Hey, in my books, you have made excellent progress! I live where my project is. I wish I could make the progress you made. I have been putting wall board up in my kitchen (yes, FINALLY covering up the bare insulation I've been living with for 3 years). It takes me one day to get one wall board up. I have 1 left to do.

I’ve been living with a gutted bedroom closet for 12 months, with all of my clothes on a temporary rack in my dining room. I’m sure you can guess how my wife has felt about that! LOL I finally got the closet completely finished and my clothes back into it Tuesday night! .... on to the next disaster, I mean project 😂

Sam I’m getting ready to build my own shed/workshop by myself. So KZbin videos are my schooling. I’ve always liked having my coffee in the morning watching your videos. Your videos have taught me so much when I bought my Shapeoko cnc. Now to build a shop, thanks for sharing your videos.

Great to see it coming on really well and a sense of déja vu from the last one you built but this one seems more under control. I think there's something satisfying about doing so much on your own, even if it makes it a bit slower and harder.

Hey Sam, good to see you again, I love everything about your shop build, the 2x4's look just fine and the underlayment looks good to. Sorry for not being around for a while, I've been getting set up with my first diode laser, Atomstack A5 Pro, probably not the best but I think a good one to start and learn with especially for the price $260 I'm already looking to upgrade, someday be like you with multiple lasers I'm rethinking the direction of my shop now lol once you use a laser there's no going back is there my friend, you're my example that I'm following, can't wait till you guys get completely moved and settled in then maybe your sawmill. Bro love you guys and keep up the great work.

You're absolutely right on no-return from lasertown! :) The Atomstack A5 looks like a good machine. Honestly, they're all about the same in this price point.. some differences here and there, but really about the same. :)

No right or wrong way, you are working for yourself not under contract to someone else. All roads lead to Rome and the objective is to get to Rome by whatever way you chose. Love the videos and good luck in the future

Right now there is no house. :) Just the camper and stuff you see around. We got this land raw and have been working to develop it ourselves over the last few months. All of that is on our homestead/family DIY channel Green Acre Homestead. We will be moving our mobile home to this land for "building our house". :)

On my new shop, I did not cut the rafter tails with the angle of the ridge. I left them straight and for a reason. Cutting them with the same angle as the ridge is all for looks that some like. I left mine straight cut and by doing that, the water runs off with NO chance of running back under the roof sheathing. I also like the way it looks. JS

I have to repair some rafter tails. The circular saw and multitool combo that you used is a good idea. What type of Blade did you use in your multi-tool?

Just a standard wood blade. May be advertised as a fast cut wood blade. It was about 2 inches wide.

Thanks! I have decided on the door and windows, yes (finally). :) The door will be centered on the long wall and I'll have two windows on the same wall; one on each side of the door. That's all I have planned for now -- want to preserve my wall space!

Love watching your progress! What made you choose the Paslode over an electric nail gun for your chosen battery system? (I know a lot of contractors use them, and they came before the electric ones. But not sure what the differences were) I bought an electric pin nailer (most of what I currently build is small, so couldn't use bigger nails right now) and love the thing. They are so handy. Curious your thoughts or what made you go with that, for in the future when I need a larger nailer.

The workshop will be 100% off grid and solar powered. That's how our whole setup on the property is right now--solar powered. We're working to move our mobile home to the land and will tie that to the grid when the day comes, but I always plan to have this shop off grid. We've already installed our water to the property and it's available -- just a matter of a trench and some pipe. :) All our land development progress videos for building our new homestead is over on our family channel called Green Acre Homestead: kzbin.info

the only thing i do different is make my birds mouth the width of the top plate it looks better ,also i plywood my walls on the ground and cut the complete rafter on the horses its all about the less moves you have to make the better
