"The Beverly Hillbillies" stands out as one of the most humorous and endearing sitcoms ever made. Unfortunately, the original cast members have all passed away, with the exception of Max Baer Jr., who portrayed Jethro and is now in his 80s.

I still watch them to this day, it's still on the air in Indiana,& if I can't get enough of them on the TV, I'll watch them on You Tube. I think The Beverly Hillbillies,& The Andy Griffith show made me the person I am today @ 68,they taught me morals (not saying my Parents didn't)

I was about to say! His father was that boxer that killed somebody in the ring wasnt he?? That movie did him dirty though. He actually really hated that it happened, and he took care of that guys family too.

He killed two men in the ring, using a move that wasn't really legal. Idk if he supported their families. But, he knew what was likely to happen before he threw those punches. His son may be a fine man, but, "the sins of the father" will always follow him. 😢

Max didn't kill anyone in the ring. He had a match in 1930 that he won by knock out with his opponent dying the next day. Max was by the bedside with the man's wife. She forgave him, saying it could've been him. The coroner's report said his brain had been separated from the spine. Years later Max won another fight where his opponent died 5 months later after a fight. For some reason the State of California charged Max with manslaughter with him being acquitted after evidence showed that the boxer had meningitis and influenza when he stepped into the ring.

@@DezyFlores Back in the 60's when the Hillbillies were on prime time, secret agent and spy movies and TV shows were very popular.... because of the Cold War , I guess. The 007 films were the most popular . And Naught is an old fashioned way of saying zero. Jethro wanted to be a secret agent and referred to himself as a double naught spy.... He had a bunch of homemade spy gadgets and even outfitted the family truck with an iron tub for armor and put an ejector seat on the passenger side. Of course ,he sent Granny flying a time or two.

Loved that show.. He was Jethro Bodine not sure on the spelling of the name. He gradiated the 6th grade after having to learn his gazentas. For those not familiar with the show gazintas go like this 3 gazintas 9, 3 xs and 2 gazintas 4-- 2 x's abd so on. Granny and her rheumatis medicine she made in her old still she had back home before they headed to Beverly Hills. They had a cement pond aka the swimming pool. The pool table granny called the fancy eating table. And the intro song there once was a man named Jed A poor old mountaineer barely kept his family fed. Then one day he was shooting at some food and up from the ground came a bubbling crude. Oil that is black gold. And I'll spare you the rest. But this show was and still is hilarious. Couldn't have been cast any better.

Max Baer was the son of the famous boxer of the 30s. The Beverly Hillbillies was a great show. Max was going to open a Las Vegas casino featuring the Beverly Hillbillies. It would have been a blast! I suppose Country Bears Jamboree at Disneyland, and of course Knott’s Berry Farm was too successful to challenge anybody. And then Six Flags at Cedar Point in Sundusky, Ohio, has a hillbilly theme, and finally Dollywood in Tennessee did keep investors from putting in the money. I would have loved another hillbilly theme park or casino.

I was in the entertainment industry for 21 years. Max would come to the auditions and hit up women to work in his movies, only women who fit his criteria of course. I saw that in 1984 when I toured and audition the first time, but later on we actually did a photo shoot at his home on his waterfall and pool, which was gorgeous.
