Dear Square Enix, I am a longtime Final Fantasy player that has enjoyed many of your games. However, this new entry, Final Fantasy XVI is beyond what I thought was possible in a JRPG. It truly is one of the best games I have ever played in my life and I have been at this for over 35 years. The one and only fault that I find in this epic, magnus opus is that it ends.... Final Fantasy XVI's visuals are both strikingly beautiful and crafted to a perfect sheen. The sound is befitting the games scope as it thunders with orchestral might during pitched battles...or sullen tones that help impact scenes of true sorrow. The characters fit so perfectly that I find it hard not to become attached to their plights on screen. This is helped by world-class voice actors that deliver their lines with perfection. Finally, the gameplay is something I was a tad worried about. Now, I play everything across all platforms, genres, and generations of gaming. Meaning, I don't have an issue with any type of game but I did worry FFXVI's fighting mechanics might stray too far away from its RPG roots. Thankfully, I was dead wrong. I cannot get enough of this games play mechanics and how smooth the fighting engine is. Thank you Square Enix for delivering one of the best games I have ever played. You stayed true to us, the fans and I will never forget it. Addendum- I played a physical copy of Final Fantasy XVI on our PS5 in Cinematic Mode@4K.

@@adammalik5397 12 was pretty rough. Head developer/writer left halfway through due to corporate meddling and it shows. Vaan and Penelo were corporate demands (one of many) and weren’t even supposed to be in the game. I’m sure the whole “we need to distance ourselves from turn based combat as much as possible” was a corporate decision as well, and here we are now. This might be a good game and I believe it’ll be really fun, but final fantasy isn’t final fantasy if you don’t have an entire party under your command. That’s part of the entire appeal, it’s not one character’s journey, it’s 6 or 8 or the ungodly amount ff6 has lol. You flat out can’t write the same types of stories as classic final fantasy when you focus on a singular playable character… I’ve gone off topic tho lol.
