I'm black in the second game. When i traded the bishop i calculated that i would get another piece from white. I think i missed that the knight could defend against the queen check and simultanously defend the bishop. If i saw that i wouldn't even play Nxe4 because i definetly didn't see d5 haha. Thanks for the reaction Levy. Was fun to watch :) Oh and i know i need work on my openings especially in the sicilian when and where to move the queen. I know it's essential to play Qc7, Qb6 or Qa5 in the right moments in the opening but i can't grasp when that is.
@violetstrides2 жыл бұрын
Fun game man, also as a fellow dragon player you should always take some measure to prevent white from playing e5. It has happened way too many times when I started & it's an annoying move.
@adrianmessow34482 жыл бұрын
@@violetstrides On e5 i actually wanted to play Nf4 and attack that pawn. But i just followed that line and it's pretty crazy but white can indeed hang on to the pawn and then it's just bad for black. So i won't play that again haha
@Tempergaming692 жыл бұрын
@@adrianmessow3448 The d5 move was after making that Horsey sac and before taking the rook with your bishop as pointed out by levy exactly at 9:34 the point of that move is to deflect the bishop from where its standing because the threat is to check black and win bishop but any knight block will defend bishop so if white bishop takes pawn d5. The line goes like what you did Bishop takes rook queen takes back after that queen can check on a4 then take white bishop. You are up a piece. And is clearly winning but becareful of dark square weaknesses on kingside cause u traded your bishop early. A fianchetto'd bishop shouldn't be traded early even for a rook. Only time a fianchettod bishop should be traded is if its the same colored bishop u are trading for. So yeah I don't really know what you are thinking but What do I know im just rated 1000 :
@Tempergaming692 жыл бұрын
I re read your comment, I now understood what you're saying about the sac you didnt consider a backwards knight move and you didnt calculate d5 but u know how it goes so no need for me to explain that part but still my point is bishop for rook, meeeh.

5:54, How can an 1800 with 4+ minutes on their clock miss that they can just take the rook...
@phen-themoogle76512 жыл бұрын
Magnus Carlos a 2800+ player also blundered his rook recently xD But yeah it's still embarrassing an 1800 missed an obvious capture where the rook is literally right next to the king with no protection. Maybe it was trolling a bit thinking they were still winning and didn't take on purpose lol Once I checked a 2200 player with my queen and it was hanging could've been captured by their queen, they missed it ,and I captured their queen that became hanging lol They still had 20 seconds too. Players have good days and bad days for sure. After becoming 1800 I rarely hang my queen, but on rare occasions I do, and a lot of players have more trust for me to not hang a piece being above 1800, so sometimes you trust your opponent too much based on their rating, especially if you play many games where an 1800 wouldn't blunder something like that, it's kinda like reverse psychology.

People underestimate how much is hung in a high elo game. Us 300s don't see the position the way the GMs do. Levy underestimates what 1200s can hang. As a 300 rapid player I play a friend that consistently rates above 1100 rapid and he never wrecks me it's always competitive. High elo chess players don't remember how much anarchy happens in early elo chess. If I had players that respected me the way others do I'd actually be able to play a little bit of theory. Early elo chess is complete anarchy and if you study real chess moves you actually weaken yourself
