Always wondered how Eddie kept his job long enough to even frame Cody, did no one tell Hagger about him or something. I’m far from the most knowledgeable about law, but I would think even just a testimony from the Mayor saying “hey that guy works for the biggest gang in town” would do something.

@@animationdude9 Actually you're both wrong. It is not just FFR that would state Cody was framed but the Street Fighter Zero 3 Secret File Book as well. Cody only started obsessing over fighting after being imprisoned for crimes he did not commit and falling deep into depression as a result, as it was the only thing other thing besides fighting bad guys that made him feel something and unlike the former did not remind him of his "reward" for saving the city.

haha I love how they used to use characters from different franchises in fighting games. I remember when we saw Cody in chains we were shocked. It was in Japanese so we had to put together that he was convicted for his actions in these games. Continuity is awesome even in side scrollers and fighting games! Thanks for this part 1 Shoryu! Glad I finally get a full explanation to his fate!

Capcom Secret Files Hagar was the one that beat Dammed the first boss and he spilled the beans on the trio where Jessica is held. Sodom challenged Guy into a fight and lost after Guy disarmed him and gave him a bushin kick. The Andores where fought by all 3 members when they were jumped in the underground club. Eddie was beaten senseless by Cody after trying to shoot him and Hagar. The Factory Rolento was trying to convince the 3 to join his mercenary group, but rejected and was beaten by Guy. Cody left Guy to fend off Abigail when he learned from him while fighting where Jessica is and Guy defeated Abigail alone. Belgar was defeated by Cody with an uppercut he fell of the glass window. So mostly if we can sum it up, Guy was the one that fought the most boss in the first Final Fight canonically.

Not many people catch onto how Cody was framed or FFR cannocity despite Capcom constantly referencing it, so as someone who only plays SF for Final Fight you did a much better job here than most youtubers.

I wonder if you are going to talk about the Slam Masters (Muscle Bomber in Japan) series That wrestling series actually take place before the first Final Fight. Haggar is playable, back when he was a wrestler before becoming the Mayor of Metro City The most interesting of the Slam Masters characters is Gunloc (Lucky Colt in Japan) There is a Bison Trooper called Blade, he is playable in Street Fighter The Movie The Game (Arcade) In his ending is revealed that Blade was actually Gunloc While that game was not made by CAPCOM, Blade himself became canon many years later. In Blade's official bio, his height and weight are the same as Gunloc's He even likes popcorn...just like Gunloc 😁

I at one point wanted to do be hired by Capcom to do a Final Fight remake. · It has as more moves than Final Fight 3. · New playable characters: Damnd, Sodom, Edi. E, Rolento, Abigail, Ryu (unlockable) and Ken (unlockable). · New enemy characters (for anyone who plays as the Mad Gear bosses): Haggar's tough bodyguards, Guy's ninja comrades, Cody's fellow street fighters.

I did enjoy the video. I enjoy most of them so far, but I think you ran into a small problem-- you are reading the game as if SNK did it and not Capcom. You are forgetting SNK are better story tellers than Capcom. You recording of the events are as if it's Art of Fighting, which it is not. Unlike Art of Fighting where everything happens, just out of order than displayed including outside media, Capcom like to cheery pick bits from outside media and form the story with retro changes. For example of their cheery picking: Poison didn't have anything to do with Cody until Revenge. It was either a manual or some very obscure doujin that stated they knew each other growing up, but the Poison's crush on Cody was none exist until Revenge. Capcom does not count Revenge as canon, but they have adopted Poison's past crush and them knowing each other growing up as fact. That is Capcom's treatment of SF lore in a nutshell. They let others make come up with ideas and swoop in and select what they like for the canon. You wouldn't know what causes Haggar [and you did pronounce the name correctly-- it's Scottish] to run for mayor is his witnessing of drugs and trafficking in the CPW circuit from "crime organizations" (which depending on the source and version of Slam Masters, it could be Shadowloo). Haggar promises to clean up the streets, which he does by going after known locations of Mad Gear [this too isn't told in the game, but is in the manual-- more specifically I think the Guy Special]. That is what prompts Jessica's kidnapping. It is implied that she was raped, but not by Damnd (as he was the one recording)-- it may have been Abigail judging by Cody conversation in FF One. How they got to the slums is never confirmed. I like to think he just traced the call. Or maybe he knew Cody would know something since Cody was a Street Fighter, and also Cody (at this time) may or may not stalked the streets at night and beat the dog shit out gang members. [Side note-- Guy went to train with Cody after losing to Ryu, which happened in front of Sakura and her friend after school, thus inspiring her to learn the hadou.] Whether or not Cody knew the location general area, they traced the call, or whatever they get their pretty fast. The events of the game isn't as they are displayed as explained in "One" and references in other media. They don't beat up a block per-sea but they fight in front of a couple of houses on a run-down street. Next is from every bit of external media that capcom picked and from their own games about FF I am aware: The three do break past the barrier. As they are fighting, Damnd runs into a nearby house and hands over Jessica to Bred (or an off shoot of Bred since Bred is the first thug you fight, so it may have been Dug or Jake). Cody spots this and gives chase into the house, where he fights his way into the cellar. The Cellar scene in level one is Cody alone. Cody fights his way out back to the street via back door. While he returns Guy and Haggar wraps up with Damnd. The reason why Guy and Haggar wasn't swarmed by most of the thugs in the main building is because Cody was in the house picking off most of them. This is also the last time all three are together for the events of the game. Cody runs down the subway thinking he can beat Bred to the meet up location that Damnd just gave up. Guy gives chase while Haggar calls the police. Stage two is Cody and Guy but not together. The subway was a trap-- and Cody fight the more experienced members of the gang. While fighting, Guy catches up to Cody but is trapped on the train trying to reach him. The train portion to Sodom is Guy alone. Cody somehow [never explained] finds Bred car and wreck it. He then finds the bar downtown that is the supposed HQ for Mad Gear. Cody calls Haggar to tell him where the place is at and he is going in, which Haggar warns him against. The first section of Down town is Cody alone. Cody is ambushed by the Andore Father and thrown in a cage match against the entire family. While Cody is fighting for his life, Haggar arrives at the bar and follow the trail of bodies left by Cody. As Haggar is there he either spots Edi E. doing dirt with Mad Gear, or Edi E was with Haggar at this time and turn on him [because he was a plant]. Either way Haggar fights Edi E alone in the street in front of the citizens and win. In the eyes of the public he have killed Mad Gear. Guy arrives at the end to keep the goons at bay since he is just now leaving the subway. After beating the Andore family Cody learns the real HQ of Mad Gear, while Edi E tells Haggar and Guy where the "boss" is located. Cody heads to the bay area while Guy and Haggar goes to the industrial area. Turns out the Bay area isn't a strip but actual a cove; a little park. Cody went there at night by his self and beat the entire gang. He fought until morning. He was so out numbered that he was forced into the public restroom at one point, but he emerged and fought and nearly killed Abigail. Abigail spilled the beans to find Belgar. Guy and Haggar makes it to the Industrial and faces Rolento who announces his self as the leader of Mad Gear. After Rolento tries to kill them all after losing. Haggar gets another call from Cody-- telling him who was really in charge of Mad Gear and where to reach him. Haggar urges Cody to stop and he can handle it, but Cody goes in alone. Uptown is all Cody [we then find out the Belgar was most likely a missionary that tried to turn the biker gangs of Metro City into a positive force by bringing them together under the name of GOD, but was overpowered from within (most likely Rolento) and lost control. He ask Cody to join him to restore order to Mad Gear, and the reason why Jessica was kidnapped was to use as leverage against him to join. Belgar most likely did not know of the rape] until the ending where Haggar finally makes it to the chapel-- just in time to witness Cody kicking Belgar to his death. Haggar consoles Jessica, but Cody doesn't because he just killed/murdered a man. Guy tries to get through to Cody but he doesn't and they fight. This fight has been retconned that Cody wins the fight and if Jessica wasn't there to stop him, Guy may would have been badly hurt. Meaning that Cody didn't stop, even after winning. I don't fault you 'cause all of the details was literally added or cheery picked years later. Nice video.
