, how does that fit in with your Norse theory?

Remember in the Kingsglaive 12 min footage she's wearing what looks like a crown of ice ... and then she jumps in front of fire to save her son, but she isn't burned. I don't mind if people have been with my ideas, I certainly don't with anyone else ;) I anticipate being wrong on some things. Or at least HALF wrong. I think there will be a number I touch close but not fully to the base on.

Very exciting theory! Btw, do you think the bridge connected to Lucius we saw in previous trailers is related to Bifrost in Norse Mythology. I think it is another clue to prove that Regis is in kinda position just like Odin. You can see the similar bridge in Thor movies. I don't know if you have already talked about it or not in other videos. Anyway, hope you can keep making these videos!

I think Cor is leading Noctis into a trap, betraying them at a later state in the game. Since Cor may be the fifth son, he would have felt neglected by King Regis. He probably is going to be working with Ravus is my guess.

So even though Kingsglaive depicts multiple Diamond Weapon "Daemons," it still doesn't discredit Cor/Daigoro fighting one and sending it into spaaaace. Could be that Cor takes on the last of these Daemons and it gets launched off the planet. But it does seem less likely, though. Oh, and King's Tale takes place 30 years before FFXV, so either Cor didn't join Regis' Brotherhood until several years later, or this confirms Cor is ageless, because Cor would be 12 at the time if he wasn't. Though Cor could have joined up around the time Noct's mother died, making Cor 30 at the time which could be completely possible without him being ageless.

I tried to keep away from FFXV videos as much as possible, but I keep giving in to watch your awesome theory videos. I'm just too hyped to wait without a regular FFXV dose until november 29th! So I decided to only listen to your videos (images spoil too much of the experience in my opinion) and lo and behold: tinfoil hat engaged! I just can't resist! So here are my 2 cents. Cor Leonis apparently is immortal but still has an age of 42. I don't think this is just a symbolic number. I believe it is his actual age... IN THIS CYCLE! I'm not up to date with all facts and theories, so I might be off here. Anyway, either Cor dies and reincarnates everytime the brotherhood fails, or it's the number of years since the failure of the last brotherhood. I just rewatched the trailer for A King's Tale and Regis and his companions kinda look like they're 42 years younger compared to the game's present. Cid has blond hair and in the main game, he looks like he's over 70. So I think it's perfectly plausible that this brotherhood cycle has been going on for 42 years. EDIT: Ah snap. Apparently, A King's Tale is set 30 years before the main events of FFXV. There goes my theory... :/

I have to say you are dead on! Whether it is symbolic or Cor will turn to Daigoro. I have seen a lion in Cor's facial design but could not place it. The katana and special attack! The meaning you posted of Daigoro as 5th son! I would think the yojimbo character is the 1st King and there are only 12 and Regis is the 13th. But why 113? Maybe the curse started on the 101st King?
