I’m a tinkerer, I come from a line of tap and die makers, I just enjoy seeing the assembly of things and the parts. These are cool videos

Love this. Nothing beats craftsmanship. I like that every Gibson feels different. It makes it more personal to the owner.👍

My dad, bless his soul, bought me a telecaster for $600 in 1978. Thats $2,934 in today's money. Fairly priced guys.

They certainly know how to market the custom shop. Sure, they're phenomenal electric guitars, but you're paying handmade cello kind of money for an electric guitar that is 10% better performing than a "standard" production line. I guess someone has to pay for the marketing... but it won't be me. I think it's cool that you CAN get one-off guitars if you're a famous artist or whatever, but what is wrong with the USA stuff? That is what all the vintage guitars that we all drool over (and these CSs are based on) were when they were new. Buy a USA guitar and play the frets off it and it'll be just as much of a lifelong friends as any Custom Shop stuff. I think everything in this video is SUPER cool, but like $4k for a special and $8k for an ES? holy hell what is going on... only millionaire collectors and big shot artists (who get them for free often) can afford this stuff.

The components are different aka better quality..10%? Subjective The added man hours? NOT subjective. The whole aging thing as a thing I'm not so sure; like what age group are they pulling this sh•t on? OTOH, it's no more weird than anything that floats your boat - like a boat payment, lol. Collectibility? How would one know the "condition" of an aged foo foo case queen guitar say 2 generations from now? "This guy lied about the condition of his Murphy Aged beat up guitar" Really? I'm 71, I'll beat my own guitars up thank you very much, just like I did my 'Cudas in the'70s. 👀

I roll my own fretboard edges. It is not difficult...takes about 15 minutes/guitar. Even cheap guitars are coming with it. Bought two from Jet Guitars..$199 each...rosewood fretboard...rolled edges..

How is it possible that just because a Murphy Lab 59 has a Brazilian board it raises the price up so high??? A regular ML R9 aged is $9k but the same R9 with the Brazilian FB is $20k!!!!

I got a Gibson custom shop 59 Les Paul and it's fantastic . Yeah it's expensive but you can see why, the quality is second to none, the sound is what you expect from a vintage Les Paul . Even the smell is old

Chirp, but nobody seems to return 'em under warranty, huh? I scored a mint Iommi with all case candy, birth photo, DNA sample, strap, lube, tri-corder, phat case protected by Case Monkey for $800 off list. I almost feel guilty, as an old fart blossom SG fan it fits in with the others w/sweet P 90 glory. 🎸

@@cuda426hemi yeah I sold mine for 1500. 2021 too. I'll buy another someday. They are the only company doing it! Not even on a 100 dollar made in China guitars are the fretboard's destroyed by tool marks! The ONLY company doing it in the guitar world. But I'll look at another one.

Cool but they are really hourly factory workers more than luthiers or master guitarists. I worked there in 2006-2008 in final at the custom shop….most guys could barely play. I love Gibson and they are great instruments though
