That the UK is continuing the down sizing of its Army is insane. Lower and lower in numbers they go and they will find themselves in deep trouble if a another conflict comes.

Most European militaries are doing the same thing. There is no obvious threat any more except from distant countries.

@@kingwilliamiiiprinceoforan469 I don't consider the Russians a distant threat. And let's be clear they are modernizing and enlarging their military. So to fail to be prepared in light of that threat is just so much whistling passed the grave yard. Weakness only invites conflict. And the best way to prevent war is to ALWAYS be prepared for it. The Danes learned that the hard way in many wars...but especially WWII. Forewarned is Forearmed. Oh one other thing...just because most European militaries are doing this doesn't make it right or wise.

@@johnpitchlynn9341 I see what your saying, but it should be considered the Russian economy is actually smaller than the British economy. The days of the Soviet Union are long gone, Communism has done irreparable harm to Russia.

Chris Ryder talks some shite I am vetran of the UDR and Royal Irish regiment I have asked many soldiers from the Para's to the Gurkas they always said we were the most professional they worked and I mean Gurka officers who were attached to either the UDR or the Royal Irish Regiment we gave our lives for our wee country, I am a solder who was injured on duty I am now disabled and use a stick to walk I was also a member of the first UDR COP team but that is always forgotten as about 2% of soldiers were the bad apples and won't say anything more about those arseholes But I am proud to have served
